  1. I'm a pretty good situation really, compared to many, but it is difficult being stuck in a flat for weeks on end. I'm usually traveling the country, staying away for work once or twice a week. Meeting people constantly etc... Since I got back from Malaysia at the end of Feb I've been sat in the flat. I still have my job, but it's really not an email-based job, so I'm not achieving much. Like I say, others have it way worse, but it's still frustrating.
  2. Yup, I'm going out of my mind slowly. Life has totally changed for me and I'm fed up with it.
  3. Insert eggplant emoji here. That thing is beautiful!
  4. I agree the acting/cheese isn't really necessary and is a bit distracting. The riding is awesome though, he's ridiculously good on a bike.
  5. That data wasn't really intended as an answer to your question, just interesting to compare this year against the other years that didn't have a pandemic...
  6. Since the Office for National Statistics hasn't published all of April yet, it's difficult to finish off these stats, but I ran some numbers from their data just out of curiosity... Here is the data they hold on all UK deaths in the first four months of each year: 2016: 188,999 2017: 192,899 2018: 211,037 2019: 187,775 2020: 207,336 The data for 2020 only goes up to the 17th of April, so it is likely to actually be around 257,000 I would estimate. If we assume it is around 257,000, Coronavirus certainly seems to have taken more of a toll than regular seasonal flu. No conspiracy theories attached to this, I just wanted to see proper figures rather than media hype.
  7. Hard to get a sense of scale from the photos, how long is it?
  8. Could it be some kind of boot scraper / bath? Looks a bit big for it, but I've seen some Victorian scrapers with a little bath... maybe that old metal you found is part of the scraper? Probably not, but it's all I could think of...
  9. I have no idea, but that's a cool find! Amazing to think what's buried around the place.
  10. Awesome, furthest north I've been is Dundee, but I'm hoping to head your direction soon (Well, you know, "soon"). I want to properly explore Scotland, it's a stunning place.
  11. How remote is that location? Looks awesome, I'd love to wake up to that view every day!
  12. But he's got a good, y'know, one of those *points roughly where a brain should be*
  13. Rhetorical question, I assume.
  14. Trump doesn't give a shit about anyone other than himself. How he got into power, I'll never know.
  15. Is it ex-BG or just the same colour? Looks tidy anyway!
  16. Yeah, this is true, but a good place to start is from decent recommendations. Almost everyone has suggested the IKEA Markus so far (Not just on here), so it must be pretty good. If you read reviews of more generic brands on eBay / Amazon you mostly end up with mixed reviews from "AMAZING!" to "WORST THING EVER" on the same chair, so difficult to buy based on that... As soon as the Markus is available in Bristol, I'll be getting that I think.
  17. Can you actually just explain yourself rather than posting cryptic stuff? Denmark is not in the UK and is adopting a slightly different approach to us... as are many countries... what are you getting at?
  18. I had decided to just go for this before everyone above posted replies, there's no stock in my area
  19. Weird that you should ask, I'm looking too. One of my friends recommended this: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/markus-office-chair-vissle-dark-grey-30261152/ I'll watch this topic for other suggestions before I click buy on that
  20. Seriously? I mean I have no doubts that the media hype it up as much as possible, to generate that click revenue, but yeah - one of my colleagues has died, two or three friends have been in hospital with it... And these are regular fit & healthy people, not morbidly obese or anything. Other than several thousand dead people, what other proof would you like that it's dangerous?
  21. I really hope you're right, but assuming we get let out of the cage fully in July or August, I can't see things magically repairing in 4 months... Most financial experty types are suggesting a decade and again I hope they're wrong. Guess we've got to just ride the wave and see what happens.
  22. Nobody is focusing on the financial side at the moment though, it's all about death toll. Lots of my friends have lost their jobs, tons of businesses will be going bust, they're just not making the headlines... I hope that once we get the green light, businesses can just re-open and go again, but I have a feeling a lot won't be able to. I hope I'm wrong.
  23. A widespread lack of wealth has a direct impact on health though, does it not? I'm not talking about people having to sell their Ferrari either. I see what NINJA is saying and yes, I think the aftermath will have a huge effect on the world.
