  1. Yeah, fair point. In terms of preference though, disc all the way. I don't manage to contaminate them enough for it to be a real concern for me, so that didn't even enter my mind I'd have the same on the rear - potential contaminiation and all - if I could go longer than 5 minutes without bending a rear rotor
  2. Disc and Magura, but put Jitsie pads in the disc. They make a disc feel as powerful and snappy as a Magura, but you get to enjoy the lush silence and modulation benefits of a disc. It is a bit heavier, but not enough to be worth worrying about.
  3. Yep - some dodgy camera work for sure, but that place looks FUN to ride. Anybody fancy a trip to Russia?
  4. That post was in response to Dan Cox, and the drunkards mentioned in it were those at Radfest. I've no idea if you were included in that group or not. You said you were bringing lots of beer, so I just wanted to point out getting lashed might not be a great idea. That was all.
  5. Not really though. I was just putting it out there. Radfest has always seems a bit of a "lads weekend out" - ride your bikes and get drunk at night. If this year's Tarty Days is anything like last year's (which it seems it will be), it's quite a different vibe and attracts quite different people. The fact he's planning on bringing that much alcohol made me think he might not have been aware of the difference between the events so just thought to mention it. Is that Ok? Even taking kids out of the equation, there are many teens/twenty-somethings who don't enjoy dealing with drunken people being wankers. I know I found it very frustrating - I went to the early Radfests to see people I'd not seen in a long time and get as much riding done as possible. I didn't want to be kept awake by other peoples' "banter", which made me super tired the next day so couldn't ride as much. That's just how that event is though, so whatever. Sorry for trying to make it enjoyable for everyone.

Ahhhhhh. That bit by the M69? Never did get 'round to going there :/ One day!
  7. So, so good. Enjoyed the hell out of that!
  8. Agreed. Seriously cool riding, but something other than front wheel pivots once in a while would be nice
  9. Drinking's fine, but please bear in mind there's going to be quite a lot of young kids and families there.

"Local" 'eh? You kept those spots rather quiet... Seem to be fairly on it, despite not riding. Have either of you ever ridden a bike more than three times before changing it for something else?
  11. I'd been hoping for a full video after seeing loads of individual clips on FB. That was cool!
  12. I was beginning to suspect something like that I got the rest - watched the info video Did you write the tracking patch, or base it off something else? I found Jitter to be a complete and total bitch with the Kinect, but then I was only fooling around and had no vested interest in actually making it work. Haha. Did you use an XBox or Windows one? It could've been cool to put a sensor of some sort in the wheels - I'd wager you could even route a speedo in - and patch the speed/accel of each wheel through to an LFO or delay or something. Or maybe stick some piezo's on brake levers and feed that to MIDI events. Stick a ratchet strip on up against a pot for an analoge signal, and then combine that with the wheel speed signal could be really interesting. Wheels on FM and levers on Mod or something. Probably want dual disc for that I guess. Man, this actually sounds really fun. Stick another pot on the topcap and patch that to Pan, and you/bike could basically become a synth voice! Haha.
  13. Cool! Didn't know there were any other Max/MSPers on here. Are the sensors in the wheels controlling anything? I've been trying, but can't spot any correlations.
  14. It's about half-way between a trials bike and a BMX. Very quick, direct, and insanely tetchy. It's great for street if you're accustomed to a regular mod, and doesn't sacrifice too much of the "trialsy" feel, but it is short. You have to throw some pretty odd body shapes for it to work for sidehops etc, but it's a worthwhile sacrifice, in my opinion.
  15. Surprisingly, it's fine! Can't really believe it - most of the welds on it are absolutely gash, but it doesn't creak and it's showing no signs of cracks. Looks like I'm stuck with all this excess tubing now Hahaha.
  16. There's one in the works. Got about a minute's worth of clips at the moment. Gimme just a couple more weeks, I beg of you
  17. I love these videos. Do you ride more varied and mostly just film dropgaps, or do you do dropgaps and nothing else, so that's all you can film?

    arc sin(-1):

    That was super cool.
  19. Well that was just ridiculously awesome. How tall are you? That's by no means a small bike, and you look massive on it! (Almost as massive as your riding )
  20. So, so good Camera-work at Barrow Farm was a bit dodgy, but the rest was pure awesome!
  21. That was superb. Taiwan looks so good for riding. Rocks everywhere! Are there many riders there? Most videos only show one or two in each video so it looks like there aren't many, but there looks so much to ride! Really want to go there now. Haha.
  22. I'm not saying you shouldn't consider it at all - if it's what's important to you then fair enough - but I can't help but feel you guys concentrate on weight too much. Wouldn't you rather have a frame the same weight as rivals that lasts long enough for you to choose to change from, rather than one that's tried to be too light and you HAVE to change because it cracked? Speaking of which, I guess this should be pretty decent. There's only six welds on the bloody thing! I like that it's unique and am most interested to see how they fare in terms of longevity, but I have to agree with the haters - that thing is uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugly.
  23. In principle, I hate these videos. In practice, I love them. There are few things that frustrate me more than people doing things a certain way just because other people tell them that's how it should be done. I was indifferent to this type of video back when it was how everyone made them, but now that it's just the few remaining who genuinely enjoy that style doing it, I love them. (Plus it gets me all sentimental from the days when I'd just started riding ) Please continue to ignore the haters (who are surprisingly, but thankfully neglecting to post such hate in here thus far, but will no doubt amble along soon enough). (P.S. Gratz on the CLS dropgap in Sheffield. That's a hefty bugger!)
