No it didn't, stop exaggerating. Have been averaging just over 55mpg in my A4 now, this is combined, mainly motorway, but with a fair bit of London traffic jams & town driving thrown in! Current 99.9p prices atm gives me about 8.2p per mile (compared with 14.9p how it used to be in my 38mpg scirocco and £1.25 per litre petrol costs!). I reckon I could get 75mpg out of a diesel equivalent of my car, which would be 6.7p per mile! I would like to point out to anyone that slipstreams lorries (including myself, 90% of the time when on the motorway), it may attract attention from the rozzers, as I found out last night. Obviously blagged my way out of it, but do keep an eye out.
