  1. I don't think that there's much need of the icetechs in trials. Just get some RT66 and you're fine. I think it's more the pads you should think about. The sintered aren't good for trials and the resins are shite.
  2. Thanks. This should be possible. So I just set the spoke into the new hole, wrap it around the axle a couple of times and put it onto the chain from above?
  3. Mega bump. I would like to still use my snailcams. Is there any way to make a spoke tensioner w/o using the snail cam screw hole? The reason is that the stupid Because frame isn't long or short enough to run a 18/14 w/o using a half link. This snapped on my yesterday so I'd rather use a longer chain w/ a spoke tensioner until I get the 74 kings.
  4. How would that work? I don't really get what you're saying. For the steerer to sit flush with the top of the stem, it will have to be cut in an angle.
  5. Lol! I got it to work w/o filing any spacer. I just put an old top cap in there and two spacers under it where there's more space between the top of the stem and the top of the steerer. Meaning that a normal top cap was pushing down on the stem on 12 o'clock and two spacers which in turn pushed down on the stem on 6 o'clock. I tightened the stem bolts and took off the top cap, as this doesn't do anything once the stem bolts are tightened. Haven't had a chance to ride it though.
  6. Thanks. I was actually thinking of filing down a carbon spacer.
  7. I can't see any picture in the first post.
  8. So I've bought a Trialtech Sport Lite fork a while ago and am running a 150x35° stem with it. Now I want to try my 150x30° stem again (have used it with the old forks) but am a bit hesitant to cut the steerer in that angle. As my current stem is 50mm high and just ends with the top of the steerer (5mm stacker under it) cutting the steerer for the other stem would mean that I couldn't go back even if I wanted to. Now I was thinking of a sloping top spacer to just give 150x30° a go and if I don't feel comfortable with it, go back to the old one. Is there such a thing as a sloping to spacer or are there any suggestions as to make one? Thanks.
  9. Some Titanium screws for the stem, Trichstuff disc* and Fat Albert rear. 9.2kg. Because Simple Trial 24'' von niconj auf Flickr Because Simple Trial 24'' von niconj auf Flickr *Performs better than the RT66 disc even before having bedded it in properly. I couldn't imagine a Trialzone to have more power.
  10. I would have even liked it more if he did only pass by for a millisecond w/o doing anything. Sort of the predator awaiting it's prey. I think there was a scene like this in Jurassic Park.
  11. The just get an Avid BB7 with their organic pads and Jagwire Ripcord cables.
  12. To be honest, if you compare, ceteris paribus, a BR-M785 (which has the same stoping power as the BR-M675) with a BR-M640, the difference is only 8.2% in favor of the Zee. In comparison, the difference between a 160 and a 180 rotor, using a BR-M785 is 13%.
  13. Had the same issue with a Rubber Queen on a SunSingle Track as well as with a Rocket Ron on a Trialtech rim . What rims are you running. I resolved the issue on both wheels cutting down the rim tape. On both rims it was interfering with the tyre bed. Didn't happen with other tires and the same combination though. edit: Have you put them on a scale? Would be interesting to know the real weight of those tires.
  14. Are you serious? Last time I shipped a frameset to the UK I paid 10GPB and it took 2 days to arrive (DHL).
  15. Dibs on the frame and cranks then...
  16. Well, only after a couple of rides I could screw in the TPA all the way and still would be able to pull the lever almost to the bars. I'm not the only one with this problem either. Ergonomics is alright and the feel/power of the brake too but it didn't work for a very long time.
  17. Especially NOT for the HS33R!
  18. And need a half link to run 18/14 (at least the latest model I'm running) which kinda sucks. What do you think of the Trialtech Rim on the rear? I got one on the front and no complaints so far. Currently running the Echo TR on the rear and was thinking about going single wall there as well.
  19. It's alright. I'm not too experienced in Trials though so I might not be the one you should ask. I read that it sucks in wet conditions.
  20. That's a surprise as metallic pads aren't normally useful for trials, even though Ali tends to disagree.
  21. Very soft organic pads I suppose.
