  1. As I just posted on Facebook, Mike, I currently have one space in my car. Whilst it won't get you home it'd sort you out Southend to Plymouth, so if you fancy it it's yours
  2. The forks use the dropout to add the rake, as opposed to having a legs themselves welded at an angle to the crown Bike looks good, though the bars look too flat for such a beast!
  3. Right, you want something interesting to do? Chose the best 3/4 minutes worth of clips from your collection of videos and go out with the camera. Film the lot again on the new bike, only improving on each one a little (be it bigger, smoother, less hops, an extra 180 etc) and make a video from that. Perhaps throw the old clips together too for comparison.
  4. Awesome stuff dude, glad to hear you'll be making it along. I assume that being on the Simtra you'll be keeping with 26" wheels? If that's the case I can't offer any wheels/tyres, but may be able to lend you a Mono M4 rear disc if nothing else pops up. Anything else needed? I've got a few spare drivetrain bits (cogs/tensioners) about the place etc so drop me a line Guys, I need to remind you all that you need to arrange somewhere for you to stay along the trip. Fortunately as a community we have a pretty good selection of top lads in each stop who may or may not be able to offer floorspace to you, but it's on your own backs to find them/relatives/hostels/fields in which to stay. Whilst I have some room for people to crash in Plymouth (most of which has been claimed, if you've not spoken to me about it then feel free to get in touch just in case) I can't fit everyone in, as much as I'd like to!
  5. I still think that a few "street comps", or at least more accessible, man-made comps (think Exeter, Trial of Wessex etc) would give a huge boost to the scene over here. There's no rule to say comps must be on natty, and it's been proven that when events are more accessible/within riders' comfort zones then the attendance shoots up and people have a really good time (plus it's far easier to make a spectator event out of it, as the ToW showed!) If I had the time and means of organising such an event I'd be straight on it.
  6. I'm not going to sit and preach to people to wear a helmet, as at the end of the day you know exactly what you're signing up for by not putting one on, just thought it might be worth pointing out that... ...kinda misses the point. You're just as likely to fall off/have an awkward stack when you're new to trials as you are once you've got a heap of experience behind you.
  7. I think it's pretty safe to say he's covered that... Jimmy; that's almost '04/Short Control territory, if it were a tad shorter. I know it might not be quite ideal for you but a little shorter/lower would also be getting towards the old Pures too which a load of people seem to always say they want back. Not sure if you could hack riding one of those again, but might be worth keeping in mind for your sales pitch to Pash
  8. Cool stuff, Alex. Enjoyed watching that - riding editing and audio were great!
  9. FFS, work just bailed on me so I could have headed up with Darren. FAIL
  10. Forum glitch, deal with it
  11. One dude each side of the road, fishing wire, done. Would certainly make things more entertaining
  12. Cool, swing by and pick me up after work tonight and we're on. Nice one.
  13. It's surprisingly sunny outside
  14. I really want in on the action, but working tomorrow night. Bad bad times
  15. Yeah but you also lose some of the strength/rigidity that the slight join in the top/down tubes provides, I'd have thought. Not going to be a huge difference either way really. Personally I see no reason to need to do it - running a slightly different geometry stem puts the bars in the same place, job done.
  16. Anyone likely to be heading down to/past Plymouth on the Sunday evening? Need to be back in time for work on Monday but if there's a way of getting back it could be on...
  17. Man the funk up. Set it up right and you'll have plenty of modulation, enough wet weather performance and no noise... The only time I've had an issue with mine was in a pissing wet comp in long grass, not exactly a common occurrence for me A D521 is about 25mm wide, plenty
  18. Mavic rim, Mono hub, skinny tyre, vee. Would lighten your front end a treat. Alternatively, lay off the pies.
  19. Dude, you finally got one! Awesome stuff, looks pretty tasty too Ride very very soon x
  20. Savage man, but fair play. Check out trains too, if it work out cheaper for you to train one way and hop in let me know. Gonna be slick boys!
  21. Cool stuff man, sweet snaps. Looking forward to the vid ee ho.
  22. If that's the case then it's utterly ridiculous. Sort it the hell out.
