  1. The leverage on the carbon steerer must be huge! Does K-124 mention stem length in the fork warranty blurb? Also, how tall is OP? Seeing this is making me wonder if I could do with a dramatically longer stem on my Pure. Nice build by the way.
  2. Yeah I've always wondered why Echo doesn't build boosters into their frames. Super clean build though... Looks ace.
  3. As above. I did have one snap on me on its first outing — and it wasn't at the joining link — but haven't had any issues since.
  4. Is there any reason for promoting Heatsink in this video? Just curious.
  5. Then whack some light oil in there. Repeat flushing/oiling process whenever the freewheel gets dirty or wet.
  6. Cheers. I'm guessing that other than the graphics, it's exactly the same as this ?
  7. Well at least you did the job properly. Out of interest, do you have any clearance issues with the Big Betty on the back?

    "pure Sex"

Oh my. How tall are you out of interest... Isn't that a mod stem?

  10. My bad. It shouldn't affect hardened paint at all.
  11. Would water's refractive index stop this working? It would also look pretty funny. I go without, but would say decent goggles and contacts.
  12. Given that it's used often to clean paint brushes, I'd probably steer clear of it for painted stuff. I use a cloth and GT85 for cleaning frames.
  13. Disable all Chrome extensions and plugins. Clear all 'private data'. Then re-enable things individually.

Some really smooth brakeless riding – sidehops especially
  15. I should probably point out that as plausible as it sounds, the whole Balotelli library fine thing was the creation of some bored third years whom I happen to know quite well. I was actually in JRUL with them when they seeded the rumour on Facebook, which then went viral insanely fast. Don't underestimate procrastinating students...
  16. That's really good to know about the eggs. I mentioned the mercury thing because one of my housemates got mercury poisoning in his first year. I didn't live with him then but he said he ate tuna everyday.
  17. I just spat tea on my desk. Never heard so much tripe in one two sentences. Be careful about overdoing protein. Its metabolism produces ketones which have to be flushed out by the kidneys. If you're consuming way more protein than your muscles need for repair/growth, you'll eventually screw up your kidneys. Want to up your protein intake on the cheap? Eat tinned tuna. It goes great with pasta dishes. No saturated fat at all. But not every day because it contains mercury... Compliment that with a shake after training. Obviously eggs are good too, but yokes have a fair bit of LDL cholesterol in them. Back to studying for my ...proteins... exam next week. FML.
  18. Good bite, mediocre hold with standard pads, light, pretty, levers are very prone to damage. Power is fine with Hope Pro pads.
  19. My first SL died pretty spectacularly. 3 months old, skipped a few times, then totally locked up one day by blowing a pawl. My second hasn't skipped yet. They're not perfect, but they're probably better than the alternatives. It seems like there's a bit of luck involved. I'd still buy another.
  20. This'll be good. Maybe it wants more depth in a couple of places, as you'd expect for something half finished. The foreground synth that comes in right from the start — the one that sounds like it delays for 2 more quavers — I think this could do with a bit more work. Liking the drums. Also liking the end-of-fourth-bar upbeats eg 1:16, 1:38... Are you just gating and flanging the drum track? Couldn't care less if a few DnB producers have gone mainstream... Hospital puts out some good stuff.
  21. Check out the brake lever angle. Unrideable.

    Csc Rim Brakes

LOVE the integrated clamp and threaded slave adjustment. Really innovative. But I think that a closed system would appeal more to the trials market given how obsessive many of us are about brake setup.
  23. Just look to see if the frame is flexing. Yeah, better hold usually at the expense of a little bite. I noticed with my new frame that the brake felt really positive at first, but a few months of riding has softened up the rear triangle to the point that I now want a booster.
