  1. Hero! The man rules on a bike, any bike.
  2. There's no reason you wouldn't get on with a stock, my mate Ben Johnson is 6'4"+ and is more comfortable on a mod than a stock and I'm 5'8" ish and find a 1090wb stock more comfortable than anything else I've ridden. See if you can borrow a mates, give it a go, shouldn't take you too long to transfer across what you know from one bike to the other.
  3. Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun! So who did what to what cars then?
  4. I'm there, hopefully be bringing Ben Moore with me too i know Joe Seddon was planning on coming again too, don't know about Andrei.Hopefully the turn out will be as good this time as last.
  5. Ok so you need: vee adaptors pads lever cable front brake forks headset stem bars grips BB pedals front wheel tyres tubes seatpost seat seat clamp tensioner chain rear cog front cog bash guard And i'm sure there are more things i missed. Just looking at the number of items you need, new parts aren't really possible. I'm afraid its a case of scouring Ebay for bargains, but even then i think you'll be hard pushed to come in on budget. What rear wheel do you have?
  6. I had one too can't find the pics, was lovely until it got nicked think mine was either 006 or 008, black the same as yours.
  7. Nope ran Sram cassettes on my last 5 mtb's and not had any issues, what cassette are you running? You use a new chain with it?
  8. 24 isn't old at all, mainly because I'm that age, but then I didn't start til I was 21. Yes messing up can be costly and I have to think about that fact and going to work after the weekend, it does hold you back slightly but it doesn't stop you having fun. Try and find some other people to ride with and get on it!
  9. The whole long/short natural/street thing is a load of rubbish really, surely it depends on the riders size, stock or mod etc It is possible to have one bike for all, you'll just have to compromise on some things. What sized wheel would you want to run?
  10. Do you have the frame yet? Exactly how much of a budget do you have to work with? What brakes (if any) do you intend on running?
  11. Got to say its really quite nice in black and white As Luke said, black pedals and it'll be spot on!
  12. Weather did look a b it shitty, but that can't be helped, apart from changing the date. Sections looked ok from what you could see, won't pass judgement until the full video is released.
  13. This. Most likely putting pressure on your ulna nerve, could be down to your grips, bar/stem set up or your lever position. I've got a trapped ulna nerve up in my elbow makes my arm go numb at random moments, painful and inconvenient; unfortunately the doctor could advise nothing
  14. Sweeeeeeet. Kicker for the tour is a yes.
  15. Run double maggie on my stock and love it but having ridden Joe Seddon's dual hope disc mod theres no doubt in my mind its the best option for a mod.
  16. 18:13 with 175's feels fine, don't know how much of a difference shorter cranks would make but i'm guessing as you'll be doing minimal trialsy stuff 18:12 would be win.
  17. I use a 100 x 10* Thomson stem, seems fine, but then bar choice makes a big difference too. That Tarty stem is pretty long for a 24", should be ok for a Because comp 24" frame, but not for an Inspired/Ashton etc
  18. Its pure genius, saw it last night, really want to see it again.
  19. Probably a lot to do with the fact its a cheap brake, they weren't particularly well made and certainly weren't designed for trials use.
  20. Its a system designed to use DOT fluid so I'd say no.
  21. Nicely put together and some awesome imaginative lines in there.
  22. Really enjoyed that, editing was good, Mod stuff was pretty big and the 24" stuff was impressive
  23. Certainly would look at Rockshox, Revelations and Reba's, Fox forks are great, love the 36's i have on my Intense, although there is a common problem with the stanchions wearing on the disc side on a lot of Fox forks.
