And for comparison sake. Unlike you and Mark am vertically challenged at just under 5,6” and run a 150mm on the alias I sometimes mess about on!!

Hey. Reading the message you are looking along the right lines to help lengthen the reach to help feel a bit less cramped. Either a longer stem or high risers will help however I would maybe go for the riser bars first as you can play with the angle to give you more length or not. If you want a more upfront feel in the bars to help feel more neutral when on two wheels you can always lengthen the stem and roll the bars back for the desired effect. It is definitely cheaper to play with a set of high risers and a stem than trying new frames etc and it can make a vast difference to how it feels even with a few cm’s difference.

That was pretty fun to watch. This will definitely fill up my quarantine time and more to replicate all of them!!

Sounds like the guys above are and they are far more capable than I am!! However I have always covered both brakes and thought most people did but I could be wrong - that is an assumption I made 17 years ago when I first started riding... not sure what grips you are running but I always found using thinner grips gave me a bit more confidence. Not super thin but enough that you can feel your fingers nearly touching the palm as they come round. I guess like most things you’ll need to learn what’s comfortable and go with it. I don’t think there is a formula to one or the other being a huge difference to riding - if you like the style but want to cover the brake you’ll just have to stick with it until the confidence and strength in grip with 3 fingers returns..

I have been guilty of this in the past and still am sometimes. Do you think it’s to do with confidence of not gripping all fingers hard or physical that you aren’t able to grip as hard and throw the bike?

Also subscribed. You wouldn’t have a road trip Video that starts with Tim Stedman in a golf GtI with system of a down playing, loved that video. Also has the song du hast at one point by ramstien. Been looking for it for ages.....

Really nice to watch - seemed like the perfect amount of content rather than making it to long to keep it interesting.

He makes everything look so easy it nearly makes it hard to appreciate just how difficult and big everything is!

I am running Shimano xt 4 pot and have done since the summer and have been fit and forget. Really easy to bleed and shorten cables etc. On a 24” I am using 160 rear and 180 front and although I may when I need to replace the rear disc go to 180 it wouldn’t be from lack of power at 160. As above a lot of it is personal preference. I found that hopes felt to flexy at the lever and the Shimano felt really positive once pulled in and didn’t get that flex past bite point which I much prefer. Can’t say around Magura as haven’t used a set however can’t be bad as lots use...

Really nice edit. Makes me want to build up a do it all bike!! Looks super fun - not that I’d be able to ride it anywhere near that well!!

Fun to watch and well filmed. Enjoyed the music - reminded me of a bone death edit with the way it was filmed and the general style just with less weirdness and slams!!

Always really enjoy watching your videos, was definitely ahead of the curve on the Bmx influence, and you execute with a really nice style. The bit I enjoy most is that a majority of your Bmx based stuff compliments the trials rather than replaces it which having started off in trials and dabbled in Bmx I enjoy watching. Keep it up!

Nowt wrong with those riding abilities!! Looked really controlled and smooth and techy.. great to watch as always. What tyres are you running these days... I am finding the Rubens are not easy to get hold of, was looking at either aitkens 2.45 or the eclat morrow tyre.. tried either or got a different suggestion?

I recognise that frame ;-). When I rode it the few times, I started at full height eventually found with clean risers that for me on 90 x 35 I was only using a single 5mm spacer and that was perfect. I’m 5 6” - I know the guy before me ran it full height like you have but was 6 foot. Keep dropping them until it doesn’t feel like a chopper!!! I would have eventually had to accepted that I would lose the steerer thread and run a gusset kit or headlock if you wanted to route as I think cutting it as far as I would have needed I wouldn't have had enough thread left. Only other option is a short low rise stem but I think that looks odd!!

I work in London for large international corporate so feels like I have been in it for 2 weeks already. Been working from home for 2 weeks with a fair few colleagues having likely got it and with some that now have family very ill in Italy and Spain, I think like most I am more worried about people I know are vulnerable rather than myself. My brother has got it at the moment and was feeling pretty rough for about 3 days but coming out of the other side now (caught it on a stag doe in Spain at the weekend, so his own fault!). My wife is a teacher and has had 2 incidences at school yesterday of kids showing symptoms but parents still sending them in. Both my parents sit in the high risk category so we are having no contact with them whilst Annabel is still teaching. I got a bit caught up in it more than I should with my 1 year old son starting to show symptoms which you would associate however after a triage with a GP this morning over the phone they have reassured me it is likely just a cold. As a relatively new parent I am finding my anxious side going into over drive even reading all the evidence which makes it clear that younguns are at far less risk than anyone else. My wife is quite surprised as normally she is the nervous one and she has been completely calm about it all!!

The 3 blokes in a white van where very articulate and polite when I slid off a gap the other day whilst they waited at a set of lights and proceeded to scream “you f***ing tw*t” repeatedly for the next 2 minutes until the lights changed. This is not what I care about and I think sometimes the point is being missed above. I don’t enjoy an audience whether I’m very skilled at something or completely unskilled. I’d just rather be on my own doing it Or with friends than with spectators. I’ve been doing it long enough not to let it stop me or care but doesn’t mean I can’t prefer to do it in a quiet place.. :-)

Looks awesome, forgot about those carbon boosters completely!! Always wanted one but managed to end up going the steel route with pashleys and revells instead of the aluminium route. -
Looks great - bar the HA being a little slack for today’s flavour it could be in a catalogue as a current 26” street alternative to a hex!
-
Looks pretty cool! I’d be hella scared to scratch And ruin it after dropping £300 on it!
-
You are doing an epic job of putting this together. Love the attention to sticking with some period stuff. My first what I consider proper trials bike was a blue pashley. I have a black frame hung in the office but can’t bring myself to build and damage it!!

Might depend what temperature they have been exposed too. I’ve had pads last years. But if they are outside somewhere they’ll get down to freezing might cause them to degrade quicker. Matt
