  1. I think it's kind of nice that people still acknowledge them as 74Kingz, even though they're now made by Heatsink Nothing against Heatsink - I used to love the pads - it's just a cute little legacy.
  2. Needed something to do on a Sunday evening, so decided to use what I had saved up rather than wait longer for a full, decent video
  3. If you're fat/heavy, radial can also exert a lot more pressure on the rim. Enough that it can be the difference between a cracked rim and a very strong wheel. I've had issues with 1x, too. 2x seems to be alright so far (couldn't get hold of the right length spokes), but if you don't need to, why take the risk for the sake of (I don't know how many so it's a pure guess) 8 grams? I'd go 4, 5 or 6x if the hub didn't get in the way 3x seems to be sufficient for me to not crack rims though. 3x3x4lyf.

  5. It is my desire that you make videos far more frequently. First line was just COOL. Frame looks superultramegapimp too.
  6. That video is pure, unadulterated propaganda. I find it incredible to think that a non-heat-treated frame could collapse so immediately when it's made of the same material, by the same person as my old frame. When I was riding my Marino, I was fantastically harsh on it. I'll try and remember to get a picture of the downtube/chainstays to show you just HOW harsh. It may have taken three months for it to arrive when it was promised to be here in four weeks maximum (even though I paid double the postage costs for express shipping ((AND the postage label stated that it had been shipped in economy class!))), and he may have gotten the geometry impressively wrong, and the welds may have resembled the floor of an aviary, but I can't deny that it was a STRONG frame. It took a 10.5 foot across, and 2 foot high drop-gap down to 90* on two wheels for it to crack in one place after almost a year of abuse - which I then got welded by none other than the soon-to-be-owner of Jaf Bikse and it was fine for a long time after that, too. I don't know much about materials, but something has CLEARLY been done to that frame to make it collapse like that - unless you're actually trying to tell us that if we got one of Marino's old frames and it DIDN'T do this, we were the lucky ones. I find it hard to believe you'd spread such slander about him, considering how far up his arse you are most the time. If you so desire (and if I remember), I'll make a video of me jumping on the rear triangle of my frame, just to shut you the f**k up. (Sorry for thread-jacking, Leon.)
  7. Find a middle-ground. Only try to help when you know what the hell you're talking about In response to OP: if you're buying all these different bits and bobs separately, you'll likely be better off looking for a second hand full-build. As has been discussed at length already, you CAN run most your mod parts on a stock, but it'll almost certainly ride horrendously. If you're looking at spending a fair wedge anyway, for a small amount more you'll probably get a decent, mid-range, second hand complete.
  8. I'm so used to seeing 24"s that I always think he's riding a 29er Wanna go to LA now Wicked.

    Brakes

I know I'm hardly an authoritative figure on such a topic, but my Hope Tech was epic at the start and gradually got less and less impressive. Had a go on some Saints a while back, and whilst they're good they really didn't live up to what I'd been led to believe. If I were to get a (/pair) of discs, I'd be headed straight toward the MT2 aisle. Been on two separate bikes with them both front and rear that have easily outperformed any others I've experienced, and much cheaper, too.
  10. Dear Haters and Statistic Skewers, Other than being quite difficult to remove from my old cranks, my SL has been nothing but perfect for the 9 months I've had it, and I often use it as a brake. Just sayin'. Yours sincerely, A. Bascher
  11. I was astonished to realize, some time ago, that Josh has never had his own video. This bump-started a project, but he's really hard to film. Most the time, he just does lines and never asks to film, and the times I see what he's planning and ask, he insists on doing it first, and THEN filming it. That makes it very hard to get footage, which it might seem like it's struggling to fill the time (even though I snipped the song already!) Also pretty drop-gap intensive, but they're what he likes to do, and he's pretty damned good at them, so why the hell not?
  12. Amounts to the same thing. I didn't word it very well, I understand, but by "brakeless" I meant "the act of riding without using brakes", not specifically "riding a bicycle that has no motion restriction actuators fitted".
  13. Oh MAN. I'd clean forgotten everyone used to call brakeless "deathgrip". Hahaha. How things have changed!
  14. Hahahahahahaha. Sorry - I didn't really think that through Looking forward to seeing you integrate these in to lines in your next video! As Chimp said, it'll be interesting to see a different take on them.
  15. Post-apocalyptic? With functioning electric lights? Hmm...
  16. No - I've switched and switched back, but am awaiting some Jaf forks now And no WAY! 165x35.
  17. It got longer than that I cut it off 'cause it kept getting caught in my wheels doing sidehops.
  18. They're not even close to the right splines Also - not an available product. Also - Try-All freewheel :/
  19. It appears I shouldn't've worried so much about the music Glad you enjoyed it! I feels the gooded.
