  1. Cheers Ross you're probably right about the ratio, it had a 15t on before so this is at least an improvement! Also the chain wrap, I hate it but I don't know if I can spare to take a link out? edit: there's very little street riding here. Leon, I did get them off eBay but only a few days ago!
  2. I have it on a stand at the end of my bed, so I can dream about riding it someday!
  3. Spec: Frame: Ashton Ed Tongue Fork: Ashton Justice Front wheel: Dee Vee rim on American Classic Rear wheel: Dee Vee rim on Chris King Singlespeed (running 18:14) Tyres: Tioga comp x Cranks/BB: Middleburn with bash on Shimano UN55 BB Chain/Tensioner: KMC Z610 and Superstar tensioner Pedals: Onza Hognesium Front Brake: Bb7 with SD7 lever Rear Brake: Deore with Inspired slim pads, SD7 lever, Blank linear cable Grips: Odi X trainer Bars: Trialtech High risers Stem: System X (90*35) Headset: FSA Orbit + Hope spacers Saddle/Post: Gusset Might get a downtube protector, I think I'd cry if I bashed this frame! I've barely had a chance to ride it, partly because rain + smooth rim is scary, but it feels awesome so far.
  4. I quite like wearing totally impractical clothes. Baggy all the way.
  5. I think the chain line will be ok with a 122.5 axle so I'm tempted to give it a shot. Cheers.
  6. cheers, shame it only has 122.5 mm axle, I think I could do with a tad more length but its probably not that important....
  7. I've read that a 68 mm BB can fit a frame with a 73mm width, but is it only certain types that are capable of that, like external ones? Would an internal one continue screwing in until it reaches it's 68mm width? What potential issues would there be? BB's are one of the few things I haven't ever taken apart. I'm needing a square taper 73mm BB, but tarty only seem to have 68mm square taper BB's, hence the questions. Obviously I'm aware that other online bike part shops are available
  8. Similar to my worst moment. Rolling down a hill in busy Glasgow on the way to a ride, lift the front wheel onto a pavement and manage to lock the front brake on landing (still no idea how), went flying over the bars and landed in a 'push up' position, then the bike landed on me. Felt like such a tool. BB7's are awesomely dangerous!
  9. Haha, that's the plan then. Hopefully I actually have another sprocket lying around....
  10. I'd be worried that clamping the freehub would damage it, but it might be an option.
  11. That could be a difficult job for me to do. It's not dug in that far by the looks of things. Seems weird that a CK sprocket with a wide base can get stuck on a CK hub...
  12. The sprocket on my CK hub appears to have dug into the freehub body and is totally stuck on. I've tried prising it and gentle knocking, but I can't knock it hard because I've no way of keeping the freehub locked in place! There's obviously not much space to get behind it, so can't hammer it from there either. Is my only option to get a 'gear puller'? Cheers.
  13. Takes a bit of time to get that balance! Luke's description was awesome, it really helps when you try to pop up onto the rear wheel without moving forwards too much. If you haven't already tried it, I'd say it's best to use the endo/rocking method to begin your rear wheel balance practice, then move onto the pedal-up.
  14. Do your pads fill the space between the 'prongs' on the slave? (Is there a technical name for those things?) On my old bike the zoo pads didn't really fill the space so they used to wobble around a bit, but not enough to take them totally out of alignment.

    Cad Thread

Nice, hope you earn some money off them. To attach a picture you have to click "More Reply Options" below, then look below the text box and there's a thing there to upload attachments. I haven't made any progress on my streety bike, I don't really have the time now that uni has started again.
  16. Dan, I've been meaning to try that for months now!
  17. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Tioga comp-x tyre, its pretty small so its only good on the front but it seems to grip fairly well in the wet.
  18. Waiting for the postman; that's my plan for tomorrow.
  19. It may be true that the pro ones are best, but it really depends how good an editor you are. I figured out how to do 'overlays' (or whatever they're called) on VideoPad the other day, infact I'm gonna go play with that feature right now.
  20. Brakeless Ashton video next?
  21. +1 for keeping Scirocco, if you can deal with reduced practicality.
  22. Was there an informative thread regarding v-brakes? I can't find it.

No worries, I found this one:

  23. Its like Christmas has arrived with all these new trials videos! Time to buy a 24...

  25. Overall, pretty happy. I just need more confidence/less inhibitions in order to improve my social life. I often think I could fit so much more into the space of a day, but annoyingly I'm quite content with just sort of 'getting by'. I've lived with pretty lazy people for the past few years which really doesn't help! Now that uni has started again I should find it easier to keep up a fulfilling day-to-day routine.
