  1. My friend has a silver, we compared footage from his and my Hero 1 and it looks almost exactly the same. The angle of view on the Hero 3 is a bit better. The cinema quality of the Black is nonsense, you almost certainly don't have the computing power to edit that footage let alone display it. Either way I'd get the Black, only because if you're going to buy something, buy the best. That way you can go without replacing it for much longer.
  2. The way I always put tyres on is to have the rear hook onto obstacles stopping you from rolling backwards, opposite for the front. This usually gives more rolling resistance for the rear but the front should be facing the "correct" way.
  3. Managed to tap 50" today which could well be my personal best and all this despite going over to a really light gear ratio. It's so good to finally see progress. Going to focus on sidehops and gaps now.
  4. 10g a year is less than 1m once in your lifetime. If you're good with money - 1m will get you much further. I'd invest it in some property, start a business there. Lots of possibilities.
  5. Use the rear tyre. I'm crap at sidehops, my best is probably just shy of 44" but I can't even get up 40" if my rear tyre has no bounce. It's all about timing, you need to feel the tyre compress and start jumping before it begins to rebound. I feel that the best way to compress the tyre is to do a quick preload while keeping your muscles relaxed followed immediately by an explosive jump. As for the amount of preload - use as much as you feel is right. Like said above, it all depends on your strength and muscles. What for some might be enough, for you could be too much and you'll be using much of your strength to straighten your legs rather than jump upwards.
  6. Now I know why my shipments from Echo (which is located in Guangzhou) arrive so battered.
  7. JT made some chese pads but I think they got eaten before testing could begin.
  8. Well then, I'm off to buy a 4-pack of Red Bull to thank them for making this film.
  9. 15 tonnes braking load? KMC's are like 1.3 - 1.5t
  10. I just tried nitro thinner on my keyboard and it doesn't work. So probably sanding or painting, not sure about the 2nd one because you might finish up with dirty fingers.
  11. Went to the petrol station in the M3 to buy some Somersby, my mate spotted me and stopped by in a Megane RS. The car that has been daunting me ever since a competitor has demolished my times in one of these in 5 consecutive comps. I was offered a drive. This wasn't the Cup version so it didn't have the LSD, upgraded chassis and better dampers but still it handles (and it's hard for me to say this) better than the M3. 310bhp going through the front wheels on a fast 3rd gear corner and you can't even feel it. It's as flat as can be through the corners, steering feels mighty responsive, throttle less so. Amazing car when you think it's completely stock, has satnav, AC, a passenger seat, rear seats and lots of other things my car doesn't have.
  12. As you can see from the vegetables on the right - yes.
  13. I've never figured out this move on stuff which exceeds 7 pallets. I find it really difficult to get the front wheel just the right height and not waaay over the ledge. Congrats!
  14. Managed to remove some potted flowers from a balcony literally moments before a gutter cleaning company moved in on it, previously finding that the door was locked and there was no key. It was such a weird experience having removed them and literally seconds later seeing through the window two guys on the balcony who didn't use the door to get there. Close shave.
  15. Had a good ride. Nice to finally have the skills which make riding fun again.
  16. Phones can interfere with optical mice as well. I usually know I'm getting a text when the screen starts randomly scrolling down.
  17. Makes sense. Imagine calling a snow storm "glorious summer weather".
  18. Do Australians have summer in December and winter in June? I'm talking about terminology, not what the weather is like.
  19. Time for me to post a Jardoesque photo.
  20. I know people on here don't like him, but I think Chris Harris is one of the best motoring journalists out there.
  21. Update on the car. Starting to look a hell of a lot better, still a lot of work though.
  22. I can't get an answer to this question, please help me. I've been re-painting parts of the bimmer. Due to weather, I've only managed to put on the colour and one thick clear coat before the weather went bad (actually, I had to do that twice because I completely failed the first time due to a storm). Now I need to finish the job and apply a few more coats of clear before polishing. How do I prepare the surface? Do I use wet and dry, if so what grade? Or do I apply the clear coat directly onto the old one? I painted in on Friday. With regards to polishing: 2500 wet and dry and then polish away with some paste? Not looking for a detailing type of finish, just a smooth clear coat rather than the orange peel. edit: also, need to purchase a polishing machine. What kind of RPM will I be working at most of the time? I can see the cheaper ones work at 900-3800 with 7 speed settings (so presumably every 400rpm) while slightly more expensive ones seem to be infinite between 0-3000RPM. Should I invest 30 quid more in the second one?

    Films!?

Nah, not that. It's got elements of science fiction in it and starts in a high tech lab. At the beginning I'm sure there's some talk about human gene sequencing that's just been completed and this is relevant to the main character, then on the operating table. He later comes alive and flees but there's something very mysterious about him. It could also be that he's wearing a mask throughout the film which he shouldn't take off or doesn't want to (damn, that memory could be influenced by you mentioning Vanilla Sky ).

    Films!?

Looking for a film: Probably released around 2000. Thriller. Starts with a man on an operating table (I think) having his face transplanted or something? And there's some talk that the lab in which he's in has just finished sequencing all human genes which seems to be relevant to this man. I think the man later escapes and there's something strange about him or his face (could be that he lacks an identity since he's been engineered), or he has to wear a mask and he's chased by some scientists/army/police. It's definitely not "the man without a face" and not face off, I saw it in a theatre when I was around 12-15 years old.
