Haven't been riding for 4 years, what changed?

2009 was far more than 4 years ago -
Wouldn't necessarily call them "underdogs" as such. I've been running a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro for the past couple of years, which at the time was similar specs to the latest Samsung except it cost me £110 outright. Looking to replace it in the next few months and will likely go for something similar. Xiaomi, in particular, are effectively the Samsung of China (at least, they were the second largest phone brand over there again at the time) so it's not like they're just some random warehouse bolting together budget parts. I've been far more impressed by this phone that I was by any of my earlier Apple/Samsung/HTC/etc handsets. Certainly not for everyone, in much the same way that iPhones have a lovely interface but don't tick all boxes for all people, but certainly don't rule out the foreign brands just because they're not so common over here (do make sure they operate on the right frequencies though!!) I'd have no problems with a Pixl/other Google branded phone either - given the way the company operates they're not really in a position to throw out a POS unit in the same way some might. Not to say it's perfect, but given they build the Android OS they should be pretty well set to get it right.

I'd rather run metal pedals with decent grip that hurt but help to avoid slipping off, than plastic pedals which you slip off more frequently. 100% pain 5% of the time over 80% pain 95% of the time please.

A decade or so ago we all just used to use standard superglue (cyanoacrylate) when making our own pads. The lack of tabs on the rear means no real mechanical lock which is a bit of a shame, but unless you often drag brakes lots then the pads are usually being pushed harder into the backing when braking, so it's really only to hold the polyurethane in place when you're not pulling the lever. An epoxy would create a stronger bond of course, but will take a little more effort to clean up if you want to put new material in place once it's worn down.

@Jonny Jones loves a bit of vinyl () and should be able to knock something up, I'd imagine -
I was intrigued, so Googled this to see what it was. If I didn't know you had expensive taste in bikes I'm not sure I'd know which you were going for...

I strangely quite enjoy it, especially after leaving the bullshit military system. Make yourself valuable to the employer and difficult to replace, then see how far you can push holding them to ransom for it

It'll be 50% off by the time G's done with it.

...to cube Klaus?

Pretty sure he's open source, so you should just be able to download the code and run it on the big day.

Yeah, I got on it at 0700, speech was at ~1600 or something and relatively brief. Pressure's on the BM to be entertaining and the FOB to be sincere, you just throw down some thanks and say a few nice words then chill out again

Gifts for folk who helped, obligatory "thanks for welcoming me to the family" if your in-laws aren't dicks (I kept mine to the MIL and poked fun at FIL instead), and a quick "you look hawt" to the bride. If you get confused you may end up saying "thanks for looking hawt" to MIL instead.

Better than that damn bow-tie placement bullshit @dann2707 went for. C**t..

I only modified the existing tags, rather than adding them. If previous-Tom had been following protocol and wearing one then it'd be fine. f**king previous-Tom.

That's pretty sick, nice one man!

rant rant/ verb 1. speak or shout at length in an angry, impassioned way. "she was still ranting on about the unfairness of it all" synonyms: hold forth, go on and on, deliver a tirade, rant and rave, fulminate, sound off, spout, pontificate, trumpet, bluster, declaim; More

Think they did a 130mm DJ, at least at some point in the series lifetime. Could well be mistaken though, never had a set myself but the lads I rode with tended to (when we were all on singlespeed jump bikes)

I'm pretty sure he's a machine-learning-enabled spambot. The reason AI isn't advancing as quickly as people had initially thought is because they chose to use TF as their platform.

Proper job. These frames are great fun and, evidently, still look good today. -

Overengineered solution to a problem that doesn't really exist, but very nicely executed. Kudos -
I used to run softer tyres too. Can appreciate the faster rolling nature of hard tyres and would occasionally pump them up for park/dirt use, but I'd typically be in a similar ballpark. Extra squish and a bit of comfort ***! Edit: As if "for the win" is still swear-filtered out
