1 - If something of breaks what is you first thought? what method is possible to interim repair that will enable further use of the part that has broken, or replace if this can't be done with anything available (or anything of low cost) and won't prevent the part from breaking again. Also how much it will cost to replace in corellation to how much it will cost to repair. 2 - Would you attempt to repair it? if not then why? Yes, but dependent on effect and reason for repair, i.e. "to keep you going" or "to repair for a longer life span" I guess aesthetics would play a part in this descision also... for example a broken table leg, could possibly be fixed by adding a support (simple example) but this would be more favourable repair if the repair couldnt be seen?... 3- During repair, would you do it properly or go for a cheap bodge solution? Do it properly to ensure maximum life of the product. But then would look to the cheapest and most effective solution. 4 - What would you do if you if you couldn’t or didn’t want to repair it? Most likely save the broken part to help in repair something later or possible re-use of components for same / different application. Failing that it would be refused of. 5 - What do you think is limiting products from being repair easily by the owner? Use of materials? complexity of designs?. Companies securing spare parts / sales of new parts by limiting a products ability to be repaired by the consumer. 6- If you had a choice of buying something that is rated as being simple and easier to repair when broken, would you buy this over the standard? Or would it just be more hassle to do everything yourself? Yes, completely.

Hi The 68mm part of your bb measurement refers to the width of the shell If you remove your bb from the frame and measure the actual axle part, it most likely will be 128mm (could even be labelled on the bb as a graphic or sticker I.e. 68x128mm) If this is the case it may be worth looking at a narrower axle bb. For example 68mm x 122mm (narrower axle should bring your chain a little closer inbound and stop the rubbing on the stay. May even be able to go down as far as a 68mm x 113mm (or there abouts) Check the bb is in the correct way too - should be labelled on the bb: L & R (left and right) Hope this helps and you get the problem sorted anyway Cheers Barry

hey guys, thanks for posting Aaron. I've not put a video together for some time, and thought it'd keep me occupied while I'm out here, was a bit of fun making it anyhow, as you can see I've only brought a pocket-size tripod!! It's a good point greetings, though I did come across a place last week I was well pleased to find, two mins from the hotel, a pure chance find near a war museum here, that sort of looked like it had a rock to ride on google. So I had a ride down peeking through the fence, then as I looked right saw this place! it is separate to the enclosed museum which is lucky! (I'll try post a picture below). As Dave said I'm here for work for just over 6 weeks, so I'm glad I brought a bike! I do miss the Shipley Glen though! China is crazy big! I was also gutted I missed the Shanghai competition, that would have been nice to watch... I arrived the same weekend aswell. Cheers guys - see u soon!

Hi yes you can get a day membership (DM) to ride the one comp, when you turn up just have to pay the DM fee and the entry fee together, complete the form etc. But I believe, if you are wanting to do any more after that one, it's prefered that you take out an annual membership. - worth it, good fun!

I agree with all the comments above... and was shocked to read about their already being limitations to riding at Shipley Glenn (I had no idea) - when I have been there I've never heard a bad word from people passing by. Like Sam said - most are considerate to others, example if I see someone near by I'll wait until they have passed, especially dog walkers as I know the sound of the brakes probably drives the dogs mad. But it's the fact that people take time out of their lives to be so negative and submit a complaint, for me that time could be spent better, perhaps enjoying something! People are probably tiring of me saying it, but during the olympics when the comment: "Just shows Britain really is a cycling nation" made me laugh, is it bolloc*s! I can imagine people complain, but what, what points do they use to support the complaints in this case?. sorry, bit of a rant. and bit unrelated to the topic - but wanted to remark!

What a classic! Reminds me of (like most have said) the good times / the good years of trials! The bikes are all black ha but as Aaron said: Klaus (topic starter) on - Planet X Zebdi & pashley forks Barry (myself) on the Planet X pitbull Errol on a merlin xc frame - true fact: has and rides the same bike to this day and is almost unchanged other than different forks!! Thanks for posting klaus! Such good times! Miss that pitbull it was bulletproof haha! Cheers guys
