  1. He had set the bar pretty high with April 2009, but this didn't disappoint. At all.
  2. Again... I might be able to make this one.
  3. Nice idea. Sadly we haven't yet worked out how to tell light to pretend it's hitting something solid when it isn't. I like the other idea further down the thread. It could start out as just a way to review trialsy locations with other users of the app. It could then serve appropriately tagged photos/videos from twitpic, flickr etc for a given location. It could be a relatively straightforward HTML5, Google Maps API and database affair, usable on any decent smartphone. Hell, I might even make an app like this when I get some time.

    Ryan Leech

That's prime BS right there... Would have been a decent video if he hadn't opened his mouth.
  5. Well that's an interesting take on physics. Tar is ok, but needs applying regularly or braking becomes worse than with a clean, smooth rim. Grinds last for ages. There'a always the Dremel option if you're scared of angle grinders or in a rush to go riding in the rain.
  6. If you're trying to do the move that Ryan Leech has invented and for some strange reason christened the 'zap-tap' then no, don't use your front brake. Otherwise though, the front brake can be really useful for getting up stuff.
  7. I don't think it'll work for me tomorrow. But looking forward to the next one.
  8. Saw my name mentioned in this thread and thought I'd chime in. For various reasons I'm not in Manchester this year but will be back next year. I used to ride every Tuesday with a couple of guys from Edinburgh Bicycle Co. on Oxford Road in Victoria Park, next to the Curry Mile. I'm sure they're still going. Also met up once with cant_ride (who's username is misleading!) I've heard that there are some nice spots in Ancoats if anyone's around there.
  9. I could be up for this. Any idea on how many people will be there?
  10. Great video. Was it that last dropgap that finished off your frame?
  11. It's possible yes, but a lot of bars/stems are shot peened IIRC, a surface treatment which is more difficult to remove. If you have moderately expensive trials bars/stem, chances are they'll be straight anodised which should come off easily in a sodium hydroxide bath.
  12. The use of microSIMs, while fairly unnecessary, is really not an issue because of these things (if you're too scared to just use a knife) Edit: beaten
  13. Flatland, street, trials and a bit of dirt jumping all in one video and all on one bike. Impressive!
  14. Fruit loops Fruityloops In all seriousness, if you're starting from the beginning, FL probably isn't the best choice.
  15. Nice riding! Shame it was all at 10FPS
  16. Not really my thing but I'm liking more as it goes along. There's a nice bouncy bassline that comes in at 33:50 that I haven't heard before. Is that yours? EDIT: The zombies sample made me laugh... liked it though.
  17. Had no problems whatsoever with my Canon Pixma. Cost around £70, is actually fairly cheap to run, and is completely plug and play with OS 10.6. Recommended. It looks like a glossy breadbin.
  18. Before you go about trying to save weight, I'd get a FFW setup and possibly a Magura on the back. These are the biggest price related compromises on the Bird.
  19. I think I remember seeing one of your videos ages ago on Youtube. Glad to see your riding style is still as crazy as it was then
  20. Good to see some riding in Taunton! Liked it a lot, but more would have been nice.
  21. Why the abuse? Nicely done
