  1. How weird, you in the Maudslay building then i take it? I guess i will see you around if you are...yeah i desperatly need to ride, havent since starting Uni this year as i've been doing the bike up and works been crazy, but i'm now more than happy to take time off for making music and riding so yeah i'll sort the bike out and sort out a ride..... young Fred Grillet is out at Notts Uni so i imagine hes got his bike up this year aswell..... good stuff!
  2. Yeah you probably will go far, people who tend to be so far up their own arse unfortunately seem to prosper in this world. Good luck to you, although doesn't seem like you need anything or anyone - i've come across lots of people like you, so blinkered that you won't offer anything new - you'd make a good business man. Also i dont care what or who you are as a trials rider i was commenting on your graphics - your relevance as a trials rider matters little to me.
  3. Yeah you did, John Frusciante is another musician that deserves special mention, perhaps not as the guitarist of the chili peppers, but for his solo work and work with Ataxia. Are you a fan of the mars Volta at all? (obvious connection). John Williams does also deserve his mention and if we're going in that vain then Ennio Morricone should be heard.
  4. Are you stupid or just naive? The slang and wording of your text is rediculous. If you ever want to be taken seriously by anyone of any worth sort that bio out - its pathetic. From the right alignment, to the stupid way in which you say things, its just awful and you'll look a total fool if you ever present this to anyone in the graphic design industry. Your graphics are pretty average ,sure they would sell, but they're just atypical pieces of graphics, nothing new or exciting, but there is potential - it comes across like your discovering new software techniques as you go along, but not implimenting them in a tasteful way. I worked as a freelance graphic designer last year, and may move into graphics when i complete by degree, but if i worded or described myself as you have done i would have been looked down upon and laughed off, you need to seriously think about presenting yourself in a more professional manner.
  5. Yeah i'm at Trent doing Product Design unfortunatly, not really my calling in life..but i'm in final year so over soon and i can further something more exciting and useful! If your in Notts ,should sort out a ride sometime!
  6. www.myspace.com/matthewcurrie or www.myspace.com/aparallelsphere thats a link to some of my stuff, i'd be interested in your guys opinions if any of you have the time or inclination. Thanks.
  7. Yeah i live in Notts while i'm at uni so it'll be good to go and see a gig that i don't have to travel miles for - should be fun!.... they've just come on on my itunes!

    Colour

Think the picture is pretty bad to be honest, both from a quality perspective but also as a piece of visual media/art - its not too hot. I can see what she was going for and the idea is nice enough, i just think the execution is poor. Its really messy and not in an intentional way, just been too heavily ladened with cheap effects and filters, its most evident inside the rear wheel. The font for ''colour'' is nice enough though. God some people on this forum are beyond desperate and need to get layed!
  9. I'm going to see Kings of Leon on Friday, Thom Yorke deserves a mention for possibly one of the greatest albums last year, an In Rainbows is set to be a great album. CUrrently listening to one of my own songs, see what i like and dont like about it.....
  10. If its always -2.0 no matter what you do then it sounds like your ''aperature compensation'' is set-up that way, you need to reset it to cenre to allow you to have full (normal) control over it. Look that up in your manual - if thats no good then i'll have a look at my camera and try and remember how you change it.

    Police

Sounds like you were being a knob ,irreseptive of what the woman was saying, you don't act like a twat just because someone else does. What are people still confused about.....trials will get you unwanted attention and its not a great idea to add to this or play off it, generally speaking most trials (on street) is probably wrong and the police/authoritites will have many reaons why that is so...anti-social behaviour/criminal damage/trespassing - basically it is wrong ,why people still try and prove some pedantic, pathetic point is beyond me. Just deal with it, be polite and move on - why object and be a dick about it and give trials a further bad name? What are you really trying to achieve, that there is no legal reason that you can't ride on some shitty wall......grow up its just a f**king wall - go elsewhere, don't piss people off and get used to it, we all have to deal with it, you're not being some macho guy by standing up to some woman who works for the council - big deal you were slightly sarcastic to her....... big man!! Its funny that even though i have been stopped/had my name taken down or my actions noted countless times i've never been threatened with arrest or further trouble...i wander why that is? Because im polite apologize and move on, and i'm not some arrogant little willy with a point to prove to someone who is clearly never going to understand where you are coming from, or what the hell the sport is around, they will only see you as a trouble maker and theres nothing you can do about that. Threads like this are getting beyond a joke with so many comments like....''yeah i was going to tell them to f**k off'', ''i was going to hit him'' and so on....for f**ks sake why does it seem lke this sport is full of such dicks?
  12. Music is my life. Some of my stuff. Haven't got a picture of the rest of my guitars and my pedalboard has now changed.
  13. I snapped the bearing case on my try-All BB but being replacable i didn't worry...but guess what they're not replacable! But bearings in ISIS BB's are a bit poo anyway, so what can you do - just gotta keep replacing them when they go!
  14. You could cut some ends off some old bars that are the same diameter (perhaps the bars you are replacing) about 1.5 inches each, then get some 19mm tubing (think thats the internal diameter of the monty bars/worth checking though) and use that to hold the extensions to the bars, that way you have a flush finish. Also if you have lock-on grips you can use them to hold the extensions to the bars. Whatever tubing you use, its quite good to use some that is painted first, meaning that its just a bit bigger than what the diameter suggests, that way you can really force the tubing in and the paint will kind of deform and help to hold it all together. Hope thats of some use.

    New Bars?

I extended mine because i am quite broad it felt a lot more comfortable with them at 29.5, it felt like my chest was really closed with them at standard width, but with them wider i felt a lot more free and it was a lot more comfortable on my shoulders, i didn't feel cramped or closed in, whereas i did before. Although from standard length to 29.5 inches is only quite a small extension it makes the differance, my friend asked me the same question the other day and i took the extensions out and showed him the position of my body compared to how it ws when the bars were extended and he could see how it helped - its just a feel thing, if you extend them you should extend them to what feels right and comfortable, it will make more sense when you have the bars, you'll soon know what width feels right. Extending them doesnt really compromise your spinning ability, i changed from narrower bars to extended montys and i can spin much more effortlessly now, its more down to the rise and sweep as opposed to the width. If you are quite small or nt that broad in the shoulders you may not need to extend the bars at all....see what worsk for you.

    New Bars?

Yeah the Montys are lovely, bunnyhoptastic and nice for your more conformist trials moves. I extended mine to 29.5 inches so still a fairly appropriate length, didn't want to overdo it, but it does make the world of differance.
  17. I haven't even put the tensioner on yet, i was just wrapping the chain round to see what length it needs to be shortened too, thats when i noticed it wasn't really wrapping around. I'm hoping it is a matter of bedding in, as it wraps perfectly around the 18tooth cog that comes with the cloud9 bashguard - but its soo tight with the surly its unbelievable.
  18. I'm replacing my drivetrain and i've just bought a KHE Collapse chain and Surly 15 tooth cog to go with my Heatsink Cloud 9 set up, its all brand new, no old parts. I've just set up the chainline perfectly straight and im trying to get the chain to the right length but it doesn't seem to want to wrap around the cog. I can get about three entire links to sit in the grooves of the cogs teeth, but every other link in contact with the cog doesn't line up, wherever the links in the chain join (the pins) seems to line up with the top of one of the cog's teeth meanig the chain wont sit in the cog. Having only three links in contact doesn't seem to great. I was wondering if i'm missing anything blindingly obvious or whether there is a problem of compatability between these two items, or has something just plain been manufactured wrong. I've heard of chain wrap issues with 14 tooth cogs, but not 15, is it due to the thickness of the KHE and would perhaps a KMC chain be better. Or does anyone else have this set-up and have either any problems, or finds it no poblem at all? Any feedback or info would be massively appreciated. Cheers, Matt.
  19. I just ordered a BB from them and it came very quickly, and they had great communications, told me when it was dispatched and so on. Just bad luck on your behalf i guess. Think how many customers places like that must get, the odd order is bound to be forgotten. It is massively annoying but it is just a part of life nowadays no need to get too worked up over. If you are unhappy never deal with them again, but while you may think there shit, i think they are good - so there is no point to this thread, we're not going to talk about who's shit and who's good - just forget it.
  20. Just came across these guys.... http://yesspro.com/index.php Seem to be a Canadian company making some cool bits...a crazy short trials/street frame and some novel chain tensioners. has anyone come acorss these guys before?
  21. I ended up just ordering a Gigapipe DH, there £29.99 at some online shop - i don't have any spares and i don't really want to spend ages trying to find the right bearings which will probably cost around £20 anyway! But still it is annoying.
  22. My original post ...... ''(im not talking about maggies)'' this discussion is for my Hope and Hayes disk. I'd have to travel a long way to pour it on my mums car, be easier to just pour it on my car!
  23. Thanks, the petrol station makes sense, don't know why i didnt think of that. Also seems like a much more reasonable price. Thanks again.
  24. Not the most well thought out or helpful brand out there though. I've just snapped the bearings in my Try-All BB and despite being described everywhere as having ''replacable sealed cartridge bearings'' apparently you are not able to get hold of these...... seems pointless to describe it that way if its impossible to get the replacement parts.... They have a lot of good ideas, but there not nessecerily carried out particularly well. It does get tiresome that when anything 'Koxx' or 'Try-All' breaks that someone says...''well its designed for competition use'', like thats 100% justifiable. I dont know, Koxx are great in some areas, shit in others!
