That'll make shite loads though. I usually use 1 egg, and maybe 3 table spoons of flour. Beat the egg and pour it into the flour. Mix it up and then add milk slowly, stirring all the time, until it's thick enough. And then just fry it. Make sure the pan is hot and try to make the batter as thin (in the pan) as possible. But obviously I'm sure someone else will have a more precise method. Goooogle. I need to go and buy some eggs. I hope they're not all out of stock

I like it I probably wouldn't have it myself, but there's a lot of nice ideas there. Like horizontal drops on a stock(ish) frame, fairly long at 1060, BMX spacing etc. The dropout thing isn't going to be THAT much of an issue for many people - anyone switching from 26" will need new wheels anyway, and anyone buying the complete bike will get the right hub anyway. Aside from the fact that it looks like a pitbull (etc), there's a lot of originality in there. But does this mean that Holroyd is gonna get back into riding proper trials, now he's got a longer bike?

Everybody saying Viz parts were ace, then finding out just about everybody was "sponsored" by Viz Wow, I must be cool or something. Surely, finally?

I reckon the Tioga Blue Dragons might be worth a look for a rear tyre on street only. I'm running one on the front at the moment and it seems nice enough. Grip is OK and they're fairly light I think (I couldn't find a weight), although I am not convinced they would take too much abuse unless you're running high pressures. I like my Maxxis (Swampthing) for the rear Brake-wise I'd keep the BB7. My Juicy 7 is no more powerful than a BB7 and I imagine the Juicy 5 is less powerful than that. Although I've never used one.

Apparently Asus make/made the Powerbooks for Apple. They're awesome quality, so maybe Asus are worth looking at. But everyone in the know seems to spunk over IBM thinkpads as good quality laptops. I'd say it's worth sacrificing speed and overall spec for decent build quality

Perhaps. But they looked like they were having fun, and being a dancer in a small touring troupe can hardly be that stressful.
-
That's gotta be the wrong way around. The other night I went to the theatre (how very posh of me ) and I was watching some crazy-ass break-dancing play thing. It was quite weird and cool, but that's not important. It struck me just how all the people in it were doing what they love (i.e. dancing) for a living. Which is pretty f**king cool in my book. I guess there's a lot of truth in "Do a job you love and you'll never do a day's work"

Hmmm, I'd be 31 by then. Job-wise, SpR Cardiology would be pretty f**king cool, although that ambition changes week by week. Apart from that I guess I'd like a nice house and maybe be married. I guess maybe there would be some baby Tomms bumbling around, which would be pretty damn cool, but equally scary. Although it's a long way off

There was some rumour that the ISOs had stiffer springs and were therefore better for trials, but I don't think that's particularly important/true. But yeah, they're all the same inside. As for your hub, you can get a toothbrush and clean off all the helical splines on the axle bit and inside, that ought to help. Then use a thin lightweight lube on them. And as other people have said, just blast the insides with WD40/GT85.

I got up at 6:30 which is a total killer . I've done that every weekday for the last month and I'm knackered. I don't have to do that any more though Went to uni for 8, kinda finished by 9, so went and had another coffee and sat about for a bit in a bit of a comatosed state. Then went camera shopping with the missus. She didn't buy a camera, and it slowly turned into a shoe-shopping trip somehow Mancunians are mostly dickheads At 3 pm I was back in uni for an hour or so, so did that and then came home. Mooched about for a bit, went to sleep for a couple of hours , woke up and watched most of Twins (Danny DeVito and Arnie are twins - it's shit) but decided it was crap and now I'm going to bed, after i finish spicing up this post with too many emoticons

My mum annoys me because she's pretty computer illiterate, yet she uses a computer all the time for work. You would have thought she would learn, but she's always asking me stupid questions. But that's just me being a bit of a geek child of the computer generation, I don't really understand how anyone can find the concept of windows (as in folders and files etc) so confusing. But the single most annoying thing is double-clicking on web links...

Yeah, that's right Or I guess you could say that it's a 2 in 5 chance, because two sides face up. It's just one of those things that goes against your instinct - which is to say 1 in 5
-
Well even if it was capable of laying an egg, if the barn is facing east-west, it'll have a north-facing bit of roof and a south-facing bit of roof. So the answer is obvious anyway I have another one: You have a 5-sided pencil with a logo on one side. You throw it up and see where it lands. What is the chance that the logo faces up?

Yeah, the question is written wrong. If the ground simply moves in reverse relative to the plane, it's a no-brainer. The plane goes forwards at 200mph, the treadmill spinning backwards at 200mph, the wheels are spinning at 400mph. No probs, there's not even anything to think about. But a much better question (which is actually a theoretical conundrum which imo doesn't really have an answer) is the same thing, but the speed of the conveyor belt matches the wheels. But there's too much crap in this thread to start that discussion now.

I was quoted £100 by Jessops, but I don't know if they take a bit of a cut. I guess I'll phone around and get some quotes.
-
It's a trick question, it's a Harrier jump jet so it doens't have to move In the original problem that Tipsy Jock posted, the conveyor belt is going at the same speed as the plane. Ie plane is moving forward at 10mph, and the conveyor belt rolling backwards at 10 is of little consequence. However, a better conundrum is if you match the speed of the conveyor belt to the speed of the wheels of the plane. Which is basically what so of you are arguing. And in that situation, it would stay still. And wouldn't take off. (Unless you believe what Leedstrials said in the first page. If the plane's engines kept roaring and it didn't take off, I guess the thrust would get bigger and bigger and tend to infinity. And then I guess that could distort some wind over the wings and it would take off. Once in the air it'd be fine.

I don't think it is, because you don't get sweet piss every time you eat sugar. Plus I doubt there's significantly more sugar in sugar puffs than in frosties for example, and you don't get a different smell with frosties. It'll be some other chemical that's in sugar puffs. But I don't know what

Sounds good to me. Now I just need to get off my arse and go ride.

My 300D *should* have P mode which allows you to change WB, ISO and other things. I.e. It's not quite full-auto. But like I said, I can't use it. I need to get it fixed but it'll cost me about £100 apparently. Unless anyone knows anywhere in the UK that will do Canon repairs cheaper? F-Stop, I'm looking in your direction...
-
I have it on manual all the time, because the dial on my camera is broken and it's stuck there I really should get that fixed. I would love a Tv mode or even just full auto for taking random snaps where I don't want to think about what I'm doing.

Well it'll depend on what your settings are... Outgoing mail will be smtp.ntlworld.com (I think) Incoming mail will be POP3. *something* And then obviously you'll need to put your password in somewhere. As long as those two are in the right way around, and the password is right, you can't go too wrong?
-
I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think 2 weeks is long enough. I'm sure last time we had at least a month.
-
For checking mail or for sending? Have you definitely put in the correct smtp/pop3 addresses in the right place?
