  2. While were on the subject of not using less important bolts and bike parts. You can run 3 disc bolts, less pedal pins there just heavy, get a drill and drill out all useless alloy on your bike, and change all steel parts for ti or alloy. Once you have all this done you will have saved the weight that kept your bike reliable, now go fix your bike.

Yep I use one bars one Lid light. I find the lid only can bounce so much on rough terran that you get blackouts every now and again, with the addition of the more stable bar light those blackouts are filled in with the bar light, but cant ride without a helmet light as it allows you to see down drops, jupms and round corners. When the fog gets really thick you can only run the bar mount as the high lid mount will render you blind
  4. Sound then I shall start running my Shimano cranks without the tension screw also, its the same as the top cap thing. P.s try this and you will loose your left crank, much the same to your headset will come loose quick or overtime if your lucky. Just get an alloy stem top cap bolt?
  5. I have still got a ps1 and gta, gta London gta 2 and loads of games. Had a play on gta London few months back. I think next time I should drink some beer 1st should make it more fun
  6. Do you ride a bit of dh on the trials bike ? Those pads look quite shot,
  7. The roaches, next to buxton/leek. A bit far north but it maybe the best spot close ish to you

  9. Should be fine Dave, I used same size spokes on my hope pro 2 mtb hub the offsets are a long way from being the same. The spoke calculator came up with 1mm difference but I wanted to buy one pack of spokes. Worked fine.
  10. Would steel effect the performance of the part? Would it need to handle vibrations in a certain way. I am probbably barking the wrong tree thou
  11. I like it. But seems a lot of work to save you having chains snap when you can just run one huge chain instead. Or is there an advantage to the twin chain setup?

  13. I vote for a tf trip to clerits house My tensile 60 worked well for me. Skipped a bit but didn't break. I cant say for other freewheels but it seems good oiling is key to a reliable freewheel
  14. Sorry slightly off topic, next time your in a bike shop have a good sniff of some sks or tourtec full length mudguards. They wiff of some serious smells, not for sensitive noses.
  15. I have an updated chainwhip at work for screw on sprockets. It uses some of that bmx chain as big as moped chain and a very very long handle extended to just over 1 meter long, and a spring loaded bit on the end of the chain to hold it onto the cog so there's no slipage. Works every time.
  16. loads of snapped trials parts in a box

    Chain

Looks promising, so lng as the links are strong those mushroomed pins should hold up.
  18. Dot fluid will dry your skin, think of it as the opposite to moisturiser
  19. Mineral oil and dot 5 don't take on water. So any water that gets into the system will boil or freeze. Which your right doesn't effect trials bikes generally
  20. http://www.epicbleedsolutions.com/blog/ Best read up on brake bleeding yet
  21. I missed a good tip sometimes the air bubbles get trapped so give the hose and caliper a few taps now and again while you have the lever tied up. This way you should be able to get all the air out of the rear brake. I always was under the impression the rear was usualy more spongy because there was more surface area in the system to trap air, so more air made the brakes more spongy. As the hoses are rated to take upto 3000psi and bike hydraulic brakes run much less Than that so don't really flex or expand. My brakes seem as though they are no different front or rear.
  22. Tie the lever to the bar with the brake pressed on and rest the bike on its back wheel so the rear brake hose is all facing up from the rear caliper to the lever. I find putt I Ng the bike on the back wheel and leaning it against a wall works. Doing this makes any air bubbles in the brake compressed and the smaller bubbles will travel to the highest point hopefully into the lever resevoir after a few hours. Once you have done this refill the resevoir. Should feel better.
  23. Now i really really want to get an enduro trial race sorted out at lee quarry. All this year I have been thinking an event at lee quarry using the enduro sections and a few trials sections on the climbs.
