  1. Looks like they have now announced it - Maybe that disti accidentaly sped up their schedule! https://www.aliasbike.co/
  2. I wouldn't mind helping if needed. I may not be a senior member in title but I have been on here since 2003! And I think at the tender age of 32 I can probably be sensible enough (definitely wouldn't have trusted me pre 30!)
  3. Nah - not alone. It is why I'll never be a road cyclists, straight orderly lines are boring, that and I will not wear Lycra!
  4. When I ran 24 the contis were the best tyre by far grip wise companies to maxxis and lends but I found it heavy on the front - a front specific lighter version would have been awesome!
  5. I would say someone did let the cat out the bag then!!
  6. Hey Anna&Ben - assume this is motorcycle related. Unfortunately this is a bicycle trials forum - you may get lucky but I think a motorcycle one would be better :-)
  7. Maybe some one has let the cat out the bag unless this is not related! https://4guimp.it/shop/bici/street-trial/inspired-alias-24-1-24/. I was hoping for nearly a big version of the 20.2 (currently got) and being fond of 24" back in the day was quite excited. Looks like a short front end, you can notice the jagwire on the cabling in the dark image and involves some v brake mounts which is cool?? Geometrie Interasse: 968mm Foderi: 364mm Altezza BB: +15mm Angolo sterzo: 74° Peso: 11,68 kg (compresi pedali) Vs Arcade: Geometry - Wheelbase: 992mm - Chainstay: 362mm - BB Rise: +25mm - Head Angle: 74.5˚
  8. This popped up on my social media, anyone got the inside scoop? I have a 20.2 at the moment but came from a 24" on to that and this seems very interesting to me if its a grown up version!!
  9. Yeah that’s what’s seeing me through this. We are doing the same buying something that sees us through the children phase. Nice area, good schools, and the house is a corner plot with spare space on the side so any future accidents can be catered for!! Just need to ride out the next week. Meant to be moving on the 18th but still waiting for both buyers and our seller to be ready so a little squeaky bum but sure it’ll come together.
  10. Nice - the experience so far has put me off doing it again thus far! This is the first time we have sold and bought in the same transaction where we were first time buyers last time. Our buyers changed the source of the deposit from the agreed offer which was them just selling a flat to remortgaging to a buy to let which has meant a simultaneous exchange and completion but managed to not tell the solicitor so a day before exchange it came to light! Not helped by the fact the house we were buying was probate and the son ha asked for 2 weeks between exchange and completion so are stuck in limbo at the mo with half the house in boxes waiting for the solicitors to sort it out. Fortunately I left a walk way through the summer house to get to my bike!! Best of luck with the move - jealous of the 24 hours! We had 30 viewings over 3 weeks on ours in the summer and because of working from home people were viewing everyday at random times unlike traditional weekends....
  11. Good luck - We are a few weeks away from completing a house move. We are moving from a 30s built semi detached 3 bed and were looking for a more modern 90's onwards just for ease of less work, electrics, heating etc (the previous occupiers of our current house had been here 40 odd years and everything needed doing!) However we ended up settling on a 60s built house - mainly for space... We found the equivalent newer built properties generally had a smaller master bedroom, garden and drive that we had got used to. We were also looking at detached on new builds so we wouldn't have to navigate the noise issue. Ironically the house we are buying has had people in it for 40 years and needs everything doing again! I am glad I can correct some of my previous mistakes this time!
  12. I have to say I lean towards Ali and Ben on this. When I was 14ish starting I was firstly about 5 foot 3 but also found it far easier to play about on 26” wheels especially natural - it was far easier to roll over things and the bike more stable. I switched between mods and stocks over the first few years and always found the stock easier to handle as it was less nervous. I think also the difference now a days is when people dive into trials on a trials bike they start out in really extreme geometry to what they are used to which if you are not used to is more of a hinderance than a help in my eyes. I actually think potentially starting with a non trials bike or older less extreme bike would be better for getting used to things - I certainly think my Planet X Jack flash turned trials rig helped me at the start than if I was jump into something with a high bb and stretched out position designed to be on the back wheel. At the beginning it’s easier to focus on the basics of riding on something you are a bit more comfortable with and once you have got some bits down move into something trialsy. That was really badly written and a bit of a ramble!!
  13. I am very jealous of that - looks awesome. Very similar to the Leeson (love a raw brazed steel frame) I abused for years prior to the Alias.
  14. This topic is riveting. Let me get myself a beer and some popcorn
  15. Maybe they thought you wanted it for the second lockdown !!
  16. Leon is 100% right. I have snapped 2 calipers . Both of which were due to using the standard shimano adapters. I changed to chunkier adapters and no issues with shimano calipers on deore or twin pot XTs. I found the twinpot shimano calipers with trial tech pads on a 160 rotor (I know people tend to run bigger but I just didn’t need anymore power and preferred a smaller disc as less likely to get knocked) is the most reliable brake I have owned.
  17. I was really tempted by this when I saw it for sale, never owned a Curtis and looked like a cool project. Geo looked pretty good to for some streety stuff. Good luck with it...

Don’t remember seeing that Ali C edit. Thanks for posting - enjoyed the tap to the angled top of the wall a lot! You should try and keep riding both!! But never give up on that alias!!
  19. Hey - Bent my shimano Standatd SLX disc in the rear the other day that came with my XT’s. I see jitsie do a disc for nearly 60 smackers. Anyone used or got an opinion on whether it is worth it or any compatibility issues with the shimano callipers width wise etc. Ta
  20. So why the cut out on the head tube! Scoured tinternet to see if I could see any with a head tube cut out..... Couldn't find any. Looks neat if it was home done..
  21. Hey, you can get some relatively slim Bmx railed option seats these days - something like this might work https://www.sourcebmx.com/collections/bmx-seats-1/products/relic-choice-slim-railed-seat?nosto_source=cmp&nosto=5f2266f260b2db48507175eb&loc=gb&lang=en&currency=gbp im not really clued up on what you can get mtb wise these days but the Bmx stuff is just relatively simple railed seats. Matt
  22. If you are willing to pedal about a bit there is tonnes. Head towards places like Paddington, Wandsworth. North west holds a good amount of spots also. Head for house if estates and you’ll typically find some decent riding. Matt
  23. Yes it took me a while to get used to it which you are acutely aware of after the messages about 6 months ago about whether to stick with it or go arcade but I am glad I stuck with it and it has paid off! I have to say being able to run a rear free hub rather than a front freewheel makes it feel so much better for faster rolling stuff. It’s only taken about 17 years to get to a point I really enjoy a seatless bike!!
  24. Nice little edit that, enjoyed Some of the gaps and the up to fronts in particular. That bail at the end did not look fun!
