  1. Chris Akrigg has no balls, style or imagination. And I'm serious.
  2. My Grandad, who's dead now, was a mechanic in the RAF during WW2, following which, he was part of Sir Frank Whittle's team that developed and built the first jet engine. he got an OBE for his contribution to the project. Sadly he died before my parents were even married and I don't really know much about him.
  3. the firsat bit reminds me of the interludes in Tricks and Stunts (with the Dust Junkys soundtrack). I remember hacking about like in coldblow that on my 20" frame giant back in the day, I actually bought a rigid XC bike the other day to try and recapture some of the magic! good find
  4. aaaay!! Nice one Ron! good to see you back on a trials bike! x
  7. Put a shirt on you poser!! Nice video mate - I haven't been to Dudwood for ages! I'm 'planning on' dragging myself away from these essays and translations for a ride on saturday at some point, are you free? I might have a little surprise for you as well (edit: you'd think I'd have learned to spell by now)

  9. yeah - I got mine for free too (still, my Dad was the doctor that referred me)
  10. Coogan's run - the quizzers. On Coogan live: It was excellent! I'd never seen him being so theatrical - with the songs and everything, it was quite different to anything on DVD (or in the case of most of the Coogan stuff I own, VHS). Highlights for me were Paul and Pauline Calf, and when he shot JFK by accident - f*cking gold!
  11. something's either unique or it isn't... can't download this at work, so i'll post back later once i've listened to it.
  12. this is where it all started, age 16ish, on a 20" frame Giant. GT tequesta, the head tube fell off it in the end... this is the only photo i could find of this bike, i bought the frame to replace the GT. had to trim the side knobbles off a 2.3" tioga DH to get it to fit! this replaced the DDG bought this off baz huskinson in 2002 then went long(er) low(er) and silver(er)

  19. i think what he meant to say is that the daddy longlegs spider (not native to the UK) has the most lethal venom known to man. luckily, it's fangs aren't strong enough to penetrate skin, so it's useless. That's what I've heard anyway. It could be an urban (rural?) myth. edit: the UK daddy lonlegs is the crane fly. harvestmen are something else.
  20. "The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them."
  21. that's an urban myth. on morse code again - the "special" text message tone on most mobile phones is morse code for SMS.
