Press the windows key, much faster. I've been playing with it, and I'm not convinced. It's very "swish" but I got annoyed by it. I much prefer the W7 interface, where I just pin everything to the taskbar, so it's 1 click to launch any of my regular apps, not 2. 2 clicks is double the amount of clicks as I do now, which is a step backwards.
  2. Lol, even I'm pretty sure that's horse shit. No-one gets excited over a 1.2 homo-wagon.
  3. There are so many things to get stuck into in this thread (the wank nature of the original post, the nerdier-than-ocuk sig, etc) that I don't know where to start, so I'm not going to. Instead, I'm going to spend the rest of my allotted reply time cracking one off. Later. X
  4. Absolutely bloody awful.
  5. No you don't, because these days whenever someone semi-decent pops up, they get shared across the interwebs.
  6. I've liked them on Facebook, so hopefully I'll be reminded. I'll try to get a few mates there too.
  7. They're seriously good for such a young band. Do they ever play Sheffield? I'd go see them.
  8. The ones on the right would do, but I strongly suggest you hire a proper designer to show off your company. Often your logo is the first thing people see, and it sticks in peoples minds, so spend money on it!
  9. Doesn't get the account deleted, just banned, which has already been offered. Anyway, accounts don't get deleted. Just stop using it.
  10. Isn't there an archive feature on this forum? Every now and again you can set it to just save a plain HTML page archive on a lot of forums to reduce server load?
  11. Guess we had to agree on something. Kill off SMC then if elitism is a problem. Otherwise, just embrace it and populate it! Ignoring it isn't going to fix anything. IMO social hierarchies are a good thing, but maybe that's the reason that I don't run a forum. If you want a good example, look at the overclockers.co.uk forum. The rules are set in stone, they even update them using version numbers, and they enforce them religiously, yet they have over 100k members and over 16 million posts, because there is a very strong community feel and because they listen to the community, rather than popping up every year or so saying "Lol, errm, this thread/section is shit so I'm closing it, have fun!". They vote, like in a democracy, then agree the rules, and the moderators enforce them. Asking the members what they want is important IMO, it makes them feel like they are wanted.
  12. Here's my humble opinion: The threads were shut, and some time later, the numbers using TF rose. IMO, that has f**k all to do with the closing of those threads. If you ask me, it has a lot more to do with the trials community in general growing due to a greater number of demos happening per year, tartybikes continuing to grow, and that scotch bloke doing BMX stuff. What we know for sure is that overall, 6+ months on, there is a group of 15+ members who hate the fact that those threads have gone. Why not just bring them back? If only to see if the numbers drop and to see if the assumption that the numbers increasing had anything to do with the changes done to TF around the same time. Or, just make more than 2 people a year into seniors. There are about 25 seniors on a forum with 10,000 members, with access to SMC. However you look at it, that shit is shit. Not even 1% of the forum are considered to be "higher level" members. to be honest I think i should be in there, 6 years and 15k posts show enough dedication. If not, then I must be pissing people off a lot, if so, give me some f**king warns. Last one was a joke by OBM about 4 years ago.
  13. Have you tried using the VGA instead? What GPU does the new laptop have? Got the latest drivers for it?
  14. Well just drive a bit slower then, that'll sort it.
  15. Or you could just drive the car you already own to a track, drive round the track all day, then drive home?

    Happy Thread

They gave everyone a place to "bond" as a community, and now I don't feel that happens any more. The reasons were partially because they were overloading/breaking stuff (boo hoo, just restart the topic and archive the old one like every other forum), and partly to encourage more people to post in Chit-Chat because it was too "clicky". Since they've closed, I feel (strongly I might add) that more and more members are giving up an going elsewhere. You might be getting more users in terms of numbers, but I think they should be chasing a quality user-base, not quantity. The way to get quality is to encourage the community feel of the place, which for me was centred around the "thread" threads.

    Happy Thread

This has been tried many times. It has also failed many times. The reasons it was closed were utter horse shit if you ask me, but they were reasons none the less.

Ah I see, I didn't know they have pins. I'll take your word for it.

I don't get it, it does have I/O? Any USB keyboard/mouse will work.
  21. I'll take that, cheers! You saw it here first. It was nothing special to be honest, I needed a lever for a maggy, but only had that lever blade, so spent an few hours fitting that up so I could ride. Worked fine for the few weeks I rode that bike until I got bored. I actually really liked it, because I've always preferred quite square lever blades, and for some reason it seemed to increase the mechanical advantage over a standard lever. (Effectively moved the pivot and pushrod/bolt closer together at a guess?)
  22. Yeh, this is all that matters to be honest, f**k him.
  23. Pretty sure he can't as it was unsold on ebay? They dealt with it outside ebay. Just delete the listing, job done.
  24. He turned up, checked it out and parted with his money. He could see for his own eyes what it was worth, so he doesn't have a leg to stand on. If he turns up, call the police.
