Arranged a deal on one of my brake levers with a guy - 30 quid plus a 'brand new' tech lever i can sell for 50 odd quid. Arrived today, pissed brake fluid all over the table, bolts are rusted up and it's missing a reservoir cap bolt. What is the f**king point.

Beers were drank, yarns were spun and I now have an Olympus XA2 for the price of a pint. Charlie is a diamond.

Yeah man, we've all been there - it's total bullshit but it is just a very shitty part of life. Thought I could've easily been with my first forever and ever (again, 15ish through to 18 or whatever it was) but as said; shit gets too serious and it all falls apart. It's a shame, but it happens. I'm with Jason though, as much as you could go get her back you should really weigh up whether or not it's worth it. My ex is happy now, I know that much. I'd like to be friends with her at some point and we do check in with each other very infrequently (or bump into each other in town, that's great... not.) but i'd never dream of f**king up what she's got at the minute. Similarly, i'm perfectly happy doing what i'm doing. Had a great time, didn't work out, both of us are now happy doing things more suited to ourselves.

Known a guy for a while who's a f**kin' sweet designer, got a few one off's of his on my wall at the minute. Always knew he was in a pretty decent band a fair while back but never really thought about it too much. Turns out he's played with Mudhoney, Hole, Jawbreaker, Operation Ivy, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips and toured with Nirvana in '89. Awesome.

Whether he gets riding again or not, what a video to go out on! Absolutely incredible. He'll get back on his feet at least.

Got a sweet deal on a full M16 240mm set up - probably not gonna be the best in the world but it'll be an improvement and can always be upgraded again some time in the future when some cheap decent calipers come up or something. Just wondering about pads now, really. What are our views on Mintex M1144s?

Just been talking about it more and she's potentially coming down tonight 'cos texts are shit and I assume she feels like a twat for last night, seems so confused about the whole thing. Yeah she's being a complete melt about it - she's said stuff about Christmas etc and calling it off properly after that when we go back to uni in January which is just stupid. It's gonna make life 1000x worse if we've actually had a good time together so i'm gonna limit that as much as possible. Been over this kinda thing before and to be fair i've usually done the whole 'we'll sort it out, it's fine etc etc etc' but it was just kinda different last night. yeah this'll be on it's way to double that haha. At the moment there's a tonne of travel in the pedal no matter how much I bleed it (m/c?), it does lock the wheels though when i really ask it to, and generally fades pretty badly (admittedly pads would sort that) Main reason for looking at new brakes is that i'm switching the 3.0 struts for some coilover converted 2.8 Bilsteins which have different brake mounts and hubs, so whatever happens I need new calipers and discs.

Ah ok, how did you find the Ultralites? They're a lot cheaper than the Billets, so it's one i've definitely been drawn to. I'm just trying to step up the performance really - i've currently got standard 3.0 brakes (pre Capris using M16s) at the moment so i could potentially try those calipers and decent pads out, just don't wanna drop a load of cash on them and realise they're not much cop either! I've been trying my best to get them free/ cheap, got a bit off but nothing major which sucks

No idea when it comes to the Wilwoods to be honest, seems to be about a thousand variations on the same caliper! I've been looking at the Hi Spec Billet 4, so whatever their equivalent would be I guess? I just want something fit and forget really.

Brakes. Hi-Spec vs Wilwood, what would everyone go with? Or is it worth going for one of the kits that allows the fitment of Brembos nicked off another car?

Lomography cameras - talk to me. Been looking at something small and fun for my girlfriend to play with (i know, i know, she's already got me etc) just wondered if anyone has anything to look at that springs to mind? Looked at the Diana Mini, but for the price of that i'm guessing i might find something a little better? I reckon she'd enjoy the Lomo stuff in terms of the double exposures and general vibrance of it, but is it really worth a punt against an old Olympus Trip or something, for example? She's plenty competent technically, so i'm also just wondering if being stuck at F8 with a lot of them is gonna be a bit of a buzz kill. Open to anything and everything i can get for sub £50.
