  1. Fair enough, sounds like a good plan. If I come across some moneys in the next few years then fingers crossed I'll be looking for some sort of custom exhaust.
  2. Nice. Are custom exhausts one of the things you'll be offering to customers?
  3. I hope Duncan hasn't given up on the idea of a Glasgow edit.
  4. Bold choice. Can't say it's my cup of tea, but it still looks lovely.

    Films!?

I enjoyed Skyfall, but there was definitely something odd about it. It sort of felt a little unnatural, and perhaps had too much suspension of disbelief. I can't describe it.
  6. My plan exactly! So much musical nostalgia from watching those old school videos. It was cool to see some nods to the old school in some of the GETcreative entries.
  7. As above, It's difficult to understand the reasoning or accuracy of such an analysis. At that speed I think it would take 0.0447s to travel a metre? (don't trust me, I cannot math) Not considering any slowing down of the vehicle during crashing. Not sure if that helps at all.
  8. Mine again. My camera isn't doing too well. And here's another one I found on this forum. It looks strangely like a zoot to me.
  9. Oh. I sold an xtr lever to buy an SD7. Now I feel silly.
  10. 30 seems a bit high for a low bb stock? I'd suggest 115 x 20 ish...
  11. Glad you got some photos, looks like I missed out on some great fun!

    Cad Thread

Super delayed update. Added pretty basic rims, tyres, and hubs to the CAD 24". Kinda hard to distinguish between the rims and the tyres. That's as far as I wanted to take it, so I think that'll be the end of this little project. Building a semi accurate frame has taught me a lot about both CAD and bicycle geometry.
  13. The reason I didn't recommend another tyre is because, in truth, I haven't tried that many. I've never tried any of the ones you listed there! Continental X-King is pretty good on the front, and only 680 grams. (I think)
  14. The tread is obviously fairly small in depth, but not stupidly small. I've had some on a jump bike for quite a while and they've not worn that much. I'd imagine a trials bike is harsher on tyres though. I'd suggest that you get something else, I wouldn't use them for trials. As probably said already, they are terrifying in the wet, and get punctures too easily.
  15. I liked those threads, but I don't like the fact that I liked them. Why do I want to read about what makes others happy or angry? It seems a silly thing to be interested in, but I was. Good point Luke...
  16. Ha yeah I did try that. I think Chris King only make certain hubs with that non-uniform shimano pattern. Can anyone confirm this? Edit: My hub has a totally uniform pattern, but the Gusset double six I got from crc didn't.
  17. Strange! There must be some variance with one of the components....
  18. The sprockets can get a bit stuck on, partly due to them digging in and partly due to the taper of the driveshell, but I'm guessing you don't have a sprocket on it already? I'm not totally sure about the taper of the driveshell, but it definitely felt like mine had a taper.
  19. It's just that the driveshells seem a bit soft, but you can't do much better than 6mm wide so I'm hoping for the best.
  20. Yep! It's in amazingly good nick, thanks for that! Also have to thank ben for putting some great parts on it.
  21. Gusset Double Six's don't fit on Chris King hubs, as I found out to my disappointment a few days ago! They have that special shimano-only pattern with the non-uniform splines. Luckily the trialtechs do fit, I went for the wider Lite over the Sport. Wouldn't surprised if it still dug into the driveshell though!
  22. I might have to get back to you on that one, I've barely had a chance to ride it, so it's hard to say how it feels. I also can't really make a comparison between this and newer 24s, because I've genuinely never ridden a 24 before, which will probably make people rage! ha. From initial impressions, it feels surprisingly modern. The longer chainstays are probably the most old-school feature. I had a much lower and even shorter front end set-up on it a few weeks ago, it felt ok for most things but not bunnyhops, which is exactly what I wanted to be doing! Maybe you're right about short high stems not really existing at that time, or maybe they had silly long forks back then, I dunno. Some rough 'tape measure' geo: 1035, +30, 385 That's with the justice forks.
  23. nice one, they are perfect forks for this bike. I'm surprised you sold them!
