  1. I get this ^ and the paralysis sometimes. As above, I feel really tiny in an enormous room of some sort, pressed into the corner, often like my vision is zooming into another corner. I had a paralysis the other day where I could see a spider on my bed sheets. It was big, but just sat there chillin', and I tried to move it away, but my arms and legs where completely locked into place. Whether or not the spider was there or not, I will never no. Pretty damn weird.
  2. Managed to pick up some sponsorship from Certini Bicycle co/Specialized over the off season. So this is what I'll be racing this year!
  3. Sorry chaps, been totally out of the loop for an age now. Would have popped down just for the pint if I had seen this!
  4. Got some insanely cheesy 90's trance that gives me an insane feeling I cant explain. Takes me back to where I lived in a certain house at a certain point in my life, every time. Other songs give me that "our song" moment, but they only get dug out occasionally!
  5. Looks good man. Few shots there of Barton Beach and Avon Tyrrel?
  6. Porous sidewalls are really common on all tyres. I buy Specalized tubeless ready and there a little porous. The micro fibres in Stans seals them well so if the OKO stuff is similar then it should be fine. Just leave the wheel flat on its side for a few hours, then swap sides.
  7. Specialized Ground Control on the front! Could go for one of Specialized's lighter XC tyres if you really wanted, they do a lighter S-works casing too.
  8. Global warming is 100% natural, and so is climate change to a degree. Its just the acceleration due to human activity that is the issue, so yeah... Its a morbid way of looking at it, but we are long long overdue for a planetary mass extinction. I've done a lot of research into this subject through my A-levels and my degree (Geology), and its something that truly fascinates me (Looking to go into Renewable Power Engineering one day). Everyone with the attitude of "It wont happen in my lifetime, so what does it matter?" is pretty ignorant to the subject and ultimately selfish. In reality? It wont happen on a time scale imaginable by most. 10,000 years is a lightning quick mass extinction, some last for millions. It could happen. It might not. Who knows? I presume you have watched The Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore Ben? Have you also seen a follow up documentary called the Great Global Warming Swindle? Pretty interesting follow up to it. Essentially it states that the media hype is cleverly constructed into gaining funding for climate research (and personally I believe that too). Which whilst sneaky, is also clever and necessary. One interesting point is geologically speaking (Off the top of my head), we are still in the transition period from an Ice Age into and interglacial. Which I guess is a pretty mad concept when people start talking about climate change. If temperatures did rocket to those predictions, life would still evolve to suit. Just not on a human timescale. Knowing how humans behave though, nothing will be done whilst fossil fuels are still relatively inexpensive, abundant and can be consumed in so many differing ways. There is an argument for industrialising countries such and China, India, and various African countries to use more sustainable means, but without the cheep renewable technology its not going to happen. How do you get funding for technology? Make a problem. So yeah, dont really know what I was getting at, but I believe that climate change is a huge problem. Yeah a load of those documentary's are full of political media hype. But ultimately we need it for the kick up the arse.
  9. Hi everyone, A good friend of mine (well known in the south west) Chris Jones has set up a charity for the designing and manufacturing of affordable adaptive mountain bikes for disabled people. Chris is a disabled soldier that has lost the majority of the use of his legs. Dispute this, he has been riding (and racing!) downhill and trail on a fully rigid adapted hand bike. His mission is to bring disabled mountain biking to the masses, by producing affordable, well designed bikes, up to the task. Please check out his Facebook page, for latest news, and fundraising information. Even if it is just a "like" it helps to spread the message. Thanks http://www.facebook.com/mericisports
  10. I've found most places to be roughly the same. Unfortunately your looking at about £30 per tyre, but these days for a decent tyre that's fairly cheap.. Evans cycles stock them, and are usually competitive!
  11. Plus an old 2.0 Ground Control makes one of the lightest and grippy stock front tyre choices around.
  12. Specialized or Bontrager tyres. Both are tubeless ready. Ive been running a Specialized The Captain rear and Ground Control front combo for a few seasons now, as an XC/trail tyre. Sweet at trail centres too. For more grip then swap the Ground Control to the rear, and strap a Specialized Purgatory to the front. Win!
  13. I felt like this with said ex in my previous post. Now I have done the whole poking around/ uni life thing, I personally dont think its all what its cracked up to be. You miss the security once its gone. All personal opinion though. Being single for a while has made me meet so many more new people its unreal.
  14. Would love to man, back up at home still until the weekend. After that it's game on!
  15. Luke when I'm out with you boys, I'm usually in a coma by 11pm. It's not pretty!! But yeah I know, the ball lies in my court really. Just need to get my act together!
  16. Makes perfect sense to me. And it's what I have done partly. I ride and race XC and road bikes, and really got into it last year due to this breakup. It's sadistic but with a fitness related sport I could really let my frustration out through it. It works to an extent. I do climb occasionally to in fact! Which I enjoy, but I can't afford to keep doing it too often. But that's irrelevant anyway.. I guess I just need to get out more, meet my friends and there friends and so in... Cheers chaps.
  17. Have to agree with you on that point muel. It's just not always easy to find that type of girl! Cheers for the advice too chaps. I woke up today feeling strangely happy compared to yesterday. Freaks me out a little though, it's almost a little bipolar.
  18. Age old predicament: How do you actually get over an ex? My girlfriend and I (of 3+ years) broke up last October (2011) and since we have both gone our separate ways. She was seeing some guy, and I had a few flings with various girls, but still never got over it. Before christmas I took a girl I met, out on a few dates. It was looking good and I felt really positive about moving forward with my life. Problem is now, that looks like that route has gone pretty cold, my ex is in a proper relationship with said guy, and I keep finding myself looking on her facebook just being all soppy really. On a selfish note it makes me sick to think about her and someone else still, and the pictures dont help. We're not actually friends on facebook any more, as I thought it would stop me thinking about her if I didnt keep seeing her pop up. Yet I still cant stop myself from looking, then just generally feeling shit after. At the end of the day, Im pleased that she is happy. Im just a cock and think about all this shit. Really just cant stop thinking about where we could have been now, or just missing her in general. Its getting a piss take well over a year after breaking up!
  19. 7.5wt oil is pretty easy to get hold of. Also ignore what I said. I clearly cant read and didn't see they where air forks!
  20. Sounds like it could be a broken preload dial. Basically a plastic spacer that keeps the spring under tension. Without it, the spring is able to move and will cause the fork to top out,
  21. My landlord is a tool and completely locked us out of out uni house over xmas. Which means I have no means of getting to my bike! Sorry guys!
  22. Do any of you kind local fellows have a short ickle stem one could borrow? Thinking of 80-90mm.......
  23. I eat healthily (Within reason) due to my XC and Road training. I always have a (whey) protein shake after an intensive road session, and sometimes one before bed after that session. I use it purely as a means of recovery. You can get dedicated recovery drinks that have a higher concentration of carbs, but that debate relies on what you what to achieve, and unless your training for long periods on a trials bike its probably not worth it. Just eat a balanced diet and your on the way. Fruit, Veg, lean meats, good fats ect. Its amazing the amount of people who go mental with protein, and have a shit immune system, because all they eat is protein and a few carbs. You need the minerals and vitamins to have a healthy body, and therefore perform at your best.
