Muc of disc brake cleaner melted the paint on my immaculate '04 brake, used it to clean the pistons before a relube
Not sure it'd even touch a frame though
From the point of a consumer would you say the echo pistons are actually any good? Both my TR levers leaked from the piston (despite the lipseal being set correctly)
If you have dedicated v brake mounts I wouldn't even bother with evo2 adapters. The main reason people used the evo2 adapters was because the hs33 had more pad choice at the time
Also provide a better seal but add more friction.
Although friction isn't an issue for me, I use a metric f**ktonne of Vaseline on my lever piston. (all I had at the time except some 20year old lithium grease which is full of lumps and other shit)
Breaking the taboo by typing after the quote I've had one for well over a year and it's only snapped once, replaced it with a spare link and it's still going strong about a month later
Asked to swap for my 24 great ride once i'd learnt how to ride in the wet, was aching from yesterday so didn't ride brilliantly. Was nice to meet some new people too
Learnt the hard way that fat Alberts are shit in the wet
Rode Williams' bike today in Portsmouth and I can tell you saints live up to their rep. I thought my hope was powerful but it's like riding into a brick wall. I'd say it's better than a 183 bb7 on the front of a mod
Cut the head off a steel crank bolt, cut a slot in the cut end and (if you crank is hollow) thread it in the good side using the screwdriver, and out the other end as a make do tap.
Not sure if this actually works, just a thought I had
So it's between the v!z or Bonz at the moment.
Skunky, are you going to the portsmouth ride on Saturday? I take it you arent using my hopes anymore then?
Theres a large group of us around, normally riding indoor, reading, wokingham, basingstoke etc. Pm me your facebook and I'll see if I can get you added to the local group
Heya guys, been wanting to shed some weight for a while now and I've decided on new rims, front wheel I'll probably just match the rear. Rear will be running a grind and need some input on which rims grind the best.
Neon 538g Bonz 527g V!Z 550g
Out of these I assume the Bonz would hold a grind better? I've seen a few people using thje V!Z rim but I haven't seen the Neon in use yet. Anyone have an opinion on them?
Well it's secondhand but if it comes to Stoozie is only a phone call away so he should be able to help me out Going to be nice having a non-sticky piston, slightly leaky and cracked brake Lever blade is a little bent too, going to assume no warrantee because that's obviously my fault? Sorry for hijacking the thread.
You probably wouldn't notice any difference in power with 160's, the 180's will be easier to hit, add weight and have more leverage to snap the disc mounts
So hope will replace my cracked hope clamp for free? need to sent it for a service anyway as after the cost of parts the service isn't much more and it's effort to do it myself
