  1. Finally turned being grumpy into something productive, got a bouncy-as-f**k tune to show for it. Nice.
  2. I have. Even something as rudimentary as my Land Rover took 3 years hard graft to put back on the road. If it's running, keep it running - only strip it right down if absolutely necessary.
  3. I bought some from army surplus a few years a go, been great - even stopped an angle grinder when I dropped it on my arm. Good for just covering yourself up, if you want something like Robin posted thought they're about as far removed as you can get...
  4. 3 months a go I asked one of the girls I live with if she was gonna live with us next year, or if she wanted to move in with her girlfriend who's been staying with us. She said she wanted to stay with us. Turned down a few offers of other places off the back of that. Fast-forward to today; "sorry, i'm moving in with Char next year as she needs a place from August - hope you guys get sorted" You utter, utter cunt.
  5. Right then, Ride is happening on the 18th May this year, will no doubt be some degree of riding on the saturday but if you can only make one, PLEASE make it sunday! You can find the facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/487567081372064/ All welcome, just spare a thought for what the day's all about. This is the biggest street ride of the year, so come on down and see what all the fuss is about. Please share this around as much as possible, it'll be 10 years this time round - would be great to have a huge one. See you at the Guildhall: 11am, sunday 18th May.
  6. JJ, this isn't the place for being a drama queen. I'm gonna start a new thread, if a mod could lock this or something that'd be great.
  7. I did my fronts as an emergency with a craw bar, did the job. Cracked and flaked the paint off, but I just went over that with a rattle can after. Need to do the rears too, but i'll be doing that considerably more 'properly' Just be gentle, steel's surprisingly soft.
  8. Been looking at insurance for the Capri too, best so far is £400 fully comp with Elephant through some comparison site (it actually worked for a change) - could've been £350 but Admiral apparently don't cover suspension mods... Who do you guys recommend looking at? Glad to hear the good news about the pop Jardo, that thing's a honey. Still thinking silly conversions or keeping it period now?
  9. Find a Shimano, i've never known anything better/ cooler!
  10. Came within 6" of writing off the Capri and a Mk5 Golf R32 today. He came flying round a very tight corner on a lane, I locked up and went across the rear quarter and up the verge. No contact and both alright, but sheeeeeeit. Had to stop for 10 minutes and chill out, was pretty terrifying. Then it rained and everything got a whole lot worse for the remaining hour, horrible horrible drive home. Need some new tyres asap, what does everyone rate more - Rainsports or T1-Rs?
  11. just messaged Sue, will let you know a confirmed date next couple of days though. Book up for the 18th May though.
  12. the 'shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshiiiiiiiit' braking for the completely oblivious Range Rover at the end is what makes it.
  13. 'nuff about plus gas. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152073180127683
  14. You've got some amazing hair. Who do you play with? I miss gigging big time
  15. I just couldn't be arsed basically - by the time I got there turning around and coming home again was pretty low on my to-do list regardless. Snap decisions are never good; she knows she's in the shit and is far from out of the woods yet, i've just let it lie for now while I weigh up what happens next.

Not at the moment, still hugely cash-strapped Everything's gone into either rent or travel, i'll pick up something else one of these days!
  17. for now yeah, we'll see how it goes. seems like she was royally f**ked and he's well known for being a bit predatory with drunk girls. He needs a good slap and she's got a lot of making up to do I think.
  18. so apparently 'er indoors got pissed up friday and kissed some kid from uni. By all counts it was 6 of one, half a dozen of the other but f**k me i'm pissed off with the pair of them. cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  19. really?? surely that only matters if it's really f**king loud?
  20. haha, not at all mate! Sorry if it came across that way Older blokes who go on about that do make me laugh, they're quite well behaved really. Having said that I did spin it at 20mph in the rain when it first arrived... :$
  21. that's quite impressive but he really needs that speedo calibrating
  22. This is my thinking. It does alright on the standard tyres, just looks a bit spacky/ could be significantly better. I just spoke to a guy who regularly breaks 2.8 specials and apparently he'll do me a complete LSD Atlas axle for £500, so not much more than the wheels and tyres. So tempting to do that and get friendly with the local part worn place... Pffft. What am I, 50? The amount of times that comes up at petrol stations is a joke. I've never known a 140bhp car be considered such a monster in my whole life.
  23. already fixed! that article was about two months old, they kinda forgot I sent it to them Turned out one of the track control arm bush had disintegrated. that was my thinking Adam, it's pretty much 'in order' there but the temptation to put a slipper in is huge...
