To try and get the ball rolling I'd make some airline style baggage labels saying "_____ bike repair", cheap prices etc, then go round town attaching them around the top tube of knackered looking bikes. Then obviously go round local shops seeing if they need any help. I'd suggest training to be another kind of mechanic though while you're doing your part time cycle repairs, the money is so much better.

Why does it matter about it working with styles disabled? Surely no one's ever going to view the site on a browser that doesn't support css, and if they do they don't deserve to be looking at the site?

You can get failsafes which close the throttle if signal is lost. Chances of that happening are very slim though, the distance cars get away from you is nothing compared to aircraft, and you wouldn't be able to see the model before you run out of signal. The only problem would come from some kind of electrical fault, of which the chances are pretty even between electric and nitro. Much more likely is a mechanical fault, this has happened to me several times on helicopters and is very scary... But yeah, don't worry about the throttle thing, it isn't an issue.

I'm a bit out of date with the rc models, but i'd advise perhaps spending around half that on a used car, then saving the rest for the ongoing running of it. Fuel = bumrape. Also it means you've got less sitting in the shed when you get bored of it, which is quite likely. The thunder tiger eb4 was pretty bezzin' when I was into rc stuff. Personally I think cars get boring real fast, helicopters are where the real fun is, I have two for sale at the moment
