But seriously mate, you do need to sort it out...
-
Spell check...
-
Looks nice mate. Kinda like a cross between Shrews' and Boons (or at least there's bits that seem to remind me of them) I like. Tell you what, why don't you hand it over to me, and I won't steal your pocket money...
-
Just call it 24", not exactly hard, and since that's what we've all called it so far, may as well stick with it
-
As a slightly older member (only 18 but still, on this forum...) I know what you're on about with the whole 'mods and rockers' thing, and think the 'Mods Vs Stockers' ride/comp sounds like a good idea. Perhaps not in an aggressive knife-fight way but (with the risk of people getting a little rowdy at the whole mod/stock thing) could make for an interesting session. One thing - what about us 24"?
-
Looks a lot like the one that's for sale at the minute What's the spec? (can't see it all from the pic)
-
Any chance of link to bigger pic? Be nice to see what spec you're running, but looks good from this far out...
-
Be nice to see the whole bike... Looks nice from what I can see though, even if it is long, low and silver...

Allrite New Here It Trials Goose
Luke Rainbird replied to trials goose's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Aargh! It was all going so well too! (Little more spacing would be nice too...) Welcome to the forum mate, and a good post. Makes a change I must say... Have you tried gapping at all yet, or have you come on to find some advice before you give it a shot? If not, give it a go next time you are out and about on a ride - just along the flat road for starters. I'm assuming you can pedal kick/lunge etc. (sorry but when I hear 'backhop' i just think of when I was starting and bouncing bacwards on the rear wheel [as shown on tricks and stunts!!]) so you shouldn't have too much trouble picking it up, its just a matter of dipping the front a little and putting in that bit more forward push. Check out www.trashzen.com if you don't seem to be able to work it out - helpful source of information for most trials moves. -
Short local ride: Phone (sometimes) Multi tool Spoke key Longer/Day rides: Bag containing: Pump Spare tube/s Multi tool Spoke key Phone Music of some sort Wallet Car keys (if I've driven anywhere!) Occasionally water/food

Sorry if I'm not quite getting this but I'm sure that the general idea of horizontal dropouts (other than tweakable chainstay length) was to enable you to run singlespeed without a chain tensioner. Are you sure that the link is making it too small/too big? Sorry if that sounded like I don't believe you, just find it quite surprising Anyway, back to helping... I'm currently running a tensioner (vertical dropouts so no choice really) but also whacked a half-link into my KMC Kool chain and I haven't had a single problem with it. I also have a fair few BMXer friends who run half-link chains, and only one of them has had a problem with it. This was, however, a bit of a one-off by he seems of it, as he phoned the place he bought it and they replaced it. Since then he's had no problems. All in all I'd say try putting a half-link into the chain, and if that doesnt work, you may have to go for a tensioner I guess edit; cheers jersey!

By all means say something like, "Help required with <technique>" or something, but I think what Joe was trying to say was make sure you include a bit more information than just calling a thread, "Help!" It's annoying to look into a thread just to have to see that it was pointless for you to do so, make life easy for people. If they know what you need help with, they are more likely to look in and help if they can Take it easy mate, just put a bit of time into your posts, post relevant/helpful stuff and no pointless threads, and you will be fine. Just remember that validation can take time, it's nothing personal, and it may be a little frustrating at times, but you've just got to live with it I'm afraid!
-
To save another thread - any ideas for a similar stem but for oversize bars? Or a way to lengthen my steerer/get it replaced other than Clive Leeson (Already e-mailed him!) perhaps. Basically just want to raise the bars a bit. (Sorry to crash the thread but figured was the best place for it...) Cheers, Luke

I think you can buy braze-on mounts, probably from CRC or Tartybikes but I haven't checked that so no promises! If you cant find them then I'm sure someone on here will either bave an old dead frame that you could pinch one off, or speak to Clive Leeson (or similar) as I'm sure he could help you out. Hope you get it sorted mate, Luke http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1269 - That any good?

Hey Pete, Long time no speak, and I'm just getting back into my riding and onto the forum! If you are even considering 24", go for it! So much fun... Still need that ride, and since I have now told work that from next week I can only work Sundays it should be easier to sort out too!

Very Pissed Off About Posting Messages!
Luke Rainbird replied to hill_393's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
It's easier to pick out and validate the smaller amount of worthy pre-members than to ban every bloody pre member other than these, due to the sheer number of people like you who don't stick to the fundamental rules and then complain Then you should have realised how much better this forum runs than most others surely? The system is in place and it works, end of Then for one you shouldn't be complaining if you hardly ever come on - especially when you claim to make regular contributions to the forum. One month + few posts + no respect for the rules or other members = no validation. Seems to add up to me (and that's with further maths at A-Level so don't question the maths!) Have you ever tried to run a forum of this size whilst studying at uni? -No? Then how are you to say that the Admin have the time for an area of the forum where they would mostly be wasting precious time? -Yes? Let's see it! There's plenty on advice dotted about, and if you stick to the rules then you are giving yourself the best possible chance! Seems pretty self explanitory to be quite honest... Yes, It is, so why did you bother?! Sorry guys, bit of a rant but this has annoyed me a bit too -
Just make your own levels if you are bored of the ones in game. Copy the levels as backup and tweak the files - so easy it can be done in paint! If you make anything really nice - or anyone for that matter, please share! Maybe we could get a small variety of rider-made levels from each other and have a play, rate-my-level etc... See if we can come up with the most supreme level ever between us!
-
Look at what's been done before: Ashton - rides like a beast but few strength issues Leeson/Curtis - Awesome! Little more weight but not a problem. I say go steel, especially if is custom, as can have it exactly as you want it. Oh, and if it's cheap, give me a shout!
-
Indeed... Good point well raised poopipe
-
Yeah cleaned construction yard a few times Getting a few of the others at the minute
-
Sorry but that made me laugh
-
See if you can get some pics up mate, will help to fix the bikes in anyone's mind etc. Hope they are both found/returned

What Would Be The First Thing You Would Do....
Luke Rainbird replied to Kerrie-Anne's topic in Chit Chat
The usual - House/Debt for parents, help out family and friends with what I could. I'd pay my way through uni, and that of my brothers, and then buy myself a few guitars and a shack on a beach in Hawaii. Yeah, it's Hawaii, but I'm talking shack shack - corrugated iron 3 walls and a roof job. Nice open front looking out across the sea, probably give up trials etc. to head out there and chill with my music and surfing/wakeboarding and a few friends. Would still be working etc. rather than actually living on the winnings, but they would clearly make a difference (assuming £10m as someone said earlier) Let's just work at the whole uni thing for now though... -
Each to his own opinion - I'm not a fan either to be completely honest, but you've gotta bear in mind that this is Danny's signiture frame, not yours, so it's been his decision what to include/leave out. At the end of the day it's done, but maybe 24seven will take heed of peoples views in order to make a more marketable frame sometime in the future

Don't forget that if you found it easier to pick stuff up on a mod, but are looking for a larger bike to take things further, then there's the Zoot 24" - Full build available from www.tartybikes.co.uk and within your budget. However, options such as the Zip and the T-Rex make for good alternatives also within the price range
