1. I think, therefore I am... Nah, but seriously, I'm a student in my final year of a web develop degree, and I've chosen not to work at the same time so I can concentrate on studying.
2. This is the only "bodge" I was proud of, Hope Mono Trial lever blade, on a Maggy 04 body, complete with TPA and lever reach adjustment:

Wooden Fixie Bars

Kinda cool, but right gay at the same time.
4. No worries dude. In related laptop "look at me!" news, I have just bought my first ever brand new laptop: http://www.pcworld.c.....

It was never going to stay stock for long. I've given it a 128gb SSD for the OS and programs, and moved the 1tb HDD to the optical bay using an adapter kit, and the DVD drive now lives in a USB caddy for occasional use. Next on the list I think shall be RAM, it only has 6gb, and it should take a 16gb kit without complaining. (I easily fill 6gb and I can only go to 8gb or 16gb. I don't think 8gb will be enough). Went for the model without a discreet graphics card to save battery life, and it returns over 5 hours use. Not bad for a 15.6" laptop! Tis fast too... Boots in under 25 seconds and shuts down in under 5. Hoping to speed that up with some tweakings over the weekend too.
5. Alright Captain Pedantic... I thought the topic starter was on about working hours, which equal money? He even did maths to show how much he'd earn in a given time period.
6. That's an 11 hour day, you don't get paid for lunch hour. (Alright, 15min brew time and 45min lunch in his case).
7. My Dad has been working 11 hour days Mon-Fri and 6 hours on a Saturday for the last 3 years non stop, tis easy if you get into the routine. Main thing is to minimise the time it takes you between the alarm going off and clocking on. I do it at uni during peak times, up at 6 and I can be in the library by 7.30 without rushing too much.
8. Indeed, plus when you factor in those saved seconds, over a period of a year it more than justifies the extra cost IMO.
9. For gaming, they don't make a big difference IMO, but for everyday stuff (booting up, opening programs, etc) they make a huge difference. I've got one in my desktop and can't stand the HDD in the laptop now. Never going back!
10. Not Dell IMO. PC World are doing rediculous offers on a lot of Samsungs now because the Windows 8 ones are coming in soon. (Windows 8 is a bit shit IMO). I'd look at this: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-series-3-300e5c-15-6-laptop-black-15119696-pdt.html It has an i5 (latest one, the Ivy Bridge 3210M), 6gb of RAM, 750gb HDD.

Go Karting

200mph with a CR250 engine? Not a chance in hell, they have about 30-50bhp depending on the year! You'd be lucky to reach 100mph.
12. Sounds like a plan. Like I said, probably not worth spending an extra 33% on it, but thought it might be worth sharing. I like to pay extra for the shiney. I suggest you budget for an SSD btw, they do live up to the hype IMO. I just ordered one for my laptop, the slowness of a 5400rpm HDD is driving me insane. I'm going to run the OS and programs from the SSD (128gb Crucial M4), and then move the 1tb HDD it came with to an adapter in the optical bay (already bought and fitted). Should provide me with a pretty rapid portable workhorse!
13. Oh shit, yeh. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834216035
14. I'd say avoid W8, it's a big UI change and not one that suits laptops IMO. With a touch screen I'd say it's a seriously good option, but with a mouse/trackpad, I can't stand it. Been testing it for the last couple of weeks (got it through uni, tis all legit), and I'm not happy with it really. That laptop isn't bad at all, but it has the last generation i5, try to get a 3210M if you can, shouldn't be too tricky. I'm just gonna put this out there, yes it's $200 more but it has more ram, a better CPU and a faster GPU, so you won't have to upgrade the RAM, which will save $50-$100 I'd have thought, and you get the benefit of a faster CPU and GPU. Will the hard drive be big enough for you though? Tis only 750gb... Comes with Windows 8 as well though. In reality I think the link you post would be fine, just trying to offer another perspective.
15. He turned 17 earlier this year I think. Anyways, unlucky dude. Hope no-one was hurt!
16. You can tell just by looking at it that it won't ride anything like a skye. It's an interesting build, but it is a jump bike. It even has a BB drop lol.
17. Can it actually hold you up, or is it just going to collapse on the first ride?
18. Video can't be embedded, post a link!
19. Not sure but it's worth going if you're into it. Tis a very strange place, I love it though. Not sure about open days though, because it's all open. Or at least, we didn't go to any that were blocked off. I think that legally you're not allowed on any of it, but if you don't get hurt... If you go, definitely go to have a look at the anti-tank wall, it's 100% still in tact and it's amazing to look at lol.
20. It's not that far really, flights are fairly expensive though.
21. Jardo, have you read much about Alderney? I've been there, it's quite an amazing place. Most of the german bunkers and gun placements are still un-touched, and they're all open so you can easily explore them.
22. And changes/ruins the wheelbase, BB height, head angle etc.
23. With decent forks yeh I think, but I may be wrong. With those shitters it'll be miles out though.
24. That'll be a "no" then lol. The dude who's farm you used to go and do stuff on.
