  1. I'm biting my nails here too. Although I very much doubt that's he's got the wrong bike - You just know your bike. Even when I had my Koxx and every f**ker had the same frame, I still knew that it was my bike without a doubt - No-one will have the same combination of parts as Dan6061. C'mon c'mon c'mon!
  2. I'm pretty sure Edd Potts (Dave85) made a new TPA for his '05 Mag. Looked real nice

    Pc And Mac?

Whoa easy Tiger (Pun intended ). Nah I was just joking, you are right, those are old and probably not worth bothering with In fact I would say anything older than Panther (or maybe Jaguar) probably isn't worth bothering with unless you really love old macs. I know 10.1 had a few compatibility problems, whereas Panther is a sweet OS.

    Pc And Mac?

Nick has probably told you that it'll be faster than a Dual-Core Athlon 4800+ though. I wouldn't bother, think of a 233MHz PC, they are OLD.
  5. I don't think people realise that that is probably a realistic auction... I really hope someone has to pay a grand for manure.
  6. That's where I got mine from, although it does say "Rock Shox/Avid/SRAM offers close on 5th Jan!!!", so I dunno if they'll still give you one at that price. Worth a phone call though I guess. And I don't care what everyone says about the BB7, the Juicy is better
  7. Agreed, but it ain't an excuse

    Pc Or Mac?

iTunes on the Mac is loads nicer though - I quite like it. But there are much better alternatives on the PC, shame you can't use any of them if you have an iPod
  9. Sensible option: BB7 They are amazing brakes, and I've seen them for as little as £40. That is an absolutely awesome deal, and if you have a decent front brake lever lying about, that makes them about a third of the price of a Juicy . You really can't go wrong at that price. They are just stupidly powerful and a doddle to set up. Downsides: Easy to break the caliper arm and lose the red bits if you hit it on a rock. I think they are pretty heavy, too. Money no object: Juicy 7 I just bought one and it's basically a hydro BB7 (in case you hadn't guessed). The power is there but you also get modulation too and all the feel of a hydro brake. And the lever is really nice too. Downsides: A lot more difficult to set up than the BB7 as you don't have any pad adjustment at the caliper. Also the hose enters the caliper on the side so it could potentially get hit by a rock. But these are just small, irrelevant, things when you realise just how awesome the brake is. I'm very happy with mine Take your pick really, both are really good deals, you can't go wrong. The BB7 is the second best brake available for trials (that I have tried, anyway) and it's dirt cheap. The Juicy is even better, but you have to pay for it (although it's not really any more expensive than any other hydro disc).
  10. You don't have to do that for extra ram, it's just if you change CPU/Motherboard I think. So I don't know how you've managed to do that. Maybe you knocked something else when you were installing the ram?
  11. Full days as in 9am-3pm though?
  12. Trials-Forum is the third entry though

    Pc Or Mac?

I thought that was awesome when I first got my Mac, until I discovered that you can do exactly the same thing with Windows XP. Although that might be whatever Theme I am running. It has all the colours - Gray, Yellow, Green, Read (sic).
  14. Haha Seriously, the mods put up with a lot of shit from everyone. Just cut them some slack

You can connect to an IP address, but it's much easier to just search for games in Steam. You'll figure it out, it's dead easy

    Pc Or Mac?

I don't use virtual PC, I don't need it. By the same logic, why did anyone invent PearPC?
  17. Training = bad. No training this time and you'll be fine

    Pc Or Mac?

I hate to break it to you, but neither is better. If one platform was massively better, don't you think there would be no other? They are good for different things/different people. I have a Mac laptop and a PC desktop. I use the laptop 99% of the time, I just prefer it. For what I use computers for (basically just internet and a bit of pictures) the mac rules. It's just really nice to use. However I totally understand that some people will prefer PCs if they're into games etc. But (apart from Prawn ) most people won't have used a Mac, ever. So it's a stupid topic, but no doubt people will cite it as "proof" that PCs are better. Why do I prefer the mac? Dunno, I find it really hard to explain. It is slower than my PC for a lot of things (E.g. Photoshop, encoding etc), but it's not slow enough to be frustrating, and there are just loads of things to like about it. Keyboard shortcuts for everything - I find that really useful, and I think that's why the mouse only has one button - You don't need any more really. With a Mac you use the keyboard a lot more. Also it just looks 10 times nicer than Windows (although I suppose that is subjective). Call me shallow, but I love the Exposé and the dashboard zooming in and out. And it's rock-solid. It never crashes totally, and program crashes are very rare, but they never cause the system to crash, which can happen in Windows. Even when a program decides it's not working, a simple cmd-alt-esc (equivalent of Ctrl-Alt-Del) will fix it, whereas Ctrl-Alt-Delete often doesn't respond if the system is going really slowly. Oh and I didn't really get round to the fact that there's no spyware (except ITMS ), adware, viruses around.
  19. Well forks don't have to be different. 24" forks are the same geometry as 26" forks, the only difference is the placement of the brake mounts. So, you can use a disc and not have to worry about forks. That's what I'm doing. The other options are Leeson forks (Which I think are just Pashley forks with moved brake bosses), Ashton forks (they have both 24" and 26" brake bosses AND a disc mount), Onza Smart guy forks (although I'm not sure if they are sold separately to the Onza Zoot frame at the moment). But my recommendation would be to just use some normal 26" forks and get a front disc. Spokes have to be different for 24" though Just because a bike is 24" doesn't mean it as to be heavy - my bike is lighter than most people's 26" easily. But having a Leeson/Curtis 6lbs frame probably doesn't get you off to a very good start. As for frame choice, I would go Leeson for sure. The Ashton is a very nice frame and super-light, but they all seem to break (probably something to do with being 3.2lbs ). Curtis are an extra £100 ish on top of a Leeson and I don't really see the point in spending the extra. I'm sure you know that with Leeson you can order any geometry you want (within reason obviously), so they just seem like a great deal. I miss my Leeson (It was stolen) I pretty much agree with Davetrials' spec apart from the forks (There's nothing wrong with Leeson forks, but there's no need for 24" specific forks if you're running a disc). If you speak to Clive Leeson he will be very happy to spec a full bike for you and get it built. He's also very reasonable in terms of price so that might be the way forward, unless you particularly want to build it yourself. As for tyres - it's gotta be Maxxis. They do a few in 24", the swampthing is nice for a rear tyre. Avoid Tioga factory DHs like the plague, but the newer ones (Blue Dragon, White Tiger etc) are OK. I had a Blue Dragon on the front, it was good I don't think you can get Hot S's in 24", but count that as a blessing as they are pretty awful. Tioga rims are good (grind the sidewall to use with a rim brake even though they say disc-only), as are Rhyno Lite XLs. It's probably not a crucial decision really, any 24" rim will do OK.

It was £17.99 on Play.com, but there aren't any in stock

    Boom!

Worked fine for me I guess it's still a good video though.
  22. Not on the Mac it doesn't. AAC pisses me off as well, all these proprietary formats are annoying. MP3 is cross-platform, it's good. I don't really see why people have to bother with anything else.

    Boom!

Oh for f**k's sake, don't bump a video that is over a year old. I just watched it and I've seen it all before. I was waiting for the new stuff
  24. Aside from the fact that this new MacBook Pro has an awesome spec that makes it more powerful than most other laptops, I only ever really use my PC for the odd job that needs a PC. For example Elastomania and that Bridge-building game, pretty much the only thing I use my PC for, but I still need it really. If I could run Windows on my Powerbook, even if it was only very slowly, I wouldn't really have any need for my PC. I still appreciate some people will want PCs for games and CAD etc, but for everyone else, Mac ***
