The more common name for that tool is a "rubber mallet"... just slide the ring on and bash it into place. The rubber wont damage it and it'll get it on properly instead of you needing to use a half-arsed tool.

The hardest bit is putting the bottom bracket and headset in. For the headset you'll most likely need to use a headset press or someone on here built their own or you could use a hammer and a block of wood (although if done incorrectly this method can lead to flaired headtubes). Best bet is to go to a bike shop and get them to fit your headset and your bottom bracket. This shouldn't cost much at all, for reference my local shop usually does it for free because they know me but charge £2 to fit a headset to customers usually. Next thing once the headset is in is to put the forks in, literally place the lower bearing race from the headset onto the forks, slide them in from the bottom of the headtube and whack your stem onto the bit that sticks out the top. Attach bars to the stem, whack the front wheel in and proceed to the rear of the bike. Main thing here is just putting your wheel into the frame, tighten the QR skewer or bolts and your done. Attach the crank arms by applying loads of grease to the bottom bracket axle then push them on and tighten them further by tightening the crank bolts up. Put the pedals on, most pedals have an L or an R on them to let you know which side of the bike they go in. Fit the brakes, set them up and you should be ready to go. ain things to remember are: Apply lots of grease to moving parts, bearings and screw threads.never force a bolt in, if it feels stiff take it out and try again. This should help you avoid cross threading itTighten everything up nicely so it doesnt fall apart too soon

Yeah mine had the whole lever mushiness, a little bit of pumping and it seems to cure it for a minute or two, but after you've bled it properly it doesnt have any mush and feels much more powerful and responsive. Give it a bleed, you'll be amazed at the difference it makes.

My dads mac looks nice but its much easier and less hassle to use my pc. Before anyone says i can't use it properly we've had some form of mac in this house since i was 6 so thats 13 years of using them, we only got our first pc 3-4 years ago because the mac wasn't compatible with anything my school had. So we got a nice laptop and it was great never had problems with it up until recently and i think that is becasue the hard drive is on the way out, it never had a disk defrag or windows re-installing in the entire 3-4 years we had it. People say that macs are better for editing photo's and things but what do they base it on? I completely fail to see it. A pc isn't any less functional for using photoshop, there aren't any super great functions or filters on the mac version, the speed is aproximately the same, if anything slightly quicker on my pc. The only thing that diferenciates the mac from the pc is the faint slim silver window border around the program and the lack of functionality with me being only able to click one sodding mouse button.

Get well soon dude, hope ami is alright too. Being in the car with one of my mates is pretty close sometimes and it does make you wonder about how some people really do get away with driving like they do.

There really should be anyway, its not safe to have cyclists going down londons roads. There are quite a few in my area but som of them are just plain idiotic, theres one cyclec path that is only twice the length of my bike and to get to it you have to cut up onto the normal path ride along it then get back on the road again, its on a corner as well for good measure. Theres no way that should happen. I'm not going to pay to have my bike serviced every 6 months when i'm perfectly capable of servicing it myself. Plus theres also the fact that if bikes are registered with number plates they'll need to have a description of the bike on record. Now for us that just isn't going to happen because the speed most of us change the parts on our bikes we'd be ringing them up all the time letting them know we've got new bars or changed the frame or bought new cranks or something. Theres too much to do to make it all work, and the government is pretty lazy/slow about getting things done.

I personally would be fine with a 69mm toptube but i can't speak for everyone as everyone will have different views. I say bring on something new and ingenious to the trials world .

So it looks like in dengs eyes, that stock bikes should all become mod bikes with bigger wheels. No mech hangers (needed for some comps remember), horizontal dropouts, bb rise, and now a mod hub rear triangle spacing. The sad thing is the geometry sounds great... nice long wheelbase and medium bb rise which is comeplemented with short chainstays. I suppose from an strength perspective, the 116mm hub size would mean that theoretically the axle is stronger than a standard 135mm axle.

I saw two rainbows next to each other with about 4 streaks of lightening flashing under the rainbow arches all in the same brief millisecond on my way back from the beach on wednesday... that was pretty random/impressive.

I guess this is a copy of you and mates wrestling, not pirate copies Find a dvd ripping program and use that to rip the sections of the dvd into an avi format.... ImTOO DVD Ripper should do the job quite nicely... theres a free download of it that will record up to five minutes worth or you could purchase the full program for next to nothing... or find a P2P copy of it Then use something like nero vision express 3 to put the avi files into a do it yourself dvd with your own custom menu's and things. The nero program is available for download off their site (i think) or can be puchased for around £3 off ebay with all the serials to unlock the extra features.

Although you are right and i totally agree, there is also the fact that a dropout is usually designed to match the theme for the rest of the frame. Some frames would just not suit a generic dropout, especially if the frame was being otherwise innovative like the new koxx frames, a generic onza t-rex/coust styled rear dropout being welded onto the new mono-piece design frame (unofficially known as the koxx kamel) would look utterly ridiculous. So although its a good idea for us riders its not neccessarily the best idea for the manufacturers or for the look of the frame, which in the end is gonna have to appeal to us for us to buy it. I have always wanted to see a dropout designed like a spikey fish fin or something unusual like that...

It amazes me how that kind of spelling and random switching of letters is not too much more exagerated than your normal manner of spelling and grammar.

So you cant fit 6 of the sprockets that you've taken off your 8 speed cassette, using the 8 speed spacers as well? Go single speed

Yeah man, who are you, boumsong was getting worried he was all on his own.

Dude, you up to anything tomorrow? We're thinking of riding in loughborough or somewhere nearby so if you wanna join us that'd be cool. It'd be nice to have some more grown up riders around instead of all the little kids.
