  1. Yeah. And the surgery on my shoulder
  2. You will almost certainly need the lockring tool, but you can get away without the chainwhip. I've never used it. Either clamp the cassette in a vice, or take the wheel out and wrap your chain around the cassette and front sprocket. Then use the lockring tool and a big spanner and hold the pedals. It's a bit tricky, but it works
  3. DMR do one, but it's £30 and you only get a DX cog, not a King Kog. HERE. I got a set from Forge for £17, but I don't think they're in the business any more unfortunately Basically, you ain't gonna get them much cheaper than £20 I don't think, and they are CK which has gotta be worth some Kudos! Either that or use dirty grey cassette spacers EDIT: 24Seven do one too, and it's only £17 inc sprocket. Looks nice too. It's on HERE.
  4. It's some connective tissue problem that means that all her ligaments in her spine etc are way slacker than they should be. I have the same thing with my shoulders
  5. It would be like nailing a fish
  6. That's nice. But I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Joker
  7. The way I see it, you have a choice of Hope Trial, Juicy 7 or BB7. Take your pick depending on how much you want to pay. I don't really see the need to even consider anything else for trials (although I'm sure someone will disagree ). For power, there's not really anything to choose between any of them. The Hope and the Juicy will have better modulation and a nicer feel to them too. I've got a Juicy and it's lovely. If the Hope is much more expensive, you'd be a fool to go for that IMO, but if they are about the same price you'll just have to flip a coin. They feel very similar in use (although I've only used the Trial for a few mins). I don't think the Hope has lever position adjustment (the Avid does), so if that's important, get the Avid
  8. Joker, shut up until you've ridden a bike with an Avid BB7
  9. Even though the people that said burns obviously haven't read the thread, I'm gonna agree anyway. All you would need is a different sprocket on the back. Max £4 extra. And then you'd have decent cranks and you wouldn't have to worry about rounding/ cracking/ snapping. But he's already bought some anyway
  10. I don't think Steve is going to be doing custom geometry. I think to make it cost-effective he has to order at least 10 frames over (same geo). But you can ask.
  11. What gave you that impression? Not it ain't "chav" stuff. People like what they like, I don't think anyone will be able to change that. I have a friend who is a big fan of Westlife, he has the best-of in his car. I can't convince him to listen to stuff I like, so I gave up
  12. There's not even any need to read the thread. Reading the thread title would suffice, but it seems no-one has even done that

    Firewire?

Yeah, and also I believe some cameras will downgrade the quality when capturing over USB.

    Dents

A dent in the side of a car isn't structural though. The only reason to get a dent out of a trials bike would be if it was going to make the frame stronger again, which it won't. And I am not convinced by people who say dents lead to cracks etc anyway. Just leave them. P.S. it wouldn't work anyway.
  15. The site looks nice but I don't really see any need for it to require >1024 resolution. I'm running 1024 on my laptop and the bottom row of links is cut off. Obviously you can scroll down, but it's not obvious. There is just empty space that isn't being used, so everything could move up anyway. You're only shooting yourself in the foot if people with 1024 (Has to be the world's most popular resolution?) can't read the site properly. Pictures are awesome though. You're so lucky to have that kind of weather and scenery. Fantastic
  16. Does anyone read the thread these days?
  17. Yeah, it's not really a good idea to just dose yourself up on painkillers and then go riding. You'll just do more damage. Just wait for it to heal - I used to pull muscles in my back all the time when I was starting out, and I was never off the bike for more than a week I think. If the worst comes to the worst, just go riding with some other people and take a camera or something. That way you're still basically riding, just not doing yourself any damage. As for healing - once the initial swelling/tenderness has gone down, you could try some deep heat/hot baths to see if that helps. It might do.
  18. That 24UK frame looks like a damn good idea for anyone thinking about trying 24. Should be reasonably priced, knowing Heatsink and MikeBike
  19. Eh? Surely one is better (value) than the other, so it doesn't matter what he's going to be using it for. Last time I looked, Semprons were good value for money, I just bought a 754 2600+ for my dad and it seems good. Fairly cheap too.
  20. I've not seen anyone with a Mobster, they're pretty rare I would say. But they're the same casing and compound as the Minion, so they're probably about as good. Take your pick. Try and get Super Tacky rather than Slow Reezay if you can though - It'll wear a lot better.
  21. Didn't they ever see the "Don't try this at home" thing? Some of those kicks did look really painful, even if the guy did squeal like a girl.
  22. It's probably just a run of bad luck. If that happens every week then yeah, you could start calling it a piece of crap. These things happen, just replace the broken bits and get on with it. P.S. If your chain has broken, it would be sensible to replace it rather than mending it. It's pretty likely that if it's broken in one place, it'll break again.
  23. But the X-tort is hardly a trials-specific frame We could go on for hours about this. Anyway, back to the original topic: I moved from 26 to 24 and I love it. I don't really see how people couldn't like it, but then again I have no idea how 24s are for "big" stuff. Yeah you probably can tap 50", but it's probably safe to say that it won't be as easy as on a 26. I think I switched because I was a bit bored of 26 and just trying to go bigger. So I got a 24 and I love it, never going back When I got my 1040 Leeson, I could do everything I could on my Koxx, in fact it was roughly the same length as the Koxx anyway. But it was just more fun. When that got nicked I got a shorter (1025) Ashton which is noticibly shorter and not as good for gaps etc. However it is more fun to spin about on, and overall I prefer it. I don't think you can go wrong with a long-ish Leeson I'm very interested in when that Inspired will be out though.
