  1. 'tis a blade you tit If I decide to get Ryans frame, I'm holding you personally responsible to kick him in the nips so It's posted next day
  2. I think i'm going to go for the Echo, cheers guys. £100 for a dented frame is reasonable then yeah? And I think I'll just de-sticker it and leave it raw for now. My bad... It's a blade, no idea why I said comp.
  3. Forgot to mention that I'm dual disc, I was simply listing the downsides to each frame.
  4. Heya guys, been offered both an Echo Lite'09 frame and an Onza blade 2010. Echo is £100 - One small dent otherwise immaculate. Onza is £90 - Maggy mounts are f**ked, otherwise immaculate. I know that frames are all personal preference but which would you go for? I've also got a 128mm bb and an Echo TR 110mm rear hub (116mm with snailcams) and I'm wondering about the chainline on both bikes, would the existing combo work ok? Cheers guys.
  5. Can't face my frame :/ Zhi have a strange disc tab. It's reet though.
  6. My old Marta was a LOT better than any hope I've used. Miss that brake.
  7. Remember how mine got contaminated to f**k but still managed to become a beasty brake? Pour water all over it and roll down the massive hills either side of your house.
  8. I already had front and rear hopes but my front was the old style lever and these just look so pimp I had to get them In tensioner related news, a local rider of mine (Kimosabi on the forums) has knocked this up for me, it goes around the chain stay and the bolt is to hope the roller in place (Once or twice a week it'll randomly bend into the wheel and snap the tensioner.
  9. All monty brakes would look like your old ones And yeah, got them from Grant.
  10. Ahh well, I'm getting bored of the frame anyway. Don't really want to faff about with stems and bars, plus my forks are already too short so spacers are out of the question
  11. New brakes and headset fitted. Bump!
  12. If set up properly 160mm front and rear will be plenty. Quite a few mod riders use 140mm rear rotors with a hope so 160mm with a bb7 should be fine.
  13. Watched it at work with no sound, looks good though, nicely put together with some decent riders. Will watch it again when I'm at home so I can actually hear what the people interviewed had to say.
  14. I've always been told that the added cable flex added to a flexy caliper makes for a shit feeling brake, I haven't personally used one though. I know kieran whitefield swears by them.
  15. Hold the bike up and spin the wheel using the cranks really fast, then just hold it on. If it doesn't work then try get some off the old wooden electricity poles.

    Tar

That's just the tar, not the grind. I'm sure I've read a couple of times it renders the grind useless.

    Tar

So you say the best thing to do is cover the roughness with tar? And fill in the grooves that help to channel water away? Don't listen to this guy, it's been said time and time again that using both a grind and tar at the same time is pointless.
  19. Rim brakes - Water. Water will destroy discs though.
  20. All of which will be out of his £250-300 budget
  21. Wheelbase: 1000mm BB: +60mm Chainstay: 350mm Weight: 1,9Kg Mounts: HS33+Disc Thinking about getting a new frame actually, I'd like something shorter for more streety moves whilst keeping a mid/high bb so I can still trials quite well.
  22. It works very well indeed. I would've kept it as just a plain spoke if the side plates didn't catch it and make it move about. The roller itself is a tad too narrow for the chain so it doesn't even sit straight, better than nothing though.
  23. Finally got around to putting pics of my comp up! RIP Z3(Nothing wrong with it, I just wanted a change.) I hadn't fitted the chain in this picture - Frame: Onza Comp - Forks: Echo Lites - Front wheel: Echo Urban rim, Pro-II Hub and Kenda SmallBlock8 tyre. - Rear wheel: Trialtech reinforced(drilled) rim, Echo TR Hub and a Monty Eagle Claw tyre. - Cranks: Trialtech, Trialtech half ring and an Echo SL FFW - BB: Giggapipe - Pedals: DMR V8s - Stem: Echo Team - Bars: Trialtech - Front brake: Limited Monty edition Hope mono trials, 160mm rotor - Rear brake: Limited Monty edition Hope mono trials, 160mm rotor - Headset: Onza Mongo - Grips: ODI Longnecks Now has a front Hope rotor and rear try all rotor!
