It's astounding, it really is. The majority of people i know who take their fitness to this kind of level in order to produce these kind of results make marriage look like a quick peck on the cheek. I dabble for a while occasionally, but tend to lose focus just as i start to see some kind of benefit from it and end up getting into the rut of "i'll do some next week".

I like going out with chilled out friends of a similar age group far more than group rides with younger, more argumentative guys. Between 1-6 is usually big enough to keep riding varied and crop up new ideas to copy from each other and expand upon without it getting to the point where people are feeling like they're queuing up to ride more than actually riding. I don't like going out on rides with people who feel they have to keep trying to assert themselves within the group every 2-3 minutes. So i usually go out riding with people i know around 75% of the time, join a larger ride every 1-2 months and then ride solo if i need to make sure i've set something up right or on the rare occasion that nobody else is out.

I posted to ask a question. My reply to the question was "i have no idea". If you'd care to read it properly you'd see that is a perfectly valid answer. I'm not going to get into another disagreement because of your over-pendanticism of semantics.

It's called joint liability. It also means if none of you pay anything they can chase up any one, two or three of you for the whole amount. You really should have read through this before signing!
-
You don't have to vote genius. I don't care enough to weigh it, why is that not a valid answer?
-
Are people really this tall though? Because i'm definately 6'5", and every t-pro has given me back ache within a matter of minutes. Seems every time i go on group rides as well these "so called tall people" are often a couple of inches shorter than me.

No idea, not really that fussed about it. Is weight the new sidehop inches trend?

Sander, dremel, anything designed to take metal off in small amounts really.

Everybody doesn't hate you, you just whine a lot (like above). I can only guess you're fairly young still, especially from the nature of the arguments and your responses. Just chill out, don't get into arguments and understand that if you come out with silly/stupid remarks people will pick what you said apart to make themselves feel better. It'll happen all through life as it's inherent in human social interaction and a part of the social ladder, a forum just amplifies it as it's based around human social interaction.

Shorts, t-shirt, bag.

Reminds me of school disco's and skegness arcade music.

Shush you, it's comfy and once the sound and video start up you don't have the chance to take your attention away from them.

If you want quite a nice setup my advice is to DIY everything. I build my own cables, the sub, the have table, speaker stands. Everything that i can build gets done. Plus you get it exactly how you want it. Here's mine at the minute.... My next task is a larger have rack so i can fit everything, then new centre speaker then new floorstanders for the fronts. It's taken a while but it's well worth it!

You can hide it behind the tv, but you could look on ebay or the avforums classifieds computer section and pick up a htpc case? Mine was £40 second hand because of a slight scratch on the side and it looks lovely. Picking up a HTPC specific graphics card (they're usually cheap as chips because they aren't "HARDCORE GAMING FTMFW!!11!!" cards) or downclocking an older high end graphics card should keep noise down, sticking an arctic cooling freezer on the cpu would cost about £15 and they're quiet as hell. A graphics card with dedicated HDMI should allow for sound as well as image over the HDMI, which saves on cables etc. This can be emulated by a dongle with some cards from a DVI socket. But if you have an amp/surround or run optical audio to the tv then a regular DVI card would be fine and keep the costs back a bit as well.

Short: Build something new. Long: HD footage takes a lot of work on the processor side of things and the only way to really stop such a burden is to get a graphics card with hardware based HD compatibility. Obviously information travelling from the hard drive will be huge due to the massive bitrate of HD media so your ram will be causing you problems as well. If you were to spend money on the current machine in order to try and improve it you'd be wasting your money. The TV will do things like data sync correction via the HDMI to ensure smoother playback in case of any small amounts of lost information but again it boils down to a case of "rubbish in - rubbish out" in that the TV cann't stop long stutters and freezing/artifacts within the image. Idealy you'd be looking for at least a dual core, 2gb ram minimum and a graphics card that has at least a slight amount of grunt behind it. For an idea my HTPC is running: Intel e2200 at 3ghz 2GB ram 500gb hard drive x1950xtx Gfx card. That does the job just fine, although i did notice with my intel e2180 that while 720p was fine at stock speeds, in order to play 1080p even remotely smoothly i had to get it to 3.3ghz. The other thing i found is that programs like VLC, WMP, Nero showtime and Powerdvd all stuttered when playing huge 1080p files. The dark knight had random stutters with all of them, no matter what i did. XBMC was the cure to this problem. It's free, well supported and has a host of features that make the machine into a very sleek media centre. It supports practically every video file out there and stopped any stutters i had with the other programs when playing 1080p files. Available here. You might as well try XBMC on the current machine, as it is free and easy. But unfortunately i don't know if it'll make much difference.

Will people be able to stick around for a bit afterwards catching up and having a bit of a freestyle play on the rocks once the days over/sections removed?

Well here's my first bash at editing a video for quite a while and i thought i'd get back into the swing of things with budget HD camcorder. I'm getting a bit more used to it now in terms of realising what it can and can't do so i'll be bringing out another video with all my other footage shortly. Anyway, i digress... here's the video! Vimeo Video -> Original Video Any comments/criticism is fine. It was filmed over a couple of rides in April/May, all in leicester with varying riders. Clips are kind of in chronological order from first clips with the cam through to having it for a few weeks.

Take it down a notch everyone, there really is nooooooo need. Anyway, my contribution. Turns out the police don't have any cctv footage of either of the guys that took it, despite one of them wandering round in the shop and paying for his stuff in front of the counter camera. Think one of the employees knew him though as he mysteriously forgot who he was when questioned by the police and the cctv footage showing them walk off and take it seems to have vanished. As much as i don't like chavs, they can have their uses... i.e. paying another one to steal something back!

In, need to test the new toy with a group ride.

Same thing i was doing. Wonder how many more of these "antiques" there will be?

Well before the current voting system it was very much a case of us mods looking through new members or through the validation system for recent posts, that were acceptable for bringing into the main forum. If you don't post very often then the chances are higher that you wouldn't have been spotted and therefore you never got validated. As mark said, 2 years of non-activity would drop you right down on the "newest post first" list of members to be validated.

DEidn't the original plazmatic CRM's come in official magura branded backings? I'm pretty sure that's the reason i bought my first set at the 2004 bike show. Bought them for like a tenner then came on here and found out how good they were. Really wished i'd bought more!
