  1. They're made by Shimano. Upgrade to an ENO. They're ok, but the Hope is way more powerful. Get the Hope brakes. As on all mods - yes.

--> QUOTE(joe b @ Nov 28 2006, 06:37 PM) ←Don't understand that bit about the sidehop's though. It sounds like your contradicting yourself; if my body is falling that is the tuck? Please explain... Yeah I don't know how to explain it. For instance in 01:32 you sidehop onto a rail. When you jump upwards, your bottom is roughly at the height of that roof in the background. By the time you pull the bike high enough to land on the rail, your bottom is already way "below" the roof. This means you're wasting your jump if you get me. Might be because you're not that big a rider? Best explained with some screenshots, for some reason I can't get them done.

Didn't see your last vids so I can't relate to them but this one was quite good. Nice music, fairly good editing (apart from repeating the same shots many times) and good riding. The only thing I'd say is work on your sidehops because when pulling up the bike your body starts falling down. Maybe don't tuck? It will look way nicer as well.
  4. Nice, I didn't actually know you owned a trials bike. Pretty much thought you were just a senile addition to this forum
  5. Indeed the adjustability is valuable, but what's good about having an open system in trials? Also, how do you mount that brake on a fork? I can only see one mount on the first pic The only good thing about RB is they make double-sided levers so you can use them on either side of the bars.
  6. It's quite interesting how all the German riders I've seen in videos have a unique style. This video is no exception, really good stuff
  7. Woho, just found some ROP's (really old parts) in my basement. These include a tensioner as pictured above made by Point, a 13T screw on chainring and a Shimano state-of-the-art freewheel (the teeth on the chainring are about 0.5mm deep!), a 1995 HS22 lever, 15 magura slave cylinders in various cool colours including raceline orange and blue. also found some bent monty bars which are in weak red colour and a cracked square monty stem. Whose got some biketrials stickers? Not that old (about 5-6 years) but wow it was so cool to have them: [attachmentid=8376] That guy on the left looks a bit gay.
  8. This is what i got last year (can't remember further back lol) Glasses for my mum and some stuff to decorate her room 100-pack of DVD-R's and a Scotch for my dad (i use the dvd's up anyway) for my ex: uhh no idea what this is called in english, it's a kind of very thin overcoat to wear around in the house usually before going to bed , then there was some underwear, a huge teddy bear, a perfume... i hate christmas it costs so bloody much but then at least one makes people happy well, there's some ideas for you to choose from
  9. Uploading onto: http://tv.isg.si/site/filebrowser/inur Since my internet is a bit slow recently (exceeded bandwidth) it will take a while to upload. File name is LTCPallets.mpg and once the .pureftp... file disappears from the list the file is uploaded. edit: also got a film called Saturday with Tart, Dave and a few other guys on Backren rocks and then in Derby riding with Neil if somebody's interested?
  10. Haha the Merida Fireball was the 1st bike I started riding trials on
  11. Seen it quite a while ago. Not bad, Ashton should learn that trick.
  12. Expected more from this thread Having ignored the point system, my answer would be no, my current bike (A1) has no character, it's just a heap of pipes welded together to give maximum durability and nothing else. My old bike (221Ti) had lots of character, gave a great feel on rocks, was springy and well... just different. It's hard to explain, on the A1 I feel as if I was sitting on it, whereas the Ti felt a part of me.
  13. Judging by his user name, he's 6 so give him more credit.
  14. I rode a 231Ti today, basically a standard build with a 25" rear wheel etc. After looking at the geometry yesterday I thought it'd be hideous bike to ride but it was amazing. Quite easy on the rear wheel, very nice position and the bike seems to have a lot of bounce. The stem on that bike was around 90mm, if there was something longer in there like 120mm I think it'd ride amazingly well. And the weight is a joke, the one I rode had a shifter, mech and full casette and must have weighed well under 10kgs.

Gosh... they're really getting bored in Koxxx
  16. I'd really like to know how this bike rides. I'm thinking about getting one myself in a few months. Any news about the geometry? How strong is the rear brake on such a small rotor? Does your wheel flex when the brake locks?
  17. 48" tap and 8ft flat gap to front wheel i'm also proud of being able to taphop and touchhop from a wheelie. kind of useless but fun
  18. I agree, it depends where though. I guess something like this is much less harmful than cheeky 13 or 15 year olds saying nasty things at people who disapprove of them riding on walls. Respect to other people is everything. Having read how some people on this forum treat the public I'm not surprised trials riders are detested. Over in my city 4/5 people who comment on our riding express themselves positively which I guess is the result of the average age of our riders (being about 24), the way they respect other people and the fact that trials is a rare thing to see. I'm almost sure this guy on the video had no intention of jumping onto a car and running away, then never turning up again. If you look at the video, at the end the driver is laughing with the policemen, rider and the people who took part in making the film.
  19. I really don't like white bikes, and this frame is just a normal and simple design anyway.
  20. Profiles are a tested product - Deng hubs aren't. Even if people say these hubs are exactly the same, I'd still go for a Profile because you know what kind of performance you can expect from them.
  21. When a falling apart Monty X-Lite was something everybody envied you and thought you were rich as hell to have such a bike
