  1. As the title says, I'm after alternatives to Tarty for spokes. For my own reasons I'm fed up of such a simple order becoming complicated.
  2. I found theres a 1mm raised area. I'll file it down. Thanks for everyones help.
  3. The #3 caliper doesn't fit either. don't really want to file / grind my frame or new adapter. Any other options?
  4. Yeah I'm going to check the front caliper before I swap them. The picture with the avid brake on is an example of the mount on my bike.
  5. Yeah I worked that out after my post, the problem now is that the mount itself seems to be in the way so the bolt holes don't line up, going to swap front and rear clipers, front is a #3
  6. Wrong adaptor. 1: I can't even get it to bolt onto my frame as one of the adaptors holes 'Doesn't quite reach' 2: Only two of the holes on the adaptor are threaded so if I filed my frames disc tab slightly to make it fit I still couldn't bolt my brake on.
  7. I mean you got the sticky piston because of the water, with an oil bleed it's rare to get one. I give up. Who else wants to help?
  8. Ofc phatpads can be used for both but they're designed for a grind. Regarding the water bleed you most likely got a sticky piston and instead of simply lubing it up you got rid of it.
  9. Riding is improving. One thing i've noticed though is that you seem to "lug" / "throw" the bike rather than pre-load and pedal kicking.
  10. Disc hubs have better resale value and give the option of disc in the future. I've just had to fork out for new front hub, rear wheel build and brakes. Cost me about £120 for both mono trials, rear rim + spokes + hub, front hub, adaptor and pads. I got £17 for my front maggy, £40 for my rear (TR lever) and I'm yet to sell my hubs / wheels. TL:DR Get disc now, insure yourself against any future changes of mind.
  11. Thats why I said Grind and why refuse to water bleed? Both of those things will improve your brake 10x. Phat's are designed for a grind, of course they're going to be shit on smooth.
  12. You don't even know whether he wants a 24" trials or 24" street bike. You've become the new Kieran morrison.
  13. Bleed your brakes with water using Revolvers Bath Bleed guide found in his signiture (Do a search for him) Grind your rim!
  14. I've known you for well over a year and you've been wanting to downsize since before I met you.
  15. It was still on page1. Last time I checked you weren't allowed to bump topics until 24hours after the previous post.
  16. You'll always get a tight and loose spot. Find the slackest point and tension it there, its what I did before I had my wheel slammed in the dropouts with a spoke tensioner.
  17. The more you post the less hope for humanity I have. Anyway. It'd be too heavy and expensive. If you want to do trials with an engine do Mototrials.
  18. I love my Zhi frame but it isn't the best build quality. The toptube / headtube gusset is off center and one maggy slave can be all the way pushed out in the mounts and the other is half pushed in due to the chain stays being welded one higher than the other. Never caused and issues though, going rear disk as soon as my pads / adapter / rim arrive so it should matter even less.
  19. I guess this is the easiest route to take, cheers guys.
  20. What would you recommend then? Buying the Adapter or trying to find a trade?
  21. Hey guys, recently bought a rear hope mono trials for my Zhi Z3. It seems like the tabs on the caliper are too short to bolt in? Heres a pic of the brake I bought and a close up of the disk mount on a Zhi Z3.
  22. Tarty Adam has put my order on hold anyway. Guess i'm in the market for a new rim. Cheers guys.
  23. Thats what im running and it feels horrible. Any faster than walking pace and I feel its too light to put power in.
  24. Unlucky Dan. Regarding the skip a spoke at every quarter, I guess it's alternating which side I miss the spokes on? Or is it all on non-disk side?
