Hello,
so I've got a new Because Simple Trials frame and with it a new KMC Z610HX chain, which, so I've read, is a very good chain for trials.
I run a Trialtech 18T sprocket on the front and a Hope Pro II Evo Trials (the one with the strong bolts) on the back and have two Shimano DX sprockets; 14T and 15T.
Now I tried fitting the 14T first but the chain is either too short or way too long (the end caps of my Hope stand over the frame half their diameter). It gets better with the 15T but again, it's either too short or the end caps are just standing over the dropouts, maybe 2mm.
So I went on the Because website (which is crap btw) and couldn't find any information for which gear ratio the frame was designed. It couldn't possibly be 18/16 now could it?
The problem I have is that I can ride 18/15 w/o any problems but as soon as the KMC chain lengthens*, the end caps will stand over more. Could this be a problem? I also have notched snail cams that are mounted on the outside.
Thanks,
Nico.
*How much does it lengthen on the initial rides?
