  1. It really varies... about 2 years ago I loved to listen to music when riding but couldn't because I didn't have an MP3 player (just a cd player which for trials was useless). A year ago I got myself an MP3 player and realized that music doesn't make things easier. When I ride I need to concentrate on the bike and for this I need peace and quiet. Also I like doing things as quietly and smoothly as possible which is difficult when there's noise being fed into your ears. But yes, if I do ride with music, its mainly house or chillout yet it doesn't help me concentrate. It helps if riding alone.
  2. funny anzo bumped this topic, I just had it on an IT lecture
  3. IMO you will, but it'll happen gradually. After finishing uni you'll probably get a nice and well payed job and start getting promoted after a few years. Bet your ambitious and bright, and those are the only people who get to the top. Then it's hard work basically. People are greedy, and if they could be bothered to do something towards earning more money they will. Then the expenses go up etc. We are the future and we'll have to work our asses out to pay for the retired generation... which by then will statistically be much larger comparing to what it is now. Whose going to pay them their pension?

    A Sweet Bail

good to hear you're ok that looked very savage this will give me something to think about if i ever start doing drop-gaps get a khe collapse chain
  7. Not exactly sure if I'm allowed to post this but having run through the guidelines I feel fairly safe. I was listening to the radio today, and apparently the Church has allowed for the use of condoms.... ... but only for people who have AIDS. So (not that anybody here could be bothered) using a condom is a sin. Now why the hell do they insist on people not using them? I'd probably guess that most of you aren't religious, nor am I, but there's probably over 1 billion christians in the world and many of them will abide this rule. Do we want to finish up with a world as pictured in one of Monty Pythons' sketches? Simply: what's the point?
  8. Well, for a supercar it is cheap however I'm surprised it's still that high. Look at the prices of CRXes, 2000 quid and you've got a wonderful car with low mileage and in mint condition. edit: it's actually pretty sad, honda was a great company so where the other japaneese makes and now the sports cars they're releasing look crap (well, apart from the new accord i must say) and have no character. we can buy the old cars they made like the square civics, crxes or the nsx but in 10 years time these cars will all start to fall apart and getting one in good condition will be almost impossible. i remember back in 95 being excited about the aerodynamic-shaped and rounded off cars and now frankly speaking i'd rather have an old box-shaped dmc dolorian or something along those lines than the pictured S2000 replacement :|
  9. As we can see, already 8 people on e-bay have a fart-smelling fetish
  10. At the moment we've got different priorities in our lives. What matters is to earn some money, spend it on the car/bike and ride trials all day long. In 10/15 years (depending on how old you are now) you will have a family and with a stroke of luck some kids. Neither your wife nor the kids will want their dad to work in a supermarket. And you my friend won't be interested in biketrials any more. This passion will slowly deteriorate while you start spending more and more time at work for your family to lead a happy life. These are things only a few of us can probably imagine, I can't, I couldn't be bothered to have a family, I'd just like to ride, drink, sleep and sit on this forum. But things do change. Almost all of us will be married. At the moment: job = money money = fulfilling your urges This simple equation will get much more complicated in the future, you'll have to think about many other things before you can spend money on your necessities. But yes, for now I agree with you. I couldn't care less what I'd be doing as long as I have lots of free time and get payed fairly well, which over here is impossible. Yet all of you have a choice of what you want to do and that's very lucky. If I stay in Poland after finishing uni (which is doubtful) and get a very good job, I'll be earning monthly as much as I'll earn at the Wimbledon Championships this year over a period of two weeks. Just something to think about.
  11. why doesn't this vid want to load? i've got to see it
  12. Holy crap girls are just so stupid when they're young. Forget about them for the next two years or so, or you'll just be unhappy most of the time. Now it's your turn to go f**k 5 ladies and say goodbye to them. The attractive ones your age are all the same. Gone through this myself. And don't get back to that b***h she's just not worth your time nor your feeling. Teach her a lesson
  13. Nope, they've got lots of thread. Besides the standard build ZOO has/had an ACS freewheel and fixed rear Cranks can either have a short thread (like Monty ones) meaning you can't use a rockring, or a long thread which basically allows you to use both a bashring and freewheel/chainring
  14. The beginning was a bit boring I agree, but the rest was very nice indeed. It's good to see something different to the normal go-as-big-as-you-can movies. Liked the end as well. And you're lucky you've received some comments already, it's quite an achievement I must say
  15. these look like the strawberry fruitella sweets, zoo look like the lime ones which are out of production (they once sold a 3-flavour packet: lime, strawberry and lemon) but then got taken over by starburst and that line of sweets was discontinued. correct me if i'm wrong. we've got so many pads around, and many of which have been released recently were a failure i believe they test them but last summer my friend received a large amount of toxsin pads which wore out nearly completely after one ride and didn't at all brake well.
  16. Not quite sure if I get you, but the best thing you could do is to look for the cause of the problem. There's no logical explenation for it to work fine on the Onza, and not on the Monty. Did you have the cranks screwed in right to the very end of the bb before/now? The Zoo cranks are very very soft and within a matter of weeks they will become loose, so maybe now you can just screw them in further? In adition to that, a 128mm bb should be more than enough.
  17. much better now looks mint what's the real wheelbase?
  18. I had a similar problem about a year ago but really don't remember how I solved it. I also got a blue screen after re-installing windows over and over again. Will think hard today and if the answer enchants me I shall post it up. The black screen without any beeps, basically without anything is caused by a hardware problem. Refer to your motherboard instructions, they should cover this matter in the troubleshooting pages.
  19. So what? Dunno what this crap is but I'm not going onto that site

    Dreams

I always dream when I wake up and go to sleep for another hour or so. Most dreams are boring but throughout my life I have had a few in which I was conscious and could do anything I liked. That was ace but all of them were about terrorists attacking our house/car/school (no, I haven't played CS a single time) and frankly speaking I was quite scared. And the most uncomfortable dreams I have is me falling down. That's really crap Also: bike being stolen, my gf or parents dieing or my lizards being killed So probably I dream about things I dread most.
  21. There's something about these pads which makes me want to eat them ZOO pads look tasty as well
  22. Lets start a 05 Ti fanclub I'm sure Man on a mission would be interested VERY nice bike indeed, have fun riding it!
  23. After publishing pictures of my bike I have had several people ask me about how it is possible for me to be running a Chris King disc hub on a mod. This isn't as simple as: get a frame with a disc mount, buy a disc brake, and buy a king hub. I am going to refer to the Monty Pr/Ti frame, which is probably the most popular mod frame with a disc mount. What one has to do: -Get the right brake and right rotor diameter -Order a BMX hub with a ISO Disc shell -Buy a 3mm thick sheet of steel (size 8x6cm will be good enough) Firstly the brake: If you want to set the brake up easily it will be best if you get a post mount brake (i.e Avid or Hayes). This will save you a lot of trouble. If you've decided on buying a IS 51mm brake (ie. Hope Trials or Mini) there'll be more fitting work to do. When ordering the brake, one must buy a 20mm larger rotor than the brake will take. For instance a Hope Trials rear with a 180mm rotor. Don't buy a +20mm adaptor with the larger rotor. The Hub: Go to this page: www.aspirevelotech.com Write them an e-mail concerning a rear BMX hub with an ISO Disc shell. You should receive a reply straight away with all the extra costs (my guess is about 20-40 dollars extra). Wait 3-4 days for the hub once it has been dispatched by EMS. The adaptor: Now this is the tricky part. You will be needing a thick sheet of steel. Don't be put off by the mass (the sheet pictured below weighs over 5kgs). The adaptor once finished with will weigh no more than 50g. What makes this difficult: -Inappropriate tools - you will be working on a very hard piece of metal, and will need this done as accurately as possible (aaap) -Rounded off disc mount on the frame which is the greatest problem of them all. -Precision work, yet with a bit of luck you will make an ideal adaptor. Step 1 Screw the disc onto the hub. Place a 2mm thick washer in between the frame and the hub on the disc side of the hub (you'll need to bend the frame slightly for these additional 2mm to go in, but don't worry, nothing will happen to it). Mount the chain and align the wheel so that the disc doesn't rub against the frame (the wheel will be at a slight angle) and so that the chain is to your liking. Screw the wheel down. Here's how you do it: Because the wheel is at an angle, it will move slightly when screwing down one bolt. Therefore: -Firstly set the chain tensioners in the right place (check that the disc isn't rubbing against the frame) -Place the bike on the front wheel and bars so it stands upwards -Mark the position of the tensioners for future reference -Press down the wheel (lean on it) and tighten one bolt, then mark it or remember which it was. Then tighten the second one. The CK axle has a very strong thread so don't be afraid to screw them down with all your might. You will benefit from this in the future if you need to remove the wheel and put it back in. Thanks to this you won't have to align the caliper again. Mount the brake on your bike, lever on your bars etc. Place the caliper on the disc and then tie some rubber bands around the bar and lever so that the caliper is locked on the disc. Now align the caliper so that the pads are ideally on the disc race and so that the disc doesn't rub against the body of the caliper. Look into it from the top to see wether the pads are well aligned on the rotor. Hang some heavy objects on the spokes to keep the wheel down. Now you've got the natural position of the caliper in relation to the frame. This is the position which the adaptor will keep the caliper in. Get a piece of cardboard and cut it out so that it fits the frame and draw the position of the holes on it (you might want to use a pen to punch through the cardboard and into the holes of the frame/caliper to align them correctly). Depending on the size of holes you are going to drill, this needs to be accurate or can have a tolerance of 1mm. Take the metal sheet and using a sharp object (ie. a screwdriver) draw the outline of the cardboard adaptor. Step 2. Cutting it out You will want to work on a small piece of metal not a huge sheet, so cut out a simple shape and then grind it down to the exact shape you drew with the screwdriver. This will take a long time and you will need a bucket of cold water to cool the adaptor down whilst working on it. Step 3. Placing the holes This is the trickiest and most important part, so don't f**k it up or you'll have to start from scratch. Draw exactly where the holes are to be made (preferably using a thin pen, not as pictured below). Don't use a large drill straight away, first make a small hole, then a larger one. Depending on the grade of steel, you might have to use several drills before making the final hole. I used a 6.5mm drill for making the final holes. Note that you can't make too big holes because they are too close to each other. However making a larger hole than the screw, will allow you to move the caliper arround once mounted. Now, a short guide to making an accurate hole. Mark it: Puncture it: Use either a small drill or a hammer and sharp tool to make a little puncture in the metal. This will stop the drill moving arround when you start making the hole. Drill it: Place the adaptor in a vice (the piece of metal on the picture is purely as an example) and screw it down properly. Lube the puncture with oil and start drilling having placed the drill in the small hole (this will stop it moving around). Remember that each metal and drill has its own cutting speed so don't rev the drill. Press it down fairly hard and keep it at a low speed. Lube it when it gets dry. I was using a grotty drill so the hole isn't as perfect but at least it's in the right place Step 4. Getting it to work. This step might be frustrating due to human beings being equipped with two hands only. I presume that by now you will have an exact copy of the cardboard adaptor. Lets mount it on the frame. We will need two screws and two nuts, plus some washers. M5 screws are ok for this purpose. Screw->washer->adaptor->frame->nut (w/o washer!) Make sure that the screws don't stick out far enough to scratch the disc. If so, use some more washers. Now we need to align the adaptor. As I wrote previously, the disc mount on the outside of the frame is rounded off. Get an adjustable spanner and waggling the adaptor get it as straight as you can (looking from the rear). Make sure that the adaptor is firmly screwed down before doing this. A diagram explaining why this needs to be done: Dark gray - frame Brown - adaptor This is a bit exagorated, the thick red line shows the angle of the adaptor, and by bending it you need to get it paralell to the blue and red lines. Grab the adaptor like this and bend away Step 5. Mounting the brake This will take quite a while. Get out as many washers of different thickness as you have. The standard Hope washer kit will be enough. Be careful when picking up the extra thin ones, i got one jammed in between my finger and nail. This is an example of washers I am using and which align the caliper correctly. Screw it down. Tips on aligning the caliper: -Firstly check looking from the back of the bike, if the caliper is exactly parallel to the disc. If it isn't remove the caliper and go back to step 4. -When you think you have aligned the caliper correctly (no drag) press the brake lever and look closely at the disc. If the disc moves to the side when pressing the lever, you will need to rearrange the spacing of the washers. Step 6. Make sure everything is screwed down properly and that no screws are rubbing against the disc (some poke out). Well done!
  24. Dave that was a bit harsh and with respect, untrue. Trials is not only about silly drop gaps or big moves and I'd say it takes much more skill to ride the way Felix does than to fall down onto rails etc. In addition to that, I wouldn't say that the obstacles he rides are small, it's his height which makes them look so. Great movie, you two are by far the most inspirational riders I've ever seen on video. Pity to see so little riding from Felix though.
