  1. Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed manifesto and i like his riding style but that video bored me senseless. Too much slo-mo, too much talking and too much effort trying to make it atmospheric. Get him out on the streets and rocks round canada for some great videos again.
  2. No it can't. All you have to do is provide a receipt and show them the game and your set. It's not your fault someone sent it to you before the release date.
  3. £27.97 so long as you spend £30 on food shopping too. £37.97 if not.
  4. Not really, i already have clothes. Having 'Trials branded' ones just doesn't do anything for me.
  5. Have you thought about premier inn? Theres one outside euston station and one near the london eye. So neither are right near where you're asking but not terribly far away either. And the most expensive is £69. http://www.premierinn.com/en/london-hotels.html?CMP=KNC_Gb
  6. So the crank arm isn't going onto the splines all the way to the end of the axle? If that's the case the best thing to do is put the cranks on and ride around and keep tightening it up every 5 minutes or so as the crank will slowly work towards being a looser fit as you ride it. My cranks and reset bb have taken a couple of weeks to get the crank all the way up to the end on the drive side and the non drive side still has a couple of mm to go before it's fully on. If your skipping problem makes the bike unrideable, is there any way for you to fit a different rear sprocket in order to adjust your chainline slightly?
  7. I very much liked the concept, but felt it failed a little in the delivery. I mean, having a show that actually shows how to make awesome shit around the house and generally being like ray mears around the home would be mint. But as has already been pointed out it was far too scripted and some of the things weren't that good (serenading etc.) I'll watch it next week as most pilot episodes vary from the main bulk of the show while they assert themselves and May probably has to weedle out the top gear style of presenting a bit so fingers crossed it'll get better. I'm hoping to see him build something using the speakers he has in the background or some kind of epic bbq type thing.
  8. Just needs a siren and some flashing blue lights now....

Gap: 7-8 foot. Tap: 7-8 pallets Sidehop: 8-9 pallets Sidehop gap: 7 foot Up to front: 8-9 pallets Gap to front: 8-9 feet Style, smoothness and creativity: Endless In all seriousness though, those are pretty safe margins you've put up. I think people should always try to achieve more, isn't constant progression one of the key elements to trials?
  10. They've already been made and launched to market, but the technology isn't perfect. There is a pretty narrow 'sweetspot' directly in front of the tv that works well, but to the sides are not as good and when the viewer moves their head the effect becomes somewhat distorted which can be very distracting. That and the fact the tech is too new to be effectively integrated to larger sets commercial units are currently limited to 20" and talking about a 32" screen in the near future. The other issue is you have to sit fairly close to it for it to work.
  11. 28" version of what i have now as i really rather like it. Maybe a slightly longer wheelbase to 1150 or 1200.
  12. Ooh, a notts evening ride could be fun. I've always found Nottinghams spots to be rather public so daytime riding on a Saturday has usually put me off.
  13. 3 frames, less than £200. Onza rex, coust, limey.

    Boosters

Not necessarily. And..... Links to the 'statistics'? Seriously though, not every setup benefits from a booster. You've got 6 variables that come into play and changing just one of them can make it entirely different to someone elses. You've got the type of rim surface (light/heavy grind, smooth), the frame, the booster, the rim, lever blade length and the pads. Some boosters are stiffer than others, the heatsink booster and echo control boosters were some of the stiffest i've ever used and they both made the brake worse on my already stiff t-rex frame. Some frames are very flexy indeed and so a booster does tend to help brake performance but then some are so stiff that using a booster is a hindrance. The only logic i can conclude to this is that where not using a booster would normally allow a slight flex in the frame and mounts when the brake is applied it takes strain off the pads. However using a set of hard pads like tnn belays or phatpads on a stiff frame with a stiff booster and a long lever blade will take all the flex from the frame and add a bit more force to the pads through the longer brake lever. Seeing as the pads are now the only point of flex, what often happens is applying the brake results in the pads being fully compressed to a point where they won't compress any more. At this point the hold seems to go out the window, there is no bite to the brake and the pad material (if used on a grind) often shreds off into shavings of polyurethane. The only thing i can suggest is to experiment with a couple of different setups on your own bike and see where you're happy to make compromises. At the end of the day a lot of the problems can be alleviated through adapting your riding anyway so if you prefer good bite and have to sacrifice hold in order to get it then make sure you land things properly without coming up short and vice versa if you want hold be prepared to apply your brake sooner to compensate for the slower bite response.
  15. Get a powerball and use the endurance mode on it (the one where you have to get as high a score as possible in 90 seconds), this help strengthen the muscles in your forearms. Laying your arms on a flat solid surface with the wrist hanging off the end and curling a dumbell using only your wrist will also strengthen the muscles, though i found this to be in a much more targeted manner than the powerball (which seems to do all the muscles in the forearm) Change your riding style. Stay off the brakes as much as you can. The best riders flow through the sections without stopping to hop and without staying motionless with the brakes locked. It's constantly holding the brake on that is the biggest contributor to arm pump so try to only use them when you need them. The last point i found is the one that helped the most, although it's still a work in progress for me as i stop and sit still far too much, even now. If you can do a couple of moves then trackstand with the brakes off for a minute then continue with the section you'll get more used to staying off the brakes and eventually you'll only be using them every now and again as your confidence grows.
  16. Trials HD was quite a hit though because it was easy to play and hard to master. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/trials-hd-hits-1m-sales-across-game-and-dlc Not many xbox live games have actually reached 1 million sales.
  17. Yeah, sure is a grasshopper. You going to the harden moor comp? You'll get to see a real tall person if you do

    Thrashed 8

Tis leicester, i'm sure we'll be sauntering along tomorrow. I want to get a few things done while i'm there. Wasn't used to the bike during those clips as i'd changed bars, gear ratio, brakes, chains, pads etc so it felt a bit alien until later in the day.
  19. It's all well and good but lycra?!?....
  20. Looking at heading to leicester tomorrow for a bit of fun and a bit of filming. Nice relaxed meet at around mid-day at the courts?
  21. I was about to post the same thing in that i had a pair once and they were huuuuge thick. Ended up getting some neoprene ones from wilko's for under a fiver and they were lovely, it was just for commuting after all.
