You still won't be allowed to drive an un-roadworthy car, just the responsibility of keeping it in check is solely the responsibility of the owner (who with pre-60 cars would probably be keeping it well up to scratch anyway) Old commercial stuff's been MOT exempt since the 80's with no issues. I'll probably still stick mine through an MOT once a year or so just to check everything's in order, anyway.

It weighs a little over a tonne with a 120bhp turbo diesel and range rover gearing so it's not that slow! With the 200tdi it should return about 45-50mpg driven right with the big gears i've got for it Putting the hours aside this will owe me around £2-2.5k in parts/ buying it in the first place when it's done. I'll openly admit it looks shit on the outside but it's mint underneath the bodywork. I like it ratty. Was stripped right down to this; new crossmembers to replace the old rotten ones; replacement bulkhead built from scratch; and then coming back together; Still got a Rover 3.5 V8 on carbs in there at the moment, wish i could afford to keep it but it's just not practical EDIT: that video is SO GOOD!!! Politics aside - Inur, that looks awesome. I trust you're losing the green wheels though? And what's the engine plans? Remember you were having all manner of trouble with the V8 last i checked. Glad it's gone down well, not that i've had too much to do with this one bar being a camera bitch - definitely makes for good motivation to get more out soon

Very good point there! I think Mark makes a good point too, i met a few riders pretty local to me who've never heard of TF a few weeks back, maybe times are changing? I'm in no way saying this forum's redundant, maybe it's just a matter of us as riders/ forum regulars ourselves actively trying to steer people in this direction. With no validation system anymore, i can't see how anyone would really be put off by it like they sometimes used to be. When everyone's got over the fact things have changed and start putting up some real topics as opposed to shit about washing machines i think it'll start to work back toward how things ought to be.

The real issue here is we've lost a lot of members who used to make this place what it was. No FP, Scopse, Fishy, Haz, Circus, Mansfield Mandem vs the world arguments, very little Kev and Dr Nick for example.

Been thinking about getting on the running thing for a while, my overall fitness is generally pretty appalling and i'd quite like to sort that out... I've read over it but am still a bit curious, for wanting to build up stamina/ burn some obesity, is it always gonna be best to go for long and slow stuff? Any advice on getting started/ what to look out for/ things to do to optimise the time i'm putting in? And also, shoes again... I've got the choice of some Vans chukka boots or my mid-top Nike Mavericks which i usually ride in and approximately £0 to spend on new shoes unless it's gonna be really necessary. Do i really need all the support or will either of the above fitted right (i.e not half undone like they are when riding) be ok?

From what i can figure it was a pretty shady set up ("pay me now, my mate's got the bike round the corner"), Joel went round with the police and got it back, from then on i've no idea what went on as all i've got from him has been big smiley faces in texts haha! Sounds like shit would've gone down had it been me, Mark and Sam as back up instead of the federales though...
