That Forbidden is stunning, Druid?

Yeah it's a Druid. Fell in love after test riding this very one 2 years ago and the stars aligned very nicely with its previous owner and I managed to get my hands on it.

Love the Airdrop Fade

I think this is my new favourite bike, made quite a few adjustments since last post:

- built up an i9 hydra for the rear (thanks Tarts for speedy delivery!)

- pike DJ forks

- new longer rear hose

- removed front brake

- Burgtec 30t sprocket

- shadow supreme chain

- 14t rear

- Burgtec saddle

- stripped the stem and spacers silver

- ODI longnecks

- cut down seatpost

Had an absolutely huge slam at the pump track on Saturday.. 2 front teeth smashed through my face, broken ribs and many other minor injurys. Helmet saved me big time. Anyways, plenty of time on my hands this week so figured I’d do a post.

Get well soon!

Loose also one tooth and broke another one in a crash at the pumptrack <_<

But still love to ride it!

The bike looks sweet. The bottom bracket seems to be quite high too me (for this kind of bikes), which could be great for some trial moves.

Cheers dude and sorry to hear you’ve had the same! I’m very lucky to have got away with the minor injuries I did.

BB is lower since switching to the 100mm fork, rides much better. I’ll get a decent outdoor photo once I’m back in action.

A couple of changes to the eeb of late also:

- black tape over all frame logos

- tech 4 V4s (insane power)

- gravity stem

- one up 35mm risers

- stripped the cascade link raw

- new motor

- vittoria Mazza’s f + r, enduro casing

Quite glad to see the back of the purple.

Bikes had some tweaks. Just come back from a week of riding around the FOD area and she's running an absolute dream.

Now running 160/141mm f/r travel with the addition of the Cascade shock link. Oneup bar/stem, dropper and EDC tool. Fresh Hayes Dominion A4 brakes, along with a full stripdown, new bearings throughout and a full fork service

Surprise foldie attack! Spent a week in Singapore with my sister in the summer and got the urge for a foldie when I got back. Looked at Bromptons, Brompton clones, Decathlon bikes etc. but fancied something a little bit different so got myself a second hand Birdy. Quirky little thing but I do quite like it! Couldn't leave it be so immediately removed the mudguards, stand, swapped the saddle, rear 'shock', tyres and grips before sticking on some matchy matchy DMR V6s and a Zee derailleur as the original super long cage mech was actually hitting the ground on some corners!!

After a week of riding serious elevation and distance in the lakes, I realised the levo SL wasn’t cutting it for me.. 35nm vs my dad’s 90nm was a real struggle. I decided I wanted to stick with a lightweight eeb but with more power, the Orbea Rise has been the perfect bike for my needs. I’ve just tipped 1100 miles on this enduro eeb beast, absolutely love it for all types of riding.

I’ve decked it out with some silly spec, because who doesn’t love throwing money away:

i9 hydras on Roval carbon rims

Hope tech 4 V4s

5dev cranks

Hope f22s

Hope gravity stem

Oneup bars

EXT Storia V3

2023 36 grip2

Fox transfer

XTR cassette, XT shifting

Conti Kryptotal / Argotal

King headset

Two new bikes, one for getting to work and winter road bike, and one for the dry. The trek looks a lot nicer in real life, and it is rapid. Went waxed chain on the summer bike as it won't get that much use 🤣

Picked up the trek on the cycle2work scheme and transferred all the stuff to the tifosi as I had a group, bars and wheels already. The Rostra Frameset was a bargain at £240!! so I think its around £2350 all in for both bikes, which Im pretty happy with.

Really digging the retro rides at the moment. So here’s a few I’ve built / been building recently:

Cannondale F700 retro mod. Rides great, took it for a spin around Sherwood pines on Friday and it handled it surprisingly well:

Alpinestars CR400. Got the frame and fork super cheap, welded some disc mounts to it, building it up with some shiny parts. I’ve had it built up already and it’s a great ride for winter off roading. No fuss, BB7s and wide tyres on a 1x. Thinking a dropper post would be fun:

Sunn Tonic: the French rival to Kona. The super thin shiny silver tubes drew me in on this 1998 MTB. Naturally I’ve changed a lot, including upgrading the brakes to avid arch rivals. The wheels are Mavic / Hope ti-glide, more modern bar and stem, and some Billy bonkers to aid the gravel / road riding I have in mind for the summer:

My current steeds.

Couldn’t resist a mega deal on a new rise in the sale, swapped over the full spec from my old one.

Just finished building an airdrop fade once again. Regretted selling my last one and those that know me are aware quite how much I like a yellow frame. Think I’ve painted 4 inspired’s the same yellow.
