Need some suspension advice from people who know about spring rates. I'm currently running linear 1:1 ratio 7kgf front and 5kgf rear springs. The setup is perfect for uneven tarmac, here's how the suspension works on bumps. The ride is quite harsh on normal roads so while it might look soft on video, it's because of 1G+ cornering forces. Need to find spring rates which will make the car bearable for driving on fields and unpaved roads, so probably similar to spring rates used on a completely stock 3 series. The problem is that stock cars have progressive springs front and rear and I'd also have to work out the suspension leverage on the rear axle since my rear setup differs from the factory one. Can this be worked out by obtaining the desired wheel frequency for such applications or is wheel frequency not what I should be looking at? I have absolutely no idea whether I should be looking at 10% softer springs or 40% softer springs. Obviously the car will be raised by a good 5-8cm. edit: found some strange info. 7kgf = approx. 400lb/in. Eibach Pro Kit springs are 148lb/in. Want the car to be softer than on the Eibach springs, so need to reduce the spring rate 3 (!!!) times?

Haha that must be pleasant and unpleasant at the same time There's one more of those that I remember, that you're running very quickly taking long and light steps. A bit like running in low gravity might be like but without bouncing up 10ft into the air

Been having epic manual dreams recently.

I've had my TryAlls for a good 3,5 2,5 years now. I'm a smooth, light rider who doesn't go big but I used to get through 2 sets of SL 4bolt forks each year, broke 5 in total. So this could give you an idea of how they compare. We did a slight mod to them when they were new, my friend who's a composite engineer glued Echo TR handlebars into the steerer using some kind of special bonding agent.

One of my competitors decided to visit the Ring, so finally got an international reference point. On his 4th lap of the track having never previously driven round it even in digital form, he did an 8:05 in a lightly modified E46 M3. He's analyzing vids and telemetry now and should be doing what he calls a "proper" lap tomorrow. Really looking forward to an update. After a few years of competing in sprint events we have a fairly good memory for corners but I didn't expect anyone could go so quickly round the Ring after 4 laps. Fingers crossed.

What do you think about this vid's? (about Ukraine)
Greetings replied to Clerictgm mk2's topic in Chit Chat
Would give it a 4/10 too but I'm no expert so should probably keep quiet. On a more serious note, I have absolutely no idea what is going on so difficult to give an opinion. I especially don't understand why religion is now being mixed into this conflict. edit: comments to this video suggest it's a joke. -
Just found this. It's a Seicento, not sure what's under the bonnet. The driver is a complete madman. Gets really interesting and rather amazing half way through when - probably - the rear tyres start to overheat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhwDCf30-aY

Yeah, but they absolutely rape discs. An interesting alternative to those two could be Ferodo DS UNO pads. They're made of a different compound than other pads on the market, apparently work from cold to extremely high temperatures and don't wear discs out. I once inquired about these but the price was a bit off-putting, could be because they were available on order only.

Something wrong elsewhere, not the pads themselves. I compete on these and DS3000 and never missed a beat.

Far prefer the extremely roll down quickly from bumpy hills bikes. They have a chair and hit a bump don't feel a thing devices on front and rear wheels.

Not entirely sure to be honest. My life is boring, I feel like I'm wasting it, I'm constantly waiting for something or worrying about the future rather than living day to day. Also have a lot of inertia recently, couldn't be bothered to do anything - be it a project or just going out. Far prefer inactivity to spending time doing something. Missus and dad say I need a holiday, I think I need a big change in life but with so much inertia already, that's not going to happen even when I figure out what to change.

Never understood this obsession with 3D. It's fine for documentaries or films where the chief attraction are the images themselves, not the plot. Angry/sad because I'm becoming increasingly unhappy with my life and I don't have a plan on how to change this.

Suppress the need to shout by closing my mouth if the pain is intense. If the pain is overwhelming I usually end up on the ground, otherwise I walk it off.

Would you like a world where males wear dresses
Greetings replied to bikeperson45's topic in Chit Chat
Wouldn't wear it, wouldn't condemn others for wearing it - at least not to the point I'd actually point a finger at someone. I would find it rather weird although that all depends on how the male version of the dress would look and whether it would differ considerably in appearance to the female version we know. -
Some onboard material from the last comp which was held on Saturday. My favourite and most adrenaline pumping round of the season. Managed to come 2nd overall, had a good chance for 1st had I not encountered technical difficulties. Super fun time starts at 2:50: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx5v3rqN7is As it turned out later on, my wheel almost fell off on that run. But due to driving all day with a diff which was about to fall off, I couldn't identify the noise correctly at the time. This is not mine but I'm absolutely astounded by it. We very rarely get women drivers in these competitions and they're usually not that good but this girl has absolutely mad skills. 2:50 and onwards for the really good stuff, amazing pedal work as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRj3QrfP4bc

That would be lovely

Gave the M3 a wash and waxed it quickly. Off on holiday, half way into it going to a competition if it takes place. Seems lots of people have gone off on holiday and there is little interest in this round so they might cancel it. It's the most adrenaline pumping round of the season and I'd really like it to take place... still from last year sums it up nicely. Trying to figure out whether lucky or good driver.

Thanks guys, some very sensible arguments there. Need to re-think this.
