  1. Need some new pedals for my hex after pinching the wellgo MG-1s off of it for my cannondale. I would get some more MG-1s but I fancy some slim pedals and the Nukeproof ones have caught my eye. CRC have both the Neutrons and Protons for £40. The only difference I can see is the body shape. Has anybody had experience with both?
  2. Quite a few bits have changed on my bike recently. Before: Now: As it's main use is riding to work and back, I felt it needed to be focused more on being a road bike. The new wheels and crankset has shed quite a lot of fat which has made one hell of a difference. A few more things still need to be done. The pedals are about 5 - 6 years old now and are feeling a bit rough. I want to put the matching fatty forks back on but the steerer is too short, so needs extending. And then a few less important things, like the headset.
  3. I'm not talking down his riding abilities, but to me it felt like a recycled combination of Ashton and Kenny Belaey.
  4. I have no plans for doing it soon, so I will have time to see if it does grow on me. I got the trialtech forged one. Since a lot of the parts on my bike are trialtech, I thought I would keep with the theme.
  5. As you guys recommended, I have got a 90 x 35 stem on it now. After having a little play on the pavement outside my house just now, it does feel better. However I still think that steep stems look crap. I may have to get some new forks and go back to my hope stem with some stackers at some point. Too bad I cut down my inspired forks for my justice a while back.
  6. I liked the riding a lot, but I didn't like the video itself very much.
  7. All I want to see is an 04 lever body with a 2 bolt bar clamp and maybe a flip flop design.
  8. Are Echo freewheels not the ones to get anymore? I haven't really paid attention to freewheels for a couple of years. Back on topic, Tartybikes have an offer on trialtech rear hubs. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/116mm_fixed_hubs/trialtech_sport_rear_hub/c62p10471.html Trialtech cranks are decent and good value as well.

    Films!?

I'm taking my little brother to see it this afternoon. I ain't paying so even if it's crap, I won't mind. As long as it is better than jurassic park 3 then I will be happy.
  10. Agreed. I have had 3 in the last 6 or so years (only changed for colour scheme) and haven't had a problem with any of them. Plus they are easy to maintain and affordable. Maybe mono trial brakes are worth a mention too. I was also going to bring built in brake bootsers up. But they seem to be fading away. Who started dilled rims and when? They certainly caught on.
  11. It's a fantastic front brake. It isn't 160 though, it's 180.
  12. It's not as glossy as it looks in the picture. The frame actually has quite a matte finish, but I think that because the paint is smoother than the forks, it is reflecting more light.
  13. Had this frame lying around for a few months whist I had some fun on another frame and because I was making up my mind what colour to paint in. After lots of thought though, I chose the boring option and went black. I'm still not 100% happy with the set up as an allrounder. I had similar feelings last time I had it built. I think the bars, stem or both are wrong, so i'm going to have to have a play.

    Films!?

I watched that earlier this evening and I thought similar. I liked the concept, I just think the film needed to take itself a bit more seriously for it to have worked well, if you catch my drift. I think Yolandi and Ninja were the biggest problem. I think if they were less "gangsta" and they were played by proper actors, it would have been a lot better. I also didn't like the ending very much. I watched Birdman a few days ago and was pretty impressed.
  15. I'm no manual expert, but I found that I improved my manuals most when I took off my back brake. So you have to rely on body movements to keep your balance rather then using the back brake to stop you going over the back. Manuals are quite a tricky one to nail though, so keep at it.
  16. I had a base ta20. My brother had it after me and it had been in the shed for years until I took it to the tip a month or 2 ago. It was a pile of shit but I learn't most of the basics on it. It was also the only mod bike I have ever owned.
  17. When I used to have 2 bikes (26" "compy" trials bike and a 24" street bike), I tried to ride them both as equally as I could. Although I did favour the 24" bike as it was more fun. However, I got really bored of switching bikes and riding styles all the time. So I decided to build one middle ground 26" bike and I think it was a really good decision.
  18. For anyone who is interested... This is 17-14 with an old/stretched chain. Tiny bit of filing, some sort of spacers to push the wheel back and it's mission accomplished.
  19. I didn't. Too be honest, I just don't pay enough attention to know exactly who stands for what. I don't watch the news, I don't read newspapers and I don't look at the politics on the internet. I was going to read up about it all in the last few weeks but I never found the time. So instead of doing eenie meenie miney mo, I just sat this one out.
