  1. Yep senior novice because i forget to ride the trial bike just too busy riding xc
  2. I will be using mine at bracken rocks this weekend at round 4.
  3. Tape it or patch it from the inside mate, the tyre will be fine
  4. Everyone should haggle with there local trail centre or bike park to get them to build or yourself on there land close to there visitor centres, a good size trials venue, with the hopes of building these venues up to size for our national events so we can be in the spotlight more. localy to me i can send mails out to lallangela, Delamere, Cannock chase, dimmingsdale ect....
  5. Just a guess but could you try putting oil on the inside of the bb a bit at a time till the creak stops, and when it stops the bit you oiled is the creaky join ?
  6. My guess is when your tyre folds on impact it makes what may look fairly straight forward as a direct straight impact into a slightly angled impact due to the tyre folding. So the angled rim has been angled to compensate for the slight change in angle of impact when the tyre folds over to the other side of the rim. if your tyre isn't folding then you could still dent the rim during a pinch flat if your running pressures too low or doing gaps/drops larger than the intended use of the rim and tyre ect... Ect... trials is still pretty new to cycling really, so it doesn't surprise me that all trials components are still labelled as just trials components, they could really do with some of the lighter kit having more warnings that they are for comp use or smooth/lighter riders ect. its just common sence if you dent and bend rims don't buy the lightest ones or you will just keep doing it. double wall rims resist buckles and flat spots more than single wall rims. higher tyre pressures resist dented rims
  7. I would say i ride quite light with the odd ops moments, have pinched my holyroller and fat albert on the rear rim a couple of times. And have no dents or straghtness issues. On my viz single wall rim
  8. I bought mine today, i only just realised your doing senior novice for over 15s i like it
  9. British cycling doesn't even have a trial rider on there uci trials page. the pic is actually someone i work with on his road bike and i have told British cycling to sort it out several times, they really don't care for trials at all. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/20420/UCI-Bike-Trials-World-Cup
  10. I am buying some, for the ozonys i also have a 110 stem on 30mm of stackers atm. what stems should i be looking at getting? (hope xc 70x25-90x10 are my thoughts)
  11. If you want something really good for a little bit more these cateye gps computers are really worth getting hold of. http://m.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=60064
  12. I have always thought the best bike events tend to be bike jams or free to ride events basicly setup loads of fun stuff to ride let riders loose on the sections. and the event organizers can move freely round the site with a bucket of freebies and a megaphone. a similar setup to the free trial demos at tarty days. Just open to who wants a go, and if the judges like what they see throw the rider a prize and the rider would get pictured or even recorded for a video. so riders just ride for fun all day then show of there skills for a bit of glory on the free trial. no winners no loosers no you setup the sections wrong, or needs more tape that way the riders ride what they like, and i belive insurance is much cheaper this way so organisers can put money toward better locations

    Top Speed

www.sheldonbrown.com/gears I would say 120rpm 11.5mph I recently tested this idea I used my cadence sensor on my trials bike I managed to max out 173rpm for 10 seconds but trust me that kind of rpm really hurts. 140-150 on a trials bike is pedalling really fast like you would to clear a large dirt jump. 120rpm is just pedalling quickly
  15. If the onza wheel is using long nipples you could possibly use short nipples and fit the double wall rim, just a guess thou, you would always be better measuring up
  16. 259 both sides if its 26" 232 both sides for 24" 173 both sides 19"
  17. so are the hubs the same but the rims are single for one and double for the other? what hubs are they and which rims?
  18. Those cranks on the onza pro should be the standard 3/16 pedal thread same as your giant trance. Check you have the left to the left side of the bike and the right on the right. sometimes on trials bikes i find the cranks get pretty rough round the threads due to the large impacts. So long as the right pedal is going in just carefully thread it in it will fit.
  19. I really like some of the new ideas the clubs are coming up with to make trials more fun. Keep up the good work, i hope to get out to more asap
  20. Yep 18-14 felt pretty much the same. a Shimano hg cassette tool and chain whip will be the tools you need. And well worth having there genrally £20-30 for both http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/x-tools-bike-tool-kit-27-piece/rp-prod55964 £40 all the tools you will need in most jobs and comes with an isis bb tool
  21. I am running 22-17 on the ozonys feels great
