Tubeless on a mod rear wheel. Could it be done?
aener replied to Herbertlemon102's topic in Trials Chat
Several have tried on 26", and an equal number complained of too-frequent burps. I'd imagine it would only be the same or slightly worse on a 19". -
I found sanding the paint off the back of the pad backings 100% affective and much simpler Cool to know an alternate way though!

Jesus guys... The frame might be old but it's hardly bad, and the hubs and cranks and headset alone would cost you nearing £300 second hand! You could probably batter him down to quite a low price what with how the second hand trials market works - but then you'd be robbing your friend, which in my books would make you a dick I'm with Frazer - £400-£450, assuming it has decentish brakes.

I feel like I should find stealth bikes boring, but I'm such a sucker for matte black. Love it.

Yes. I do. And I know you know I do, but I do so much that I'm saying it on here, too.
-
I tried without one for a while and me headset kept coming loose. Mind you, it does that even WITH a top-cap. Only doesn't do it with a threaded top-cap/steerer type.

I obviously did a lot of riding I was happy with that didn't conform to those rules. A lot of the time I forced stuff to fit so that the line did, but these are the ones where I couldn't/didn't.

I would've said closer to £70, but I'm constantly surprised by how little people let parts sell for so Nick's probably closer to the reality Hubs/freewheels have come a fair way since the Mono (by which I basically mean they have a lot more EPs ), so people just don't want to pay for them. It also doesn't help that trials riders en masse are as fickle as mountain bikers, and they'd be even harder to sell since none of those parts have the currently fashionable logos branded on them :(

Cool. That's absolutely not what your wording led me to think you were trying to say. I apparently read things in other ways to than how they were intended quite often, and the misunderstanding causes quite a bit of friction

...What - like pretty much every street-oriented trials bike has been doing for the past 4-5 years? This doesn't break any moulds - it's a slight tweak to suit his preference. I don't really understand anally sticking below 1000mm seemingly just for the sake of it. (Unless it's a massive coincidence that he wanted that reach and head-angle, which worked out at 999mm.) Looks a bit weird for some reason. Maybe it's the ridiculously high front end, or maybe just because it's so steep (or a combination thereof). Doesn't look bad, but it's not for me

No - you wouldn't. This is what I was referring to. Mars has ~0.38x Earth's gravity. Yes, you could sidehop a lot higher, and yes, you would come back down slower than on earth. If you went to the Moon, this would be even more exaggerated due the the even lower gravitation force (~0.16x Earth's). "Zero gravity" refers to exactly that. There is no force pulling you back toward whatever surface you jumped off, and you would just keep going forever. (Or until you hit something, anyway.) You would sidehop very high and come back down very slowly in very low gravity, but in zero gravity you'd just keep moving until something stopped you, like an astronaut in the ISS. (I'm not trying to be a dick - just wanted to point it out. Sorry if it came over a bit hostile.) Edit: Just re-read and realized you might have been talking about sidehopping on Mars whilst he was talking about 0G. If that's the case then feel free to ignore this post

I know I keep getting injured though and I don't want the older clips to get too old. Thanks all

Fancied a slightly different approach to how I went about filming, so decided self-imposed restrictions might be fun! "All clips in this video must comply with the following rules: 1) Must contain at least one component widely regarded as an element of trials riding. 2) Must contain at least one component widely regarded as an element of BMX riding. 3) At least one component of each element allowing the clip to satisfy rules 1 and 2 must bring merit to it. (No token efforts, basically.)" I did want a couple of other clips, but I seem to be just going from one injury to another at the minute so gave up and made do with what I had Edit: I obviously did a lot of riding I was happy with that didn't conform to those rules. A lot of the time I forced stuff to fit so that the line did, but these are the ones where I couldn't/didn't.

Yeah. Sorry, it was the "zero gravity" bit I was referring to.
-
...I think you should read up on how gravity works

That was cool Now if you don't mind, I'm off to watch Cameron Wood!

Still think the front end of that frame looks absolutely awful, but I'm willing to look past that (and the music choice and temporal changes) to admire the ridiculous riding. Hovering around the 0.5°K mark!

One shaped like celery rather than a Snickers you fat b*****d.

My new fresh built, Inspired 4Play with custom parts.
aener replied to Perez's topic in Bike Pictures
I really like the stickerbombing, but won't your feet rubbing on the cranks pull them off/wear through them? It'll be a shame, 'cause it looks sweet -
What a treat to arrive home to that was. Ace

Yes. That's exactly what that was. I'm just a mindless drone that will regurgitate anything I'm told to.
-
Just to prove his point - I disagree. I rather dislike the Arcade bars and would never run them in favour of the TT HR.

I'd be pretty excited at getting that for that price! A lot of it is quite "ordinary", but that should be a really decent, solid build. The only exception might be the rear hub as we can't tell what it is from that picture. If it's a Hope then I'd jump on that asap, before he sells it to someone else If it's not a decent rear hub, replacing that and the cranks will leave you with a fantastic bike for a really good price.
