  1. Finance? Anything will fit if it's the right mount, surely they're just standard ford 4x108? TROYstan; really beg to differ with that second to last line - i've just driven the Capri back mostly sideways. When you get used to what the car's gonna do, you really shouldn't need that safety net unless you're paying next to no attention to what's going on when you're driving
  2. How has no one else picked up on this?! f**k that for a laugh - rip sweet prince.
  3. http://www.wilsonsauctions.com/cars-location/505 bit of an interesting government auction!
  4. Agreed! Fingers crossed mine's alright, paid up my first month's rent but if they need any more from me before mine comes in i'm f**ked.
  5. Have you not got a tracking number for either item?
  6. Have to agree with Alan there! Jesus. Get on the blower to Josh, he seems a good bloke so even if it is outside warranty he should be able to re-weld it and get a gusset on for you.
  7. That's everything i've wanted to hear, really! Will teach her enough to get by and hopefully she'll then be able to look after it herself. It's currently decked out in the back as a van with some mad speakers in either side, however all the rear seats and brackets etc are still with it and can be put back in easy, think i've got some serious give and take to do here and could potentially get it for a very nice price.
  8. Shit yeah, my bad - it's a mk2 on an E reg, wrote that in a bit of a hurry earlier! Has the 4+e box which is interesting to know about the ratios, cheers. The car belongs to a mate of mine and i do know some history of it, from what i remember it was stripped, resprayed and rebuilt around 4 years a go and was solid from what i can remember. Nice little thing, think it's a 1.3 lowered a little on some ATS Classics (probably reps but you get the general idea) It's a car for my sister, i'd quite like her to have it 'cos it'll be doing several people a favour and she was always after an early Golf, so could be a nice compromise. Glad to hear maintenance is easy, that's just what i'm after for her. Will go have a drive of it/ look it over properly tomorrow - if there's one thing i know it's rust Cheers!
  9. Mk1 Polo breadvan, any particular issues i should look for?
  10. You gonna get some mesh on that? Looks like it means business though...
  11. Have been looking into supercharging it actually, certainly would be different! Still looks like the Cosworth is most likely, but i do wanna get a mad Essex back in it one day.
  12. I think wife's trying to kinda cool things off with us. Hmmm.
  13. Apparently i'm big into asian music.
  14. That Ferrari vid is fantastic, really nice to see a car getting the treatment it deserves. Mad to think how the F40 must have seemed back then! In me news, i'm scared of my tyres in the wet and need to change them asap. It also turns out the big boss man of Burton Power is one of the regulars at work - small (convenient) world.
  15. Since when did Steve Redgrave buy Prawn's car?
  16. Bit heavy, but karma strikes in the strangest ways; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-23935768
  17. Paul's got it. At the end of the day, it's never gonna be my old man's car so i may as well build it up into something useable and still awesome, then if i ever get the guy to part with dad's, i could probably do a straight swap for it and then be eternally happy. Also, the conversion is biiiiiiiiig dollar which i'd much rather pour into making it go faster.
  18. That's a little bit cheeky Harry! Loving your work. And yeah i have done, realised just how much a tidy 3.0S with a near full history could be worth one day given the good ones are all between 10-15k now. Gonna do a few choice things to it, keep it all reversible and just see what happens really. Gonna respray and retrim it at some point, probably still BOA it for a bit as apparently engine mounts etc are the same, then go back to a re-built and nicely tuned essex at some point. Here's one for you - brakes. I'm going to put some Hi-Spec 4 pots on the front, with the 9" rear drums would 285mm discs be overkill? Or would it be worth doing that and sorting out a rear disc conversion to go with it? I think 260s would probably be more than adequate, but if i can go bigger without completely ruining the brake balance it'd be quite nice and leave the rear disc conversion open for the future.
  19. That looks awesome Robin, so 80's it hurts! I also took a picture of today's efforts;
  20. Good: Wheel bearings adjusted, no more shakes, made a jazzy little front splitter from a Megane bumper, looks a lot less arse-down now. Bad: A lot of my passenger footwell fell off.
  21. Yuck, Foals and King Krule tickets booked. Winning.
  22. Perhaps i worded that wrong - everyone's gonna have questions but the people it's aimed at already know they're keen on the idea of one. I just mean to say it's not gonna be for the kind of person who buys an 07 Fourplay, puts a 130mm stem on it and still wonders why it doesn't ride like their GU Typhoon did. Got a lot of respect for Inspired for doing that to be honest, it's a proper no-compromise build and is absolutely incredible for it.
  23. I'm getting so very, very impatient. As Mark says, this isn't going to be a funky alternative to a Fourplay, it really is a completely different kettle of fish. If you need to ask why it's so radically different, it's not gonna be a bike for you. Having said that, if anyone reading this wants to buy one and realise they hate it within a week they're welcome to do that and sell it to me on the cheap.
  24. Did someone say lows/ make it go round corners?
  25. I've still got a massive lob-on for these but sweet jesus i hope they'd hurry up and release them.
