  1. Me too probably, although I don't watch TV so I was probably out riding.
  2. I'd like to understand though, perhaps I'm missing something. Let's say that the Android email client loads 3 seconds on my mobile, on a newer one it will load in 1s? Is that it?
  3. Can someone explain to me why spend so much money on a mobile phone? What do you guys use them for? I seriously cannot understand it. Mine does all I need it to and I think it's already pretty dated by today's standards but not once in the past year have I considered replacing it because it's just brilliant. It's a Desire Z or something like that. In what practical way is say an S3 / One X / [insert random characters here] better than my phone?
  4. Don't really want to start a new thread for something that probably won't get much views so here's a vid from today's ride:
  5. They're grey not black and they've been around for quite a few months now. With SL forks, the Lite full build comes out at 1010mm. I think the reason Tarty only now have them in stock is that only recently Echo got rid of that retarded 116mm spacing on 24" and 26" bikes. edit: I'm not a fan of mods, frankly speaking I hate them but those "new" Lite frames feel pretty nice, definitely not too short even with the standard 150x30 stem.
  6. Last year when I had a mono infection I was also checked for toxoplasmosis because it has similar symptoms. However, it's a fairly rare infection.
  7. I have a mouse trap set in my room all the time during autumn/winter. Better to get rid of rodents before they settle in. I'd recommend you do the same especially if you only stay there during the weekends. I've managed to catch a few field mice in the past using U-Matic tapes which we have plenty of. I just build a wall around the corner or piece of furniture the mouse is hiding under and then one by one start removing objects from within that area. Umatic tapes are pretty massive and work perfectly for this purpose, normal VHS probably wouldn't because the mouse would just jump over them. Although if you're dealing with Fat Albert then that might not be the case.
  8. Yeah in all fairness the lack of warranty doesn't stop them from being good bars. They used to be a generic construct like Rockman/Bonz/Born which seem to hold up really well (had mine for 2 years now), I think the new ones are updated with a different fibre pattern, much like Trialtechs or the Karbon forks. Even if they did come with a warranty, you probably wouldn't snap them before it expired.
  9. Doubt it, the linkages shouldn't get that tight. If anything, they're too loose. I'll give it a go though. What do you mean by the focus reference? The box is a 6 speed Getrag 420G off a BMW V8. In car related news, found this on the TG website, possibly the most awesome parking ever? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_Yq0enkHWzs
  10. Furthermore, they've turned the lack of warranty into a kind of trademark, No-War or something like that Now that's good marketing.
  11. Does anyone know anything about how shifters work? Could any of the below parts cause the sifter to feel jerky? It should be smooth, in my case you need to apply quite a lot of pressure to get into gear but once you pass the tight spot, it goes in instantly.
  12. My stock is a sub 8kg bike. I used to ride a 10.5kg bike. All I can say is that weight saving is a whole load of bollocks. It doesn't benefit you at all unless perhaps you ride a lot of natural and want to ride as long as possible. If you shed a lot of weight in one go, you might find it worthwhile on the first, maybe second ride. On that basis one could ask why I ride a light bike, the only reason is that I enjoy nice parts which are usually light and my riding style is such that these parts last.
  13. Why is it so high? Car would look really nice if it weren't for that rather odd front end In case anyone is interested, here's a video from a really fun mountain pass I shot last week. It's by no means the stuff you'd get in the Alps but it's such a fun drive none the less. Descent starts at around 6:00.
  14. What do you mean by wonky? edit: off centre? If so that is the pic, camera has a very wide lense. Other problem is oil on the exhaust, diff is leaking. The left half shaft mount is falling out. Part of what's visible should actually be inside the diff. This was attended to and with no results. I've left the car with someone else now, a guy who actually thinks before trying to fix anything. Something had to be wrong with the mount, I've spoken to a friend who has Veyron levels of power in his M3 and he hasn't experienced this issue. He uses his fuel budget mostly on dumping the clutch in 1st gear while on very wide slicks so I should be safe buying a new mount.
  15. Well that went well. Spot two things wrong with this picture... one might not be that obvious. GoPro registering everything that happened between the 2nd run where it all went tits up after dumping the clutch through my "talk" with the guy who built the car right up to loading the car onto the trailer and heading back home for the win. Had no idea it was recording, have 3 hours of footage, mostly audio. I can't find any solace in the fact that my only run was the 2nd fastest out of about 60 cars. It was just a terrible day.
  16. Thanks guys, glad you like it First sprint event tomorrow, raining currently so I'm taking with me a set of rain wheels, slicks and a pair of R1R's. Not sure what to think about the last set, it's kind of not here nor there... Nope, however I doubt you'd have any problems if you were stopped with slicks on a dry sunny day. You could have a problem if you were pulled over in the rain and would definitely have a problem if you caused an accident. There's a lot of sensible freedom over here which I really like. Kind of like the UK used to be 20-30 years ago or so my dad says. Cheers! Your posts are all but boring though, really enjoy the lengthy photostories. I can relate to most of the problems or mods you're carrying out I took the advice coming from many people on here and bought some padding. After spending 40 quid on 1m of styrofoam I feel my life is complete. This is the most ridiculous expense ever. Not sure if it's installed correctly? Should I use zipties or something else? Wet set: Not sure how it will perform, it was excellent in the Touring but this car is both lighter and more powerful so...
  17. You'll all be pleased that this is the last pic from the lengthy photo shoot. That's it, no more spamming! Also found these wheels in the garage, must say they look rather nice from a distance. Got proper tyres in the mail today too. After the first ride I think I need to decrease the front camber by about 2 degrees, the car doesn't stop too well. Reduced the damping from maximum (no idea why it was at this setting) to the middle. Should also improve matters.
  18. Big car is being fixed. Both longerons are bent but not badly Insurance working out well, should get 2g's more than it's going to cost to fix. Full repaint coming in autumn, in the mean time I need this car badly so just going to have to put up with the front end being painted in 4 different colours. Also some M3 detail pics:
  19. Quite serious issues with the 2.0tdi then. Camshaft failure? Doesn't sound good at all. I must say that this disqualifies the Passat in my eyes Frankly speaking I'm looking for something more powerful, the 170bhp 2.0tdi is something I could probably live with if it was coupled to a DKG box. I've driven a Scirocco R with that box and it was sensational. However, switching over to a 1.9 diesel with 140bhp after having covered 60k miles in a daily driver with almost 300bhp is not something I'd like. I'm a fairly slow driver but I'm used to having a lot of power under the right foot when needed. Plus, whatever I get needs to be able to tow a 2 tonne trailer.
  20. I think it's 232 non disc? Annoyingly, Echo have a habit of including slightly too short spokes with their front wheels.
  21. I think it was overpriced but that's no excuse to ruin someone's thread and create an argument about it. I don't know why people do it, perhaps it's some ridiculous form of jealousy combined with boredom.
