  1. Hey, I told work that I'm away between July 28th ans August 8th as I fancied some time off so quite up for a ride between those dates if I can find a way of getting in. Not back to my normal (shit) standard but need to get back into it at some point so why not! Haven't spoken to Darren in a while, but last time I did we (briefly) discussed heading to ride Bristol on the 29th (Saturday) so I'll try and get hold of him to see if he still wants to, although I'd rather go when one of the various roadtrip groups is about just for the atmosphere/riders really. Ashton's demoing Plymouth on the 31st (Monday) so I'll probably head in then too if you fancy a session.
  2. Yes, this is possible, although being in a cassette the width of the cog will be a little thinner than usual, causing it to dig into the freehub body when you ride. Not really too much of a problem but a little more destructive that's all. You can pick up a DX cog for about £3.50 (sorry I don't have a link I can give to you right now) or something similar if you wish, which will have a slightly wider base resulting in less pressure to the freehub, but not essential.
  3. Any chance of moving the Plymouth ride forward to the Sat (12th)at all? Possibly switching it round with the Dartmoor ride as there isn't much travelling in between them. Purely selfish reasons due to work of course If not will just have to pull a swift one I think (blagged so much time off recently for one reason or other...) If not will definately try and join you in Bristol (always wanted to ride there) and Exeter as it's only an hour or so away. Sounds like a good trip though, good thinking!
  4. Know exactly what you mean mate, All the little connecting or finishing bits of moves, keeping the flow there etc Can't beat it! Or maybe I'm just saying that beacause I can't tap for shit, or sidehop 45" or whatever... Nah, keep it real home boy!
  5. Yeah, first step is to talk to the owners, and if the noise persists, then you can get the council involved. They start by asking them (politely) then if it carries on they start with the more aggressive letters etc. 'til something is done about it
  6. He's out most saturdays so I'd imagine so, although I think I've slept funny on my bad side so I'm not gonna be up to much, going to head to a mates a help him build up and sort out his new rig. Can't remember a thing about what happened though, which is still a little worrying. Few hours memory loss, scraped and scared etc. Sprained wrist and semi-mobile shoulder being the last of the remaining marks now though, so should be ok for next weekend I think. Darren and myself may head to Bristol on the 29th perhaps, train from Plymouth up if you fancy it. Not sure on the details yet but if you're interested let me know Have a good one
  7. still f**ked up from being hit by a car but i may head in if i can. If i do will probably be on the 1.41 train from Ivy though, so will be in from about 2.00pm, will see what I can sort. If I get in I'm sure I'll spot you somewhere
  8. I used to run a bashguard for 3 piece, which had a integrated spider for small rings (I was/still am running a 24th ring) however, I stripped the threads and am now running a standard kind of spider with a 24 tooth ring on the inner setting. Room for a bash if I can get hold of one, and works fine
  9. Just relax, take it easy and chill, keep it safe and you should have no problems (Yeah bit late I know...) Oh, and guessing you should be getting back fairly shortly, so how'd it go?!
  10. What happened with the Iolo order? Bike looks nice and tidy though, but 1015 is damn short! Maybe a different fork on there just to give you that little bit more length perhaps? Mind you, if you like the way it rides there's no need to change anything, so ignore me, most people do... Would advise trying riding with a chain and attached brakes at some point though
  11. Stupid f**king car...! If I can repair myself enough, and get off work, will be there If not, have a good one!
  12. Also sounds like it could possibly be a pedal that needs greasing Give them a spin and see if they spin freely or if there is a lot of resistance Even if this isn't the problem, it's best to keep them clean and lubed anyhoo! As suggested before, check all bolts etc. are done up tight enough, but don't overtighten things as this will cause just as many problems
  13. Would it not be when he skewered himself and split some part or other inside his body? Has joined the Kona squad since, but he was in a messed up way for quite some time
  14. Right, Darren and I are gonna get the 1.40 from Ivy, so be in about 2, any chance of a place/number to try and find you guys, rather than riding randomly in hope
  15. What time are you riding?May be able to grab the train in still, as I think I'mm gonna have to work tomorrow too Anybody else with you?
  16. Nice one, if I can get in will let you know
  17. Ah, that would make more sense, was wondering why it's so short notice... Not sure what time I'm working, but a number or whatever would be good just in case
  18. Byany raw chance that someone is still at home on the forum and is going to this ride: I'm thinking of heading in but train is at 1.40 so wont be for a while, unless i can find another way in Any chance of grabbing a number or something to find you guys?
  19. Nice, loved the editing although I think now that it's been done, (and done well), that should be kept more for intros etc, as it seemed to take over a little in places. Still, some nice riding in there, as well as the coolness of the start! Nice work
  20. Have you found somewhere to build it for you, as not many people work with aluminium. Leeson, Curtis, Iolo etc are all steelworkers, due to the relative simplicity of it, whereas alu causes all sorts of problems with fatigue, treating etc. Geo sounds tasty though mate, be sure to get some pictures up when it's done
  21. www.woollyhatshop.com £10 kit, sorted
  22. Pop down to your LBS and see if theyhave any old cassettes/spacers kicking about, if so pinch those so you still have yours in tact but can have a play. The pins should just tap out, and I'm sure they would do it for you if you asked nicely!
  23. Crack apart your cassette (knock out pins) Find some extra spacers (you may need to crack another cassette, perhaps an old one or something) Choose your cog and fit it in the same manner you would a singlespeed set May still need a tensioner of some sort, unless you are running horizontal dropouts
