1. A member on here with the username revolver is riding a because 24" trials. It's really quite nice, although i can't really give a valid review as i'm a little oversized for it but it seems lighter than a zoot, easier to rde and looks pretty tidy as well.
2. I've ridden nearly every day for the last 2 weeks, cheeky f**k. But he is right about us riding rocks though. If you fancy varying up the mundane street sessions with some interesting riding theres plenty of outcrops around leicestershire that don't involve a load of straight edges, theres usually a space in a car as well if we're venturing out and about as well so it should be cool to get you in. Tom booth and revolver are both in notts, mr singleton lives in lughborough too when he's not galavanting around the country doing demo's for giles and once uni commences again this year i think andy walker and steve o might be around. Possibly patt donovan too, although i'm not entirely sure on that one. There's loads of cool riders around leicester as well, rebelistic and adam thomson are sometimes out and are really chilled out guys who enjoy having a laugh. Alteratively check out the list of riders in the leicestershire county on here http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?app=members&section=view&module=list
3. I can do over 40" and i never do sidehops. Think i've done around 20 in my entire riding lifetime (upwards at least). Surely the average has to be above that?
4. You can still get better quality with some over others within the 720p bracket. Also not many do true 1080p, which can be useful. A better manual focus can help make the footage quality a lot better as well, something the little cheap cameras often don't include and even ones like my more budget HD camcorder don't implement well. Low light sensitivity is also a key feature to look for, something the panasonic brands do rather well... canon too i think. Optical image stabilisation over digital any day, and you should be able to get one with optical for the £300 budget if you do your research. The little sub £100 micro HD cams are okay for the odd thing here or there, but if you want to make some decent videos rather than a selection of clips then you'll soon find yourself looking for better equipment. Panasonic or canon would be where i start looking if i were you.

8. It's basically a pinch protection function, though if you would like a much better and much cooler description look here... http://www.bikeradar.com/blogs/article/-opening-up-the-world-of-tyre-production-14595
9. Might well be coming. Just gotta wait for boumsong to wake up.

Films!?

Just deleting the formatting brackets would have done it.... Synopsis: Poignant drama telling the real-life story of a man left paralysed in the prime of his life who went on to show incredible reserves of spiritual strength to author his memoirs. The editor of France's Elle magazine, Jean-Dominique Bauby was struck down in his 40s by a stroke that left him unable to move a muscle, yet did not affect his mental reflexes. He went on to write his autobiography just by blinking patterns - the only physical activity he could still perform - which followed an alphabetical code. If you know anyone who's feeling uninspired, show it to them. I was awe-struck

11. I guess fatso means the wooden fencing section with red building in the background near the end. 2.30. Pedalling bunnyhop clip, looked like a peddling bunnyhop tuck flight-time concorde thing.
12. Nice one dude. Still think i enjoyed your brakeless vid more but that was pretty good. Nice sidehop on the KFC walls, just need you out on some rocks now to improve your balance! You bunnyhop that bike very well though, very impressed.
13. WDTV Live From the sounds of it the HTPC will just add more problems and be an expensive solution for you. Unless there is something specific you want from it, which from the list of things you've described, there isn't then you would be better off with an all in one media box. And no, look at the size of that case. It's one dvd drive wide. You won't gut a full height GPU in there with everything else in there too. It says one PCI card with an adapter, which will most likely be a Lbend socket adapter to sit the single pci card in parallel with the motherboard in case you wanted a decent soundcard.
14. I've just thought, do you have a ps3? if so then your best and cheapest option would be to install windows home server on the laptop and allow the ps3 to navigate to it through the network. The ps3 will play 1080p mkv fine and you can use pretty much any old crappy computer for the windows home server.
15. That should be fairly soon. The new lines of HD cameras have just come out with some newer revisions on the way and so if you were wanting pro features you could pick up a SD camera with decent features for quite cheap off ebay.
16. Oi, cheeky! Yeah, think the last time i saw you was either dudwood farm or bracken. Cam was £200 in the currys sale. It's okay, does the job. I'd love one with a decent manual focus though
17. http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2007/10/15/daniel-schweinerts-3.html You'll basically need to buy some glass, a set of macro rings and an SLR lens. Then get building following those instructions. Have you tried just using some basic camera angle techniques? If it's just for a mess around you won't get quite the same effect as the TRA vids but you may possibly be able to use manual focus on your camera and focus primarily on an object nearby, then with the right angle you can have the background largely shown with "bokeh".
18. Yarp, sure was. We'll have to try that crankflip to gap clip again next time. Looked mint but was just a little short on the gap. I'll clean the lens next time too
19. This, but i'd go with a linear slic instead of the wilko's cable if your going to be doing bmx riding (spins etc). The mono trial and try all are the same aside from the lever design/shape and colour scheme. Try-all comes with a try-all design rotor instead of the standard one. Listed price is for each single brake.
20. Okay, someone asks you in real life, in a real conversation and you reply with "i have no idea". That's valid, not useful, but valid. According to your logic you'd either have to tell them a weight or remain ignorantly quiet without answering at all. Are you saying you've never answered a question with "i don't know", "i'm not sure" etc? I have no idea how heavy so that is my answer, then i moved onto my question. It's a forum, not tax return, i didn't vote so there's no problem except the one you're making.
21. Varifocal lenses are for glasses and really crappy manual-focus-only cameras. You already have a parfocal lens built into the camera so i'm not entirely sure what you're after. The main options are fisheye, wide angle, macro and telephoto. 30.5 is also a shite thread size so you'll need an adapter as 99% of lens manufacturers don't support 30.5. Which means whatever lens you do get it's best to get a larger thread size lens then use a step down ring to reduce barrelling (seeing the inside of the lens in the footage). 37mm is most common for handheld camcorders so most lenses will be 37mm with a step up or step down ring. Generally lenses are more expensive the bigger the thread size and you may find a 58mm lens to be twice the price of the same 37mm lens. I'm finding the same issue as mine is 30.5mm too. Luckily adapters are common as muck on ebay and nice and cheap too. A good trick is to type your camcorder model then whatever lens you're looking at getting into youtube so you can see if anybody is using it and whether you're okay with the amount of distortion or barrelling. If you just want a cheap lens though, ebay is your best bet. Should be able to find an adequate wide angle or telephoto/macro combi for around £20.
22. Not necessarily. If he's using a machine with onboard VGA any graphics card will most likely improve the fluidity of HD playback, taking some of the strain from the CPU.
23. Previous videos seem to get replaced with current ones every major news time, so lunch and night.
24. That's about as helpful as saying it has a screen and keyboard. If you're editing 720p or low bitrate 1080 then you'll need a dual core processor at 3.0ghz or higher and for full bitrate 1080 you'll need a quad at similar speed. 2gb RAM minimum and a graphics card with hardware accelerated h.264 support would be helpful.
25. The independent witness is someone who isn't the signing tenant or the landlord. If you were all present at the same time to sign it that usually counts as you were witnesses to each other. If the contract specifically states that then you can swing it that your friend not participating is not what you originally signed into. You should be able to blag that the contract is void due to the initial terms not being met as specified within the contract. If the contract is a list type whereby the list of tenants is solely at the rear without a covering letter at the front specifying the entire group then any and every name on the list would be liable. My advise is request a copy of the contract, this way you can see where you stand and we can offer better advise. When did you pay your deposit? The landlord is legally obliged to deliver notice of where your deposits are being held in compliance with the 2007 tenancy deposit scheme. This notice must be given to you by the landlord within 14 days of you paying the initial deposit. You also need to ask for these details if they haven't already been given.
