  1. There go another 3; Enstroga, Igloo and Symbio.
  2. It's not as bad as you might think: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/09/energy-firm-gone-bust--how-your-new-firm-and-tariff-stacks-up/ Considering there are currently no cheap deals and we're all f**ked I don't think it's too ridiculous. Having said that I haven't seen the actual kWh rates etc. yet so it may still be an unpleasant surprise!
  3. Looks and sounds good! What are the square patches in the back garden? Guessing the 103 year old didn't have two trampolines back there...
  4. Very true! I read it like Mike was just rolling it down the road checking something in preparation for an MOT, rather than on the way to the centre itself.
  5. So were you 'driving it' on a road without an MOT when he reversed into you? That could suck balls for you... Or was it still in MOT from last year?
  6. Another two gone today- Avro (who we moved from to PFP) and Green. The customer issue is only part of it- there must be hundreds (thousands?) of jobs that have simply ceased to exist overnight as these firms are falling over too.
  7. Watched 'Nobody' last night which was quite entertaining. It's obvious that it's done by the people who brought you John Wick and also quite 'Equalizer'y and a good watch but it's a little 'hollow'. No one kills his dog. No one steals his car. The main character just doesn't quite sit right with me. That's the writing though- Bob Odenkirk is great and it's still very watchable.
  8. Yeah my guess would be a nope too. Don't know for sure but gut feeling would be that the fork legs are welded to the steerer which is formed and milled or whatever above the crown race.
  9. That's an interesting point. As someone who completely distrusts LBS and would far rather do everything myself I really don't like the idea of being tied to getting stuff done in a shop and not being able to work on bits myself. Equally I've heard that there are plenty of people having issues with motors, batteries etc. which is also far from ideal and ties you into warranty repairs etc. which shouldn't be a regular thing ever in my view.
  10. Anyone else been messed up by the current domino effect of companies going out of business? We had just moved to PFP a couple of months ago (on a variable rate) but they've now gone bust and we've been automatically moved over to British Gas just as prices are sky rocketing and giving me not many options.
  11. My gut feeling (having not really ridden eitehr HT or FS ebikes) is that if you're going to be riding off road, with the extra weight of the bike a hardtail would struggle more and the extra compliance of a full sus will far more easily allow you to make full use of the drive and traction that the bike will provide.
  12. As an aside to my current thinking I know if I had the money I'd have one now and be perfectly happy but we should be finished paying off the mortgage in 2 years so spare cash for toys will suddenly be far more easy to come by! My plan is that when I'm struggling to keep up with the boys (Finn is 9, Ash is about to turn 7 so I've got a few years) that will be the turning point for sure!
  13. In the UK that's still not necessarily that helpful!!
  14. That's one of my concerns- we often go camping with bikes etc. and if I wipe out the battery on day one there's potentially no way to recharge it ready for the next day... Not ideal!
  15. To be honest with Brexit I'm surprised we're not converting to Knots and Slugs...
  16. I think that's probably down to being interviewed for a primarily foreign audience. You hear it quite a lot in motorsports too where and English racer is giving an interview in English to a foreign interviewer but is enunciating words weirdly and changing the order of the words to make it sound right for a French audience for an example. Cal Crutchlow was always a good one for that. They basically end up sounding like a foreign person speaking English...
  17. I'm not anti them and definitely will be getting one in the future and can see the attraction but I just don't feel that the technology is quite there yet. I spoke to Danny Mac the other week and he's ridden nothing but his E-Bike over the past year and is completely sold on it but then he got his for free! It's meant he can get places he'd just never bother with otherwise and turns every awkard climb into a fun technical trials section! I'm hoping to give it another 5 years or so before taking the plunge, hopefully by which time the industry will have sorted itself out as to what an E-Bike should be with battery and motor tech making them less lardy and more like a normal bike+.
  18. You'd think there'd be a word for that... asymptomatic
  19. Why the bike run bar spin thing? Really weird to include that...
  20. You can but as far as I'm aware they tend not to have a clutch mechanism so chain slap/retention is likely to be more of an issue.
  21. Finally confirmed for George. Going to be an interesting year for him (and Lewis!) next year
  22. After Bottas' little fastest lap shenanigans in the Dutch GP I'd love to see George transfer to Mercedes for the rest of the season but it'll never happen...
  23. Bottas moving to Alfa leaves the door open for George Russell... fingers crossed!
