Those tappy sidehop things you do are nuts! Liked it

Make sure it fits... I don't have a Giro head - none of them fit me. I have a Bell head. Explains a lot really!

I'm not going to stop using Foursquare either, but I have no friends on Foursquare because no one I know uses it. I feel like a bit of stalker asking people to add me on Foursquare and 90% of the time they've never heard of it... so I don't do it any more. Places will change that... Because it's Facebook, everyone will use it. And suddenly it'll become useful in the way that Foursquare isn't at the moment.

Just as I'm not yet receiving the updated Twitter, I'm not receiving Places yet. They haven't bothered to update the Android app so I have to use touch.facebook.com which doesn't have any privacy settings at all. Have you worked out what it means for your business yet JD?

Liked it a lot, still like it a lot, perhaps and tiny bit more. -
So now that you've heard what you want to hear you're closing it?

I agree that flash isn't the future, especially not for video, but I really dislike the way that Apple tries to tell the industry what it should and shouldn't be doing. There is a place for flash and Froyo has proven that it can work very well on mobile devices. Apple is beginning to backpedal - they've finally bothered to write a proper API for GPU acceleration in OS X and last week did a complete U turn on their decision in May to ban alternative iOS SDKs. Hence Adobe is dusting off Flash Packager for iPhone which will eventually allow flash apps to run on iOS - the thing that Jobs made all the fuss about in the first place. And then there's this... /rant

Don't own one but have used other people's a lot, even before they were released in the UK. Surfing is a joy, as is watching video. The screen isn't very pixel dense but is still impressive. It's a great device that I would buy if I had disposable income. However, seeing as my phone runs flash 10.1 it would feel like a downgrade in that respect - Apple's arrogance over the whole issue really annoys me.

FTR probably the worst place to have a falling dream is in a lecture. I slammed my hands so hard on the table that the lecturer ~15 rows in front of me flinched as well.

I did this as a last minute fix to let me ride in the rain the other day. It does work a bit, but using an angle grinder is easier, quicker and gives a much better result. I'll be doing a proper grind on mine when I next get round to taking off the back wheel.

You'll regret not bringing the 32" along IMO. You can surf on the 24" while watching TV. Every slob's dream.

4/10 from Engadget http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/28/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-for-atandt-review/

Nude trials? Someone must have done it. But yeah, surely you'd take off your your top first?

Yes... it's finally getting a 2.1 update, so will work with most the apps in the Android Market But as above, you should definitely read some phone reviews or just go to a shop and try it out.

At least you're not riding a mod! Once I'm back at uni with my bike, it'd be good to get out again. A couple of riding buddies just graduated but I should be able to get a couple more to come along on a weekend if you were able to make it (we normally do evenings).

Just found out about this site when a mate called me to say that his mate (who now has a Sankeys residency) was playing a set on the radio this evening. Had some really nice minimal stuff on earlier, still pretty good. http://www.manchesterglobal.co.uk/

I just kept my bike in my room last year and despite nearly riding into the hall warden just outside my room, I never actually had a stand off with anyone about keeping my bike there. Over Easter I disassembled my bike and hid inside my wardrobe for room inspections

Fortunately the girls from last year decided to leave their 32" CRT in the living room of our new uni house. It's great for watching TV, but long multiplayer sessions on the xbox kill your eyes with all the flickery 50Hz - ness. I can watch iPlayer etc on the 23" monitor in my room. I think CRTs are the way forward for uni house lounges. No fighting over who keeps it at the end either.

I enjoyed that... a relaxed vid with some nice riding. I see someone's already mentioned the Superdry Do you ride Manchester often?

Only the rim matters. The disadvantage of using a non disk hub is that the flange spacing generally isn't as large meaning that the wheel build will be *slightly* less stiff. It wouldn't bother me though.

Setting up an ad hoc wifi network on your laptop and using windows internet connection sharing (ICS) is a reasonable way to achieve this. Googling that should get you started. But that assumes you were connecting to it via Wifi. Were you using a cable before?

Lever looks nasty Slaves look ok - and the plastic hose protectors should help prevent the hoses from kinking where they leave the slave. Surely the only non OEM market for the HS33 is trials? Everyone else has moved on. We must surely be the only ones buying retail hs33s these days. We are the only people who actually care what Magura does with this product. Why did they bother?

600 minutes, unlimited texts, 1.5GB data, 30 photo messages for 18 months and an HTC Desire on Orange £60 initial outlay £20/month. Should be £25 with 500mb data but Orange lied when they sold me the phone saying there was no data fair use policy.
